So I guess their wedding anniversary is every 4 years??
John, what was that light you were using on top of your camera during the confetti exit?
Thank you so much for this content. It really gives me a big help being a blogger, because some of my friends invite's me to be their photographer on their friends wedding also. I get laugh on their invitations because am not really a photographer, but i'm trying to learn how to get a good shots. And I must thank you for that, because you give the best idea that could really helps me shows the best camera shots. I hope can I do this shots awesome on thursday and saturday for my friends wedding day using my Canon 3000D sponsored by my tita.
Thank you so much for your very nice techniques. I am your new subscriber a Filipino from the Philippines.
I just spent an hour and a half watching this and I’m not even a photographer
This was perfext. I am shootijg my very first weddijg in March and this couldn't have come at a better time
23:10. How did you get them all in focus with an F2.8?
This the type of game you spend top dollar on. And this man just gave it away for free. This is gonna be the game changer for someone. Thank you.
Out here showing the love. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Feel free to share around to anyone who may need it.
Well, it isn’t giving it away for free. Every time someone clicks on this video, he earns something thru the advertisements you see before and during the video.
@@stevek46 Yeah but what exactly are you paying him to get his little secrets???
There are hundreds and thousands of people in this field but they do not reveal a single thing. They don't teach you for FREE. So whenever someone does this, please try to be a bit more kind. Appreciate the efforts they put in to create this 100 min long worthy piece of content for you.
@@stevek46 Karen, go sit in your couch.
Me! I’m that someone!! Loved it!!
Can't believe this is free content, thank you for this BTS wedding photography. 💯
I just spent an hour and a half watching this and I’m not even a photographer
Thank you so much for watching. I hope you enjoyed it.
@@jbivphotography very well done!! Couldn’t stop watching😀
I hired a photographer that can’t take good pictures and can’t edit. Very disappointed! Wasted of my time and money so I decided to become a photographer. I am a very detailed person and love this video very much!!! Thank you.
Same 😆 I want him to fly to Canada and be my wedding photographer and im not even engaged 🤣🤣
Man your channel is 🔥
1 hour and 20 minutes of detailed wedding photography tips….unlike everyone else you actually showed us how to do things your way, by filming yourself at the wedding, thank you
I really appreciate that. Just wait till the next one. That one is going to be like 2 hours long.
@@jbivphotography 😂 looool, bring it on man, bring it on 💪
This is still the best way to gain knowledge on wedding photography, experiencing it as I were an assistant! Thanks for creating such a detailed video man! Stay safe!
Awesome. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Hope you learned a bunch.
I was about to say the same! This content is amazing and very helpful. Thanks John!!!!
Photos look like they should belong in a GQ Magazine. Great work!
Dang. Thanks so much. I really appreciate that.
Grandma killed it! I shoot weddings and MY GOD, you try to set something up, put everything in it and ... someone comes along, you have one split second to make that shot and they kill it (or just about it). I know the feeling ... But I laughed my ass off when I saw grandma ready to tackle that guest who pulled her back! Sweet ... Memories. You did well! I enjoyed your video!
Grandma was ready to throw it down at closing!! 😭😂😂😂
And grandma was up for a fight after being moved lol
Grandma almost hurt some one when they pushed her outta the way for the confetti throw! Ha Hilarious!
Saw that!! Haha awesome
Haha I saw that too! 😅😅
@@curlygurlash8305 ppppppppppppppppppppppp

She was ready to fight!
John, you’re truly a blessing to us Fuji users and the whole photo community!
Thanks so much! That means so much.
I’ve watched numerous “behind the scenes” wedding videos… this is probably the best one I’ve watched! Learned a ton. You gained a new follower for sure! Thanks.
Gotta love the grandma coming in at the end😂😂
Move it, grandma! 😂😅 Great stuff, John.

