This acne guide *AcneCureOnline. Com* was very informative and helpful. I often go through gentle adult acne and this guide discusses all the possible solutions for mild to severe acne whether natural procedures or otherwise. I prefer the natural way of treating them and I found out on this guide the treatments that work efficiently.

My dermatologist is incredibly reliable and a respected professional, but she just took 1 look at me and prescribed
    1) Epiduo (Adapalene + Benzoyl Peroxide )
    2) Clindamycin
    3) Oral Hormonal Therapy
    4) Blood Tests to change Hormonal Therapy to a stronger one (the Pill) if needed
WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION, I wish she told me what these products are supposed to be doing.
Thank you for your explanation, now I understand I need to be patient with redness, irritation, itching, peeling etc, as they’re a normal part of healing!! :D
(I’ve only been doin this treatment for a month, but I can really see my acne calming down and reducing to small spots where it was less severe, now I just need to le patient and wait for my skin to regenerate like it’s supposed to)

meena mee Hi Meena, we are all different but for me my diet was the culprit. I did an elimination diet called the Whole 30 for a month then I transitioned to Paleo. Basically I cut out dairy, grains and sugar. I think dairy mostly added to my acne trouble. Acne was so frustrating for me, it got super bad after I had my first baby but thankfully the diet cleared me up after years of trying all the topical creams. I wish you so much luck on your journey.

Hmm this is somewhat confusing on the retinoid section. It's mentioned and it's true that retinoids have to be converted to retinoic acid but the examples given I believe aren't part of that situation. Tretinoin is already bioactive retinoic acid. Adapalene and Tazarotene are both third generation retinoids that are already bioactive even though they're not retinoic acid, but they do bind to the same sites. I was hoping to get some information on what the key differences are in the pharmacology between tretinoin and adapalene.

PLEASE don't take accutane!!!!( I took only 20 mg but even low dose was bad)
I am very grateful I became aware early of the side effects in my second round of accutane which was 1 year after the first round. In the first round I took accutane for 5 months on low dose for mild/ moderate acne. It drys your body organs and has caused me mild Fatty Liver Disease(which I caught on early), irregular periods, a fibroadenoma which I have mistaken for malignancy and caused huge pain and anxiety for months.
Alternative: Get an estrogen test and your doctor will prescribe supplements to balance your hormone levels, which in turn will clear up your face even better than accutane. I WISH I had known all of this earlier😭

    • @SpeedPharmacology
      @SpeedPharmacology  4 роки тому +1

      P. acnes is part of our skin's natural microbiome. Some but not all strains of the bacteria promote acne-causing inflammation. It is able to recolonize quickly after a round of antibiotics.

@@BiffWebster100 Thanks, I am going to start taking it soon. The doctor asked for blood exams first. So you never had problem with acne after that, right? I wanna get rid of it for good.

I stopped using adapalene and my acne came back. What can I do now till I take my next dermatologist appointment ? Is there a way to stop them for a few days? Im not able to plan my dermat appointment because of busy schedule and cant risk having acne back coz I'll be having events next week.

Mhm. So retinoids just unplug the follicle via pushing new cells from behind. Based on this I thought if you had psoriasis (which is characterized by quick maturation of keratinocytes) you would make everything worse if you used retinoids. I googled and I am wrong, actually it's even a treatment vs psoriasis. Anyone know why? Is it like a "restart" for the keratinocytes?

As far as I know the exact molecular mechanism by which retinoids are able to exert their effects on psoriasis is unknown. However, in psoriatic keratinocytes retinoids appear to produce antiproliferative effects, normalize abnormal differentiation, and decrease expression of inflammatory markers

But they also speed up skin turnover, which seems beneficial for someone dealing with this skin disorder as it would help prevent the buildup of skin layers. (?). It also normalizes things, which would also be helpful for preventing psoriasis-I would think.
