    Thank you so much for explaining the recessives. I started learning about snakes 4 months ago, and to date I’ve been reading books and watching the internet. I will probably start buying next year. The one thing that has been throwing me is the info on recessive genes. I think I needed the visual aspect of your board, and your explaining to understand it. A lightbulb went on in my head while you were explaining. Miguel from AEP told us to check you out and I’m glad I did. Thanks again. Pat

    Absolutely beautiful group of babies! This is the first time I've seen a ringer on a Clown! It's a big one too! Wow! By the way, is that clean orange possible Super Leopard available and is it a male or a female? I have been considering getting a Super Leopard that is het Clown especially if it has some gene like Yellowbelly to enhance it as a back-up female to breed to my Pastel Clown! In fact I like several in that group!

    • @IAMGiftbearer

      @@KINOVAReptiles Will do! I love how reduced it is but with nice big contrasting spots, and the Orange Dream is another gene I've been thinking of incorporating into my Clown project to brighten things up and bring in rich warm coloring. I don't know if you saw my recent unboxing. I was able to get ahold of a Leopard Spotnose 66% het Clown female from NoCo exotics whose sire has your lineage. She looks very similar to the 100% het Clown one you hatched out last year so I'm thinking she will prove out and she has scallops on her tail. I'll send you a picture of her.
      Have been meaning to send you a picture of my male Pastel (possible Blade) Clown's belly to see if you think he has Yellowbelly in him. He's got some noise on the edges of his belly but don't know for sure if that indicates Yellowbelly or if some Clowns have that on their own. Have just been dealing with alot of rat maintenence and litters lately and that's been taking up lots of time cleaning cages and preparing to create my own frozen thawed. One rat recently had a miscarriage and I've been keeping a close eye on her throughout the day. Luckily she seems to be out of the woods and is much better today. I have literally been falling asleep involuntarily because I'm so exhausted by the end of the day, then waking up at odd hours.
      I'll go take a closer look at these on your site now that I have a breather.

    So interestingly enough you stated that you would not be able to tell which ones were the 66% hets in this clutch. But to a trained eye like you have and through your years of experience you actually may be able to pick them out with certain indicators by sight. Would this be a correct assumption?

  • @lagunamusic7686
    @lagunamusic7686 Рік тому

    You didn’t even mention your odds if you need a male and/or female.
    In my situation I want to make visual triple recessives that are 100% Het and with ultra expensive combo I’m pairing to make that happen I only have 25% odds to pull the genetics I want, which is great odds but I also need a male and female of those genetics which obviously makes those odds a lot scarier because now what are the odds I get both a male and female in that 25%?

  • @dakotarohrer5520
    @dakotarohrer5520 4 роки тому

    so... lets say you get a Normal looking snake, how would you determine which genes its carrying that can not be seen on the outside, but are transferable to another clutch? That's what's confusing to me.

  • @LillaKraken84
    @LillaKraken84 5 років тому

    The ccp baby is technically 100 % het pied you just can't identify which one carries those genes so all the non pieds are 66% poss het, sorry if I'm being pedantic but there is so much confusion out there about this. Did you explain what the large letter and small letters are for in the other video?

  • @shanegraham8816
    @shanegraham8816 5 років тому +1

    Justin or anyone are ringers passed on in any way genetically or are they just a random mutation?

    • @Mike007_
      @Mike007_ 3 роки тому

      The ringer is no genetic. When you have visual pied parents in the clutch your ringer animals say that this one is 100% het pied. In pied clutches the ringer is the safest and best marker for het pied animals.
      A few cinnamon, champagne and black pastel combos also produces ringers. If you have champagne, cinnamon and black pastel and pied in the clutch its very hard to say that the ringer animal is het pied, you can only offer them as poss het pied because you don't know if it is a safe het pied marker, you can only find it out by breeding with a pied animal.
