I love Lancia! I'm 18 and I'm obsessed with the Fulvia and I am so convinced I want one as my first car, purely because I love cars, the Fulvia speaks to me more than almost any other car ever made, and I wouldn't mind spending an extra 3 or 4 grand over what my friends are spending, just so that I don't go down the typical toyota aygo / vw polo route. Thank you for doing these videos, they remind me why I love cars.
@@RetroRidingEveryday Unfortunately not, it was a series 2, lovely thing. However it really wasn't easy to own day to day and you never knew when a bombshell of a repair bill was just lurking around the corner. I'm glad I've got memories of my dream car now but the truth is it's a difficult reality sometimes.
Many years ago, I had a Flaminia Pf coupe. Paid $1200 and it came with the trunk literally FULL of spare parts - filters, cables, gaskets, rebuild kits for the carbs, boots for the drive axles, even some trim pieces and handles. It had the Nardi heads and 3 Webers and would cruise at 90-100 smoothly and quietly. The ex-wife and I did three trips from TX to CA in it and never had a spot of trouble; it even got over 20mpg on the road at speed, which was impressive (even if 5-star fuel was under $0.40/gallon back then). I parked it on the street in front of my favorite florist shop in Houston and a drunk idiot in a big Chrysler hit it at about 50mph...on a street with a posted limit of 30. The car was not repairable, even if the insurance company would have foot the bill. But I bought the hulk and salvaged most of the drivetrain for a spider that I still have 40 years later...and it even has the factory hardtop. I've had Ferraris, Maseratis, an Aston and a couple De Tomasos...but I eventually sold them all, and I still have the Lancia. GREAT cars, until Fiat intervened.
What a beautiful car. So many models I have never seen, it amazes me. I like this owner because he was down to earth and seems like he truly appreciates the beauty and quirks of these older cars. Very well done piece, too short as usual.
Great car from back in the days when Lancia was making obsessively detailled beautiful machines. Brings across the specialness of that car rather nicely!
Zagato did very well with this and also his little Fulvia coupé. Although the Flavia made efficient use of the space available for the body, was well put together, and had some interesting features, I don't think I'm alone in saying that the styling was more dramatic and striking than it was attractive.
@@p.kuansuwan2070 Thanks. Only a few Flavia Zagatos made their way here. I was lucky enough to own a Flavia Pf from the late 60's to the early 80's. It was much more suitable for aa young man, and also very well suited to the roads and journeys here. It was such a good car overall that my mother bought herself a Flavia sedan.
With my deep compliments; so few people know this wonderful choice; an italian style's great example; maybe one of the greatest; I had a 1955 Lancia AURELIA B20; find a movies about it and see another wonderful Italian car
Mr. Giaimo, this car really opened my eyes. The car is astonishing! Thanks Mister and ***** For this! I am 20 years old and born 50 years to late, and you make it possible to enjoy this lost years of automotive beauty.
I am a Lancista (I also like Alfas, of course..) and I do get sad watching these beauties because nowadays Lancias are miles away in terms of image and engineering but this is something you cannot avoid. To build cars like that, today, you will need the budgets of a supercar...
congratulations Mr. Robert Giaimo; I am a Lancia Club' supporter and I had FOUR Lancia car in my life; simply elegant; elegance is a state of our spirit, firstly
Excellent video. I love Lancias. Love Petrolicious too. Really well done. To correct the owner of this Lancia Zagato, it's pronounced LAN-CHA, not lan-see-a. Ciao
this would have competed with maserati and the other "junior" extremely high end brands back in the day... but given choices like the maserati 3500, aston martin db5, porsche 911. I would still take this car every time! the v6 has some of vittorio jano's magic in it and that alone makes it worth every penny
beautiful accompanying sound track.. the estate gateway is most cool.. cleverl 3 step ignition, and my bet is boot length isn't to stack ski's but golf bags. I always get something richer added from Pet-Tales when owner's home is woven into the tell .. Canyon
Can you please make a Video about a Tatra 613 Vignale aircooled DOHC?? Those early black ones with plenty of Chrome from CSSR, I love this car! I also would love to see a Tatra 603 with aircooled OHV V8! (the 1960s one)
That's the most beautiful lancia ive ever seen which is a big statement. I can't believe it's here in the states too. Id ask what it would cost to find one, but I'm sure I can't afford it. I'll stick with my boys toy Alfa Romeo 4c for now.
The photo with Mastroianni and his brand new Flaminia Super Sport is very famous! Theres also one with the Flaminia GT convertibile but i don't know if was his.
Santa Ynez valley is a beautiful area to visit and take photos. This is where Micheal Jackson had his infamous "Neverland" estate and Ronald Reagan's ranch "Rancho del Cielo" overlooked the whole area.
No James Bond had chosen the very sexy Fiat 2300S Coupe Ghia Abarth, that is very close to the Aston Martin DB5, or he had chosen a Ford Osi 23MTS Ghia ;-)
This vehicle is more than basic transportation, much more than something to get from point A to point B. This right here, is a work of art; inside as well as out. A legitimate masterpiece, and fuck anybody who thinks otherwise. Even the name "Lancia" is pure seduction; however, mispronunciation will do it a great disservice.
If you had a ferrari i assume you would have driven it as a special drive maybe a weekend or on a long tour every once and a while... point is not your daily driver, a ferrari would make the drive special. This lancia would make driving daily special back in those days because realistically it is a useable daily driver that could kick almost another car in its class *cough cough early 6 cyl maserati/aston martin
Attention Schlabubvvo!!!! That means all classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. Called Bundesabgasbespaßungsverordnung in German. 1
That's my dad! I am a lucky girl. Thanks for making such a beautiful video about my father and his beautiful car. Great work!
your welcome :)
U are beautiful like car is :)
Was this video shot in or around Santa Barbara? I think I've seen this exact car at my local Car&Coffee event
Adam Protter it looks a lot like Napa. He said he takes road trips in it though
Your Dad is excellent.
Petrolicious gets the like button every time before I even watch the video. Every video is nothing but excellence and they have never ceased to amaze.
completely agree.

From what I heard, they are a pain to maintain so I wouldn't get it for a first car especially when I don't have a money for a daily.
CorNVex Too late lol, I've had a Fulvia for about 18 months now. Total pain in the ass sometimes but I wouldn't trade the experience for the world.
Nice. I would really love to own one only if I had the money and if only I was old enough to drive.
@@Munkenba still owing the Fulvia? What series and model is?

There are a lot of great cars featured on this channel, but I keep coming back to this one.

What a beautiful car!
Why is it that the reviews on Vintage Italian cars always seem to resonate most. Another wonderful feature.
What a beautiful car. So many models I have never seen, it amazes me. I like this owner because he was down to earth and seems like he truly appreciates the beauty and quirks of these older cars. Very well done piece, too short as usual.
Great car. That guy seems like he's where I want to be when I'm in my mid-late 50s.
Beautiful car beautifully driven by a man who appreciates it's elegance. The Zagato lines are immediately apparent.
Great car from back in the days when Lancia was making obsessively detailled beautiful machines. Brings across the specialness of that car rather nicely!

What a beautiful car.
It is really nice that he enjoys driving it, this car deserves to be showed to the world.