You've broken this down to a science! Damn, I love everything about this! Makes me wanna be a wedding photographer :)
I can't believe I seriously just watched this whole video!
Me too. I’m glad i did. It was amazing and enjoyable and very helpful. Thanks John.
rewatching this for the 10th time. Can't wait until you (and the rest of us) are shooting again.
I hear that. It's been so long since having a "normal" wedding day. 😔😔
This has to be one of the best behind the scene videos I’ve seen. Well done, Sir.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I hope it was helpful and you were able to learn a little something. Thanks for watching!
Grandma at the end 😂. Great vid John, Thanks
May you live long! Don't have words to thank you for sharing all this valuable information.
This video will be a breakthrough for so many present and future photographers. I know it was for Me . Thank You John for Your Kindness.
I really appreciate it! I'm glad you enjoyed it and I hope it keeps helping photographers going forward.
This is the type of content you can binge watch, but also learn something in the process of doing so, keep it going JB!
That really means a lot to me. Glad I’m making good quality content for everyone.
This is honestly the best video breakdown of what a day photographing a wedding looks like. Love this!
Wow, thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video.
I've been doing high-end wedding films for over a decade, and have decided to scale up and offer photo services. I landed on this video looking to polish up my detail, posing skills and flash technicals. I have to say, you are sharing so much for nothing more than YT clicks, the wealth of information here (even for a seasoned luxury vendor) is extremely valuable. Add to that, the end deliverables are top notch. Thanks for all that you've shared, i'll be watching more.
I really appreciate that. Especially from another pro in the industry. Thank you for watching and I hope to continue bringing this much value in the future!
Yoooo John you be making me tear up as though I’m the one getting married I’m having the emotions through your photography! Enjoyed the whole vid and even took notes for my futur weddings! I’m getting your presets as well. Good job 👏🏽
Awesome! I'm glad you're able to feel the emotion in the photos. That's my main goal. Also I'm glad that there were a bunch of tips and things that you can learn from. Do amazing at your weddings!
I admire your work (photos). Photos are beautiful. Makes ones feel like they are at the wedding. I love how you prepare the bride and the groom during your photo shoot.
Have you ever thought about becoming a photographer coach? I would love you to be my photographer coach.
This was such a great video to watch, loved all your shots and the 2nd photographers shots. The editing was on point! Usually I would get bored and skip forward but I watched the entire video just amazed.
1:19:13 Grandma wasn't happy lool
This was SO incredibly helpful, I’m shooting my first wedding this weekend and feel way less overwhelmed and nervous. Thank you so much for putting this together and sharing!!
31:29 “Nice and tight, it’ll keep ya warm”
John, your crowd work is top-notch.
I can't tell you how grateful I am for you making this.
You’re welcome! I’m glad to help out.
Hey John, I have my first ever wedding photoshoot tomorrow! I am playing your behind the scenes videos and advice all over again! When I started watching your youtube behind the scenes I never thought I would one day actually shoot a wedding! Thank you John! God bless you and your family abundantly!
You are the Man. Almost like a mentor i would say. Thanks for this invaluable video.
I appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed the video.
I've watched numerous "behind the scenes" wedding
videos, this is probably the best one I've watched! Thanks 🙏🏼
How awesome! I really appreciate that and glad you enjoyed it!
As a amateur/intermediate photographer I am amazed by all the experience you’ve given me thus far. Weddings are definitely nuanced, complicated, and stressful but you handle so much of it like the professional you are. I’d love to have a mentor doing the same thing and learning by their side like you. You are a blessing to us all, 🙏🏽
This was executed so well and confirmed my thoughts and questions about wedding photography. Best part is you are 100% NOT annoying like so many (including the music), you're chill, explaining things simple step-by-step. Cant' thank you enough!
Exactly!! I wish he would do my wedding in April but i prob can’t afford it 😔
Her mother looked so pretty! Loved her dress
It was such a beautiful wedding.
I'm a wedding videomaker
I love see this type of video showing the behind the scene of the wedding day
Shooting my first wedding soon as main photographer and this full guide is so helpful. Thank you so much for making this and sharing your process!
This video is incredibly helpful. I'm learning so much that I needed to know as I'm just starting out! You are a gem for making this. Thank you John!
This should be required viewing for everyone wanting to take photos of multiple people let alone weddings. Excellent work mate.
Thanks so much. That really means a lot. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Entire wedding captured beautifully and given identity to their wedding and lifetime moments .
Thank you!
I've watched HUNDREDS of wedding photography videos, and MAN are you good! Makes me reconsider using full frame when I see what you are able to achieve with an APSC... You are incredibly talented!!!
This content was so awesome and was really like a mentor session, John, thank you for making this awesome content, you're a brilliant photographer and an absolute plug for doing this! 👌👌🔥🔥
I appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed it and I hope it was extremely helpful for you.
this was great man! and the grandma got mad at the end! it had me dying lol too funny.
😂
Wow! I’ve always wanted to try weddings. I’ve been so nervous to do so. I’ve even turned down family and friends because of the stress. I’ve learned so much from this video.
Great work and what a great behind the scenes from start to finish. Awesome!
this is so helpful! I've been trying to get into wedding videography as a second shooter, but have only shot one wedding (as a photographer), this is so vital!
This is literally the best wedding photography video I've ever seen
I really appreciate that! I’m glad you enjoyed it.

