    We need more officers like this. "It only takes one bad apple to spoil the whole barrel" its The ones that are power tripping that are really ruining their reputation for everyone

    Autistic kids elope. They can't help it. This officer is so kind and empathetic. I love that he offered to fix the child's bike so he could play that summer and also bought him a helmet. My husband also recently fixed the neighbors boys bike when his tire came off in front of our house.

    Great work to the officer. The boys parents should look at either an AirTag (or similar tracking device) and place it on a necklace or something that he would keep on, a kids watch with a few programmable numbers/tracking GPS, or some other method to find him quicker. The area looks like it may be busy and having peace of mind knowing exactly where he is at will help so much.

      He does have one that is how the officer was able to find him. If you hear in the beginning of the video the officer said his id was tracking close to him so he wasn't far. He probably has a medical tracking bracelet on because he wonders away so much and he's autistic.

      Kids with autism do a thing called elopement. They run away! It happens a lot with kids on the spectrum..They just wander off..

    • @jeremymalouf3513
      @jeremymalouf3513 29 днів тому +1

      My kiddo has done the elopement thing a couple of times. He is on the spectrum. It is a feeling they get when they can't process a situation.....least that was what it seems like to me. Great officer, great kiddo!

    • @NikB331
      @NikB331 28 днів тому

      @@jeremymalouf3513 exactly..I believe from what I'm reading from comments, people do not understand. They believe they are running from something..like abuse! That's not the case in a lot of autistic children, and adults..Maybe someone with an autistic family member could explain elopement much better than I could?!!!!!

    • @goddesst5290
      @goddesst5290 25 днів тому +1

      My son is autistic and we had this issue until middle school. It's not that they are being abused it could be that they like another person, place, or thing. An example is my son loved the beach and he would want to go all the time so he would leave at night in search of the beach. For a child with autism it could be anything that makes them elope also known as wandering.

      Yeah, that to me seems like a child not getting his way so he runs away not autism. I know there’s different spectrums on the scale my 23 & 26yo has it but that just seems like I’m not getting my way. I don’t wanna listen because there’s rules. And my 26yo would have fits if he didn’t get his way, I can tell
      How the kid answered I need a tire and a bike. Who knows but whoever the parent/guardian is they should really seek help to get this under control somehow or it’ll be a disaster when this kid gets older especially in school and around other kids.
      I’m with @yoginkaltri333 on the investigation tip

    It's so hard to be an eloper. Even now as an adult when I am almost at meltdown status I have to GO. It doesn't matter where, I just have to get out of wherever I am. Sometimes I just drive in one direction for hours. Luckily as a kid all my family lived on the same block so when I ran from my house I'd go to one of theirs.

      It's GPS alert tracking for persons with special needs. The device can be worn (like a watch) or attached to clothing.
