11:58 however the map was created the specific game asset of tree allows more than 3 villis to chop. iirc that applies to the spawned trees near your TC as well, but not to full forests on the map, in a normally spawned match. *shrug* for what its worth. good video, drongo.
BUILD A TOWER ON THE WOOD edge then destroy it, it lights up a huge area. then select your town and vills and select the farthest most wood and they will channel right too it automatically
Ya should of sent a handful of vils to the other base, made a little space and tower rush them right at start... they cant do anything because they cant get their rams through and they cant cut the wood
I like how he didn't put a market down as one of the first buildings 15 mins go by and prices are tanked lol it'll take about 3 mins until prices are tanked no point making space early just tank all the prices
@Joseph Burchanowski i guess. Kinda want to try this with the mongols now. Consider they save alot of area not needing housing and their TC are wood only. Actually. This might sound completely cheese. But TC rush the enemie early game? Chop towards them. Pour all that wood into TC if you don't have space to deploy you can just pack em ans make space for a new and then another one. Now you can mass produce villagers, try free some area in the enemie base ans garrison the TC using then as a sort of mobile castle lol!
@@Kameeho I think you can do that, probably works well. Although personally I'd probably only outpost spam inside the enemy base, you can set them up easier and can fit more in each nook and cranny. If I get any spare space in an area, I'll drive over a few TCs. The biggest downside to trying to rush an enemy early game, is that if they are China and rushed the Imperial Palace, you are chopping yourself right into an ambush. I'd personally would rather go imperial as Mongols, get improved textiles, improved roller shutter, and improved forestry. And then just assault my enemy as a mass of villagers, magonels, and springalds; with constant outpost spam. (Tangent question, does the Kurultai buff the damage of siege too?) If you are doing a team game and have China as an ally, and if you spot an enemy team that lacks China, you could then plan an improved forestry ambush. Chop out an area to fit in a few dozen battering rams (they only cost 1 population). If the enemy has an army, set up another area where you'll chop in first and rush with forces. Their army will move there, then you can chop the flank and batter the enemy with a stampede of rams.
I haven't gone pass the 3 minute mark on the video; but if I had to guess what the broken strat is on Forest Nothing, the fact that he is Abbasid and has a teammate makes me assume it involves Abbasid's trader bonuses. On top of the massive amounts of gold income; they are one of the few civs able to get a lot of stone on Forest Nothing; meaning that they can spam stone walls and keeps. Lets see if I guess correctly.
@@GuilhermeBerger42 Yeah, I guess wrong. Path through trees to make forward lumber camp, spam archers and battering rams; cut through and catch the enemy off guard. It isn't a full proof strategy though. If you try it against China, you'll be met by an army waiting for you, or nest of bees raining from the other side of the trees. Imperial Palace is god tier on forest nothing. I wonder if they also banned China, as Drongo mentioned not being allowed to play Rus. I think Mongols might also be a civ that quick chopping to might go poorly; depending on how the Mongol player plays. Mongol's can TC spam on Forest Nothing; allowing them to get up to 200 villagers the quickest. You chop through, and you'll be met with over a hundred villager daggers, and as they die they get replaced by combat units. Edit: also mass mangonels counters it.
@@romandyomin671 With spying you can often see if your enemy has a mangonel mass. The vision also allows you to shoot over walls. So spying can be useful even in battles between siege units.
English would probably be insanely good as long as you micro well and get mills and farms out. The boosted food gather rate would allow you to sell food faster than other civs and once you make it to Imp, infinite gold. I've actually done Rus here and they are really good early on, but they have a hard cap of 500g/min from hunting cabins+High trade house, so then you have to rely on trading and the Golden Gate, but it is ultimately infinite gold. The earlier you get the hunting cabins up, the better. French should also be decent with the guild hall+cheaper eco techs. HRE would likely be quite with the Prelate allowing you to absolutely smash through forest as well as accumulate food faster, the Palace of Swabia in Imp for villager floods. Mongols will have an edge because they don't need houses, but they lose basically all of their civ specific bonuses without Stone, so that edge will only help for the very early game. China and Abbasid will be decent with their ability to produce vills cheaper/faster and they have increased gather rate techs, but they will struggle for gold. Delhi has the advantage of free techs, so that may be really good, but they have no way to get passive gold, so they will struggle to produce Scholars. Overall, kind of hard to say, but I think English > Rus > HRE > everything else EDIT: If you can trade through the forest the way the villagers moved, then in 2v2 games you would basically expect French, Abbasid, and Mongols to be the best.
@@Gunks_ Another advantage for Mongols is that they don't need stone to make more town centers. It only costs them wood. It allows them to churn out villagers faster than any other civ in forest nothing. If they convert that into getting to Imperial, they get access to stone and improve technologies through the White Stupa. Also since there is no gold to mine on the map; they can go kurultai which is really good for choke point fights. " China and Abbasid will be decent with their ability to produce vills cheaper/faster and they have increased gather rate techs, but they will struggle for gold." China won't struggle for gold compared to the HRE. The amount of taxes they can produce on Forest Nothing is a bit bonkers; especially if they ever end up throwing trash units into the enemy's meatgrinder of mangonels. They don't produce as much gold as Rus and the English; but they produce more non-trader gold than all the rest of the civs.
@@ramphislopezortiz3024 You need to get to imperial to get the White Stupa. Then you can get improved forestry (and if you want to meme, improved textiles).

HAHA this game was so fun man! GGs!! What I was saying was that my ally was completely walled off, so’ I couldn’t defend him in any way 😭🤣 poor lad
Ctrl+w then click uncut trees, then place stuff on freshly cut trees. STONKS

YESS I WANT TO SEE MORE OF THIS RIGHT HERE, DRONGO!
you shouldve built traders and traded through the forest with your teammate for gold
Rus, imagine the amount of cabins to generate gold :O
what if you just make a bunch of scouts at the beginning of the game and harrass villagers through the forest like some shadow ninjas or something?
There should be a 'short tress' mod. To play this map.
Love to see you playing again more drongo keep up the awesomeness
mogolians with the oovoo wood chopping tech would slap on this map.
U cant build oovoo cause there is no stone
It feels like being able path through the forest in forest nothing is not intended

Even if mangos don't knock down trees like other aoe's surely a bombard should take out a few at a time
The best troll would be to exchange names with your teammate.
I so wanted you to send traders to your ally and get steady gold flowing
Any idea when this update will be released?
HRE inspired food gathering would be op
On custard games, I like how you pronounce the word "Hea" [here as weze says in NYC, hows about youse?]
CUSTARD games 😋
Now we just need a Small tree map xD so we can see the trees better xD
This was so entertaining!
DO IT LIVE, what does it mean to do it live. I dont know what that means. WELL DO IT LIVE!
imagine how much gold hunting cabins could generate on this map hahahah
Sucks custom like Forrest nothing not available for game pass
I'm amazed this game is shorter than your arena cast.
Can you play the Rus on this map?
mangonels are going to be champs on this map
if only there were stone in this map, you could clear out the entire forest in record time as mongols.
Just go Imperial and get the White Stupa. Then get improved forestry, and now you can deforest the land to your heart's content.

on aoe2 you make your way to the ally. then do trading. So normallx shouldnt be big of an issue