I like how everyone is seated and being mature, no one is running around with their phones, getting in the way of the photographers and trying to become one
I honestly cried when she was getting ready.. this is first video I've seen of you and you are FLAWLESS... you make me feel so inspired and you sound so in control and relaxed!
I'm an avid Fuji-Hater, but you just showed me that it doesn't matter what camera is in your hand. I love this video!!! Thank you for the great content. #Subscribed
lol I don't get why people 'hate' camera brands when photographer is not about brands.
badhabit same. And nothing matters once you shoot raw.
Guess some just hate the “jpeg” because of some snobbish “raw only” mentality. I once delivered a paid set with jpegs only. Was booked again because they liked it. Classic Chrome ftw.
@@badhabit714 I don't get why people don't read the entire comment. I legit said that camera brands don't matter.
@@juansymontano You sent a client unedited JPEGs of their wedding? You do know that RAW shooters deliver JPEG to their clients too right?
@@juansymontano nice.
Cracking up at grandma at the end!!! Amazing video, I felt like I was right there in training. Cannot wait for my first wedding shoot!!!
The soundtrack plays when the brides besties are putting her shoes on is DOPE! i was so into the scene!
Nice! I spent so much time picking songs for each scene. I'm glad you noticed.
This is absolutely incredible to watch your process. I would love to shoot weddings some day and watching someone so talented do such great work is really inspiring.
I love your content! 😍 I am shooting a wedding this weekend and this video makes me so much more comfortable and relax!
YES!! I'm glad I could help out. Do a great job on your wedding!!
Omg why is nobody talking about grandma getting feisty at the end when she was touched 🤣💀 AMAZING video!!!
John, I cannot express how much I learned with this BTS. Your energy, sympathy and photos are incredible.
The effort you put into this is crazy! I learned so much! Thank you! So many gems. This shouldn’t have even been free! Can’t say enough how awesome this video was! From showing live footage of the action, angles, the equipment you used, tip and tricks, and the final results of it all.... AMAZING! 🔥🔥 new subbie for sure!
I am going to watch this several times because you inspired me SO much. Your clean colors, emotion, and elegance captured is utterly fantastic. Thank you for sharing this. I am a Canon girl, but you have me googling Fuji and what they are all about!
I know you posted this about 3 years ago, so you may or may not see my comment. I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I have watched it probably a dozen times or more and then just some sections. I shot my first wedding yesterday and I put into practice alot of your advice, tips and instructions. As a result shooting my first wedding was a success. After about an hour being there, I started to really get into it and it was awesome. Some hiccups here and there but I overcame them without panicking. And I did indeed use the magmod system throughout the reception. I learned alot shooting this wedding and gained some much needed experience. Now I have to edit the photos and there is alot of them. I scanned through a bunch of them and all in all they look pretty good, some better than others. I will do better next time. And yes I had alot of fun during the reception party as well, I was not a fly on the wall. Thank you again for your videos and the help and knowledge you have provided me. You are an amazing wedding photographer.
I’m a Zambian wedding photographer and I absolutely love these videos ❤️
Awesome! Thank you for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the videos.
I’m shooting my first wedding on the 19th. I love seeing this stuff cause it gives me so much inspiration!! Thank you for your videos!!
Awesome! I'm happy that I was able to give you some inspiration. Do a great job at your wedding!
Thanks you for this in depth BTS. I learn the most from BTS videos without a doubt. It’s as close to hands on as it gets!
Awesome! I'm glad this was super educational. I hope to have a couple more in the future as well.
thirdeyesameuel So this is you’re mentor. I watch some of your videos and now I want to buy the rf 28-70. Now I can learn from the mentor from these videos, I’ma subscribe to both channels 😀
@@charismaticrell4206 glad to have you along for the adventure
Amazing video. Your shots are stunning. Seeing you get all those shots without flash is mind blowing. I photographed only 1 wedding and never again. I was a nervous wreck during and after it. Top tips on the magsphere flash diffuser. Bet the album was stunning.
Best wedding photography i've ever seen, thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for this! My friend hired me to do her wedding photos and you have given me invaluable knowledge. You’re amazing!
The countdown begins!! I'm super excited about this , I just might quickly go out and get some snacks and stuff to watch this😂 I am really excited! :)
You’ll deff need snacks. This thing is almost 2 hours long. I made a whole feature length film for you all!!
Stumbling upon this channel is a total blessing man. I love everything about what you shared. Thanks a bunch man. Love Your Work
I cannot stop smiling watching this video. It's perfect and even though it's for learning purposes, it is so well put together you can feel as if you were part of the wedding. I am just starting my photography journey and I am so grateful for this amazing bts video. Thank you.
You have made a story out of this marriage through your photography.!! Great stuff. Much appreciated.!!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video.
You successfully brought us in the wedding like we're with you. Inspiring! Great work! Keep it up!
Awesome!! Glad you enjoyed it and felt like you were there.
I love the way you take photos at a wedding! I think I got really taught after watching this video. Thank you so much for letting us show us the secret of wedding photography
Mind-blowing man impressive wishes from INDIA big fan bruuu
I learned so much, thank you!
Awesome! I'm glad I was able to help pass on some information.
Outstanding! One of the best photography videos on UA-cam. The standard of the images and the fact you managed to film so much so well too is incredible! I bet that took weeks to edit tho! Wow. Amazing vid, even if I wasn’t a wedding tog I’d have enjoyed this 👏🏻😊📷🏴
Thank you so much for this video and all your behind the scenes videos! I have learned so much from you in order to shoot a friend's wedding last weekend and it went awesomely! The bride loved the flat-lay, and this video really showed me how to set up the first look, which I had never seen before
This video is epic man... I realized how much my own wedding photos were missing in my own wedding!!! Great content and I appreciate your videos as I begin my journey in photography : )
Chat session was superb✌✌
My distance to fuji has been greatly reduced 😊😊
Thanks John 😍😍
Glad you enjoyed it. Closing that gap and getting you closer to #teamfuji!!
I just have to say, your pics are ridiculous!!!! You capture everything from the angles you use to expressions on their faces. Your body of work is REALLY good. Just a question, is there a reason why you didn't use flash during the ceremony???
Thanks for the kind words. So for the ceremony I could have used flash at least when they were walking out. Since at that point they were backlit. The rest of it the lighting in the area was just perfect for a nice almost "creamy" look to the photos. So I think that worked out well. But I just decided not to use flash because I knew I would be fine without it.
It helps when you have a good sensor where you raise shadows in post processing. With Cripple Canon you have to play safe and use fill in flash.
John, thanks for putting these detailed videos together. I don't shoot weddings (anymore) mainly commercial work, but I will for close friends and family. So these are great up to date refreshers for me before walking into a wedding again. Really liked your look so got hooked up with your presets also. Keep it up!!
Im a amateur photographer from Montreal Canada and ur work is amazing . I wish I could do 50% things you doing right know . I wish you more success and health . God bless you
Just a few more minutes until this premiers! :) This reminds me about how hyped I was to watch Endgame, funny enough it came out last year this time😂👌
lol. It's a legit movie premier!! 🙌

