- A brilliant though brisk animated adaptation of Dickens' beloved tale by master animator Richard Williams. First seen on US TV in the early 1970s, where it completely freaked me out!
I have the audio of the initial tv airing with the commercials. What a wonderful production.
I love this version of A Christmas Carol ! The animation is beautifully haunting.
Fantastic artristry in animation & depiction of a Christmas classic! Wish they made more of these.
This was the first version I remember seeing as a child! I love this story and this animation. Very atmospheric!
Thanks so much for uploading this! I was probably no more than 6 or 7 the first time I saw this, and it freaked me out, too!
I used to have this movie on VHS tape when I was a kid.. when I watched it for the very first time it scared me,then I started liking it more as years went by
Sadly, it seems that the only available sources for this are dilapidated old VHS versions, although there is a 4K version of this in the works! Would love to see a completely restored version of this (from original film elements).
What did Mr. Scrooge discuss with his nephew and the collecting for the poor charity men and Mr. Cratchit from 1:33 to 4:20?
Richard Williams' animation rivals Miyazake
Yet, it has NEVER had a proper (restored) HD release - all we have are these foggy, low-res uploads from VHS sources. Criminal.
