Was the anthem singer the same guy who voiced Mikey's singing voice from the Recess cartoon? Also can't believe this was 20 years ago already. Wild how time goes by.
2004 UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 Location: Las Vegas, Nevada Track: Las Vegas Motor Speedway Type of race track: Speedway Starting cars: 43 Finishing cars: 33 Laps: 267 Cautions: 6 Pole Winner: Kasey Kahne (9) (Rookie) Most laps led: Matt Kenseth (17) (123 laps led) Race Winner: Matt Kenseth (17)
These announcers were so clueless. Kenseth picks up one spot in the pits, and DW says his pit crew gained several spots. Mike Joy is talking and McMurray wiggled and Joy says that's the reason for Bush, Harvick , and Kenseth to take over spots 3-5. McMurray was in 12th. The racing was better but these announcers suck. DW tried to stick up for Mikey too much. Waltrip should have won a lot more races as he was in the same equipment as Dale, Jr
@@allenwhitmer8192 I don’t discount the mistakes you pointed out, but this was an era with a much busier broadcast. Lots of talking heads from pit reporters, to other analysts in the Hollywood hotel, etc. made a much more fast paced production. All 3 announcers spoke with urgency and intensity. I watch NASCAR every weekend and have my entire life, and I rarely feel like I’m watching the spectacle of American Motorsports anymore. But when I watched this, I just get sucked into it instantly. Feels like I’m watching a playoff game in the NFL or NBA.
In case any one is interested, the song at 20:56 is Rock Star by Everclear
25:30 Start
1:04:51 Ryan Newman crash
1:30:29 Jeff Green crash
1:45:33 Michael Waltrip crash
2:45:00 Final Laps
I believe Lucky would feel sorry for Jeff Green.
1:57:21 And that question got answered 14 years later.
Lucky Charms ARE magically delicious!
We need to bring the X pipe back that sound was awesome

even Kenseth really likes the old ones of winston system as well..fans and drivers wants it
The debut of some guy named Kyle Busch
Ah, the race where the 8 team literally went to the garage to fix the car when they were leading the points..
If this was today then he would of been done for the rest of the race for just going in once. Stupid rule by nascar.
If it's a mechanical failer you can go in and come out. If you were in a CRASH and go to the garage, then they give you a DNF.
It's insane how bad Jr. was in this race. It'd be like if Larson showed up with a 30th place car today. It just doesn't happen.
Best you can do is Larson running 15th all day at Gateway.
Good run by Kyle Petty
What's the music that FOX used as it's opening here?
The first race kyle busch actually qualified for
Whatever became of that Kyle Busch guy?
;-)
being handed a spot in the chase?
+Dillon Murway Not his fault Nascar was too stupid not to put a Safer Barrier on the inside wall at Daytona
He became an asshole.
What? Goulet!!
Made me think of Phil Harris' Back Home Again in Indiana. Not great.
Rough debut for the Busch kid
I doubt he'll become anything
Hmm.. let's see, 2015 champion, 2009 xfinity champion, yeah he never became anything alright
Oh and I forgot to mention he has 100 wins across all three series', haha what a bust!
2019 champion
@@razburry8001 smartass
@@razburry8001 His attitude and personality sure didn’t become anything special though 🤣