also me: *cries while watching the "first look" couple interaction*
Bro same I'm trying to get some experience. I think my main thing is that I'm scared of messing it up, like this is a very important moment and I'm just scared to not being able to get the shots I would like
I'm back again after watching this and man this is a wedding photography course on its own. Amazing work once again!
Enjoyed every single second of this video. Always a pleasure to listen to you interacting with people and your tips on all the aspect of your photography.
Great work John and stunning pictures!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing this awesome and incredibly detailed content! I have my first wedding as a photographer coming up in January and this has been incredibly helpful to prepare for it.
On a logistical note, about how many XT3 batteries are you using per camera during a 10 hour day? I plan to buy more before the shoot and wanted to hear your experience with battery life on the XT3 (if the info was in the video and I missed it, sorry about that). Thanks!
I seriously love this. And I think every wedding photographer should watch this on WEDDING DAY EVE...just to prepare! Great Job!
Thanks so much 😊
Honestly one of the most detailed and helpful video about event / wedding photography I have seen. Can't thank you enough for this!

Can't believe I watched the whole 1 hour 20 mins and I don't regret it lol.
WOW! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.

For sure my favorite video you have released to date . Are you glad that you have retired the 14 2.8 for the 16 2.8 ? Such a refreshing lens to the lineup. Stoked for all of this to clear up and get to the next wedding !
Glad you enjoyed it. I actually really do love the 16mm so far since switching. The 14 is great but the focusing on it is just slow.
Bro this was the best wedding photography video on UA-cam

Yep yep. All part of the job. I'm happy I was able to get what I needed.
Man, your behind the scenes full day shoot videos are absolutely priceless! So much feedback, info, details about light, posing, settings, direction, time and people management - I am not shooting weddings at all myself, but I am pretty sure I've watched ALL of your videos on the matter! So much knowledge, it's crazy! Thank you, sir!
One of the most underrated photography videos on youtube. When I started out I paid hundreds for tutorial videos that just don't stand up to this content. I also really want that holdfast setup!! Thank you, John, for this.
Hey John, 2024 and your video is still soooo valuable. Thank you for the effort making it.
I wish I would've watch before my first wedding shoot. Thanks for the tips 🙏
Thank you so much for sharing this. Seeing a step-by-step is immensely helpful, as I have my first full-day wedding coming up in 2 weeks. You're the best!
