The sheet in your amazon link does not look anything like the sheet you used in your video. Do you have a better link to the actual product?
Ours was cut from a roll, but the link in the description is the same thing really. Just a different color, but will achieve the same end results. Here's a link to a roll of the black teflon. amzn.to/2GTMXgR

@@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 This is vinyl, not teflon.
Thanks for the share.
Any time!
Awesome tip Amigo. I will definitely try this because I have a big issue with fibrillation. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! Are you on an auto or manual?
@@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 I'm a manual. Just started a year ago, and I've been wanting to fix this fibrillation problem because I don't like how the prints come out. My clients don't really see a problem but since I do have a small clothing brand, It bothers me because I want to treat each print job as if it was for my own brand. Your video gave me a great idea.
I'm confused do you use a Teflon sheet or a sheet of vinyl?
Use a teflon sheet and you'll be good to go.
Hey Matt! Great video... I am going to do this for my manual press, are you just leaving the foil adhesive in the screen and setting it aside when not in use or are you cleaning it out? Also are you still using the foil adhesive?
Thanks! I did the same thing for the manual and works great. I tend to just leave the adhesive in there. I'm still using the foil adhesive.
Does your press need a flattening screen or does it matdown the fibers properly?
You'll always get a smoother print with a flattening screen. The temperature outside makes a difference too. Inks won't flow as well when they are a little cooler. We do not always use a flattening screen because if we are print a color on top and we are using all 6 heads, the second screen generally will flatten the print.
Great Tip! I’ve heard about doing the flattening screen this way. This is great, I need to do this. Thanks MATT !
Give it a try! Much more cost effective and less prone to issues due to silicon sitting on your base and shirts.
Hey Matt, when you print on 100 poly, do you just print thick, and lower the cure temperature, or is there more to it? Also, what mesh 160?
When I print, I tend to not try to print thick unless that's what the client wants. That way it's not like wearing a big piece of plastic. Just depends really from job to job. I like to use One Strokes NP Poly White which is really creamy and allows me to use higher meshes. I try to stay away from 110s. 156 mesh is generally what I use as my lowest mesh. Cure temp is lower, around 260º. I hope this helps some. This is just me. I encourage people to experiment and see what works for them.
@@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 Thanks
Anytime!
hello, ready to make this version, my version i had just used a no image emulsion screen and used strips of the clear blockoput tape 6" witdh but every so often i get a pc of tape that sticks and pulls down so I have many patches, do I got the roll of teflon ( the brownish one from the amazon link) and the 3m 90 spray glue. i know to spray the teflon, *( is there a backside or front side) should i use a scour pad on one side where the clue is going to promote better adhesion?
same to the emulsion side, should i lay on a couple extra coats of emulsion, then scours the smoothness out just so slightly? lastly did you also spray the underside of the screen ( on the emulsion with the 3m 90 too, or just the teflon? and I see you have an anatol volt now? correct? what temp and time and preheat % are you using to acheive the best flattening effect without any sticking, I have had a 8/7 volt with the aries 2 for about a year and a half and would love to pick your brain on some techniques you may have, that I have created ( as i am a self certified efficiency engineer, meaning I figure out ways from my old production days in lancome and johnson & johnson to let the machine do the work for me
Be sure to check out our videos on how to use a flattening screen for both a manual and automatic press.
