This song (headlights) doesn't get enough recognition for being so great as well as songs on the album like: bad guy, stronger than I was and legacy, idk why some people don't like stronger than I was but I love it
@@teddyfield2164 yeah I agree Rap God is a good song, it's just overrated. There are better songs better than Rap God such as Bad Guy, Legacy, Brainless, Love Game and Evil Twin
it doesn't lack of anything the song is sang in quite fast and grinted way that makes you feel what place he was raised in and how he was treated, but also a tribute for his mother, for disrespecting
The song def hit home for me. My Mom was diagnosed with lymphoma last October and is refusing treatment. She hasnt always been the best Mom but she always took care of us. I hope if she hears that song or even if she sees this she knows I'm sorry for any pain that I've caused and that I love her no matter what.
DramaKingProd My mom doesnt "let me go on youtube." I'm an adult and I make my own choices. My comment was geared towards the video. Not you. My Mom has cancer now so yes I do feel like my life sucks from time to time. This song made me feel a little bit better about the situation but I forgot humanity has lost every single shred of respect for others and we're raising a bunch of little assholes now.
One of the most powerful song I have ever heard in my entire life. It was so exciting because specially in the rap industry these type of songs have pretty much went extinct. The story telling and meaningful song. All you hear these days is mumble rappers with repeated words talking about money sex and drug
this is fascinating to me. I wish he talked more about it. I'm curious to know how Eminem I got wrapped up into this. these are two of my favorite artists who come from different worlds. How did this happen?!?!
Eminem In his prime I'm so blessed and thankful. I got the opportunity to be The right age at the right time. To get the opportunity to Be able to say I was around At the time when 50cent was signed and G-unit it was so sweet like I used to live in Virginia, Suffolk And there was a lot of different types of people. I mean basically when I live in Connecticut and went to middle school. I'm not racist or anything at all. I used to only have like 5 blacks in my school But Virginia was a whole new story. It was like 98% put on a slave. But honestly I used to go through things. You know I've been jumped fights. Whatever music that helped me pump up to go to school thinking about certain things. Or somebody who wants to kick my a** and just feel tough. And I suggest you know. Listen to 50 Cent and Eminem. All the hard songs to just pop myself up on the school bus or walking the hallways high school..I used to play Obie trice cheers album or D12 all of Shady Records-Aftermath Entertainment... I remember when my dad ordered to get Richard died trying CD for me and this is way before I even really liked rap that much. I mean, I was listening to a lot of Eminem and all that back then in middle school, but basically my friend brought over the guess. Who back album that 50 Cent puthough? So I kind of like falls and listen to. I mean, this is kind of at the time that I never really jumped into my own artists and hip hop that I like I mean eminem was always my favorite matter or someone like for her not
Alrite I see your point. Sorry for calling you an idiot dude. SirPwnAlot But that still doesn't mean "the original song" was mother by John Lennon. The two songs have similar beats and deal with similar topics but overall they sound very different. This song isn't a copy of any other song! But I see point, maybe I just need to lighten up.
That was one hell of a boring story, great song though. I prefer Em to be rapping in the choruses too but sometimes it works great with a singer, Stan, Love The Way You Lie, Headlights.
***** Actually I think Monster is awful, it's so cut and paste. The chorus clearly has nothing to do with the verses and Em obviously tried really hard to make it fit (look at the gap between 'weirder than you think' and then the hook) but couldn't manage it. The hook itself is great but the song doesn't flow, it's like Lighters. Headlights...now THAT fits and flows perfectly.
TheCamorra2011 this is 6 years late but I think it fits, the ‘monster’ under his bed is slim shady as shown in the video, and in the verses he’s talking about his career, mostly his slim shady songs
@@zainkhalil7494 i'm still here fella. yeah that's a good point but he obviously made that connection after he'd been presented with the original song....then he cut to work with the cut and paste and finding a meaning...and even still, I don't think the hook and the verse flow together in the way Stan, Headlights, and Love The Way You Lie do. His songs with Ed Sheeran have this problem too. The last 2 albums have been fucking great though with more rapped choruses again
I don't get it Nate wrote the song but someone in F.U.N wanted to put EMINEM in it and then someone changed the lyrics and changed the song name to Jumping the Shark then to Headlights? I think
Eminem has a young Brother who coincidentally is called Nate he is also in the music career he wants to be a rapper like M&M... just google Nate Mathers.
Nates part was better than eminem's and I think eminems was great too......but Nate's was just epic and I wish he would release it as a single......was so beautiful
Obviously the hook has to be great to make attract listeners...the verse has to tell a story not be on the melodic side...and you Obviously listen to music for flows not lyrical content
Mayson00 Eminem wrote Nate's 1st and 4th verse just so u know, when i heard it the first time i thought the only verses was 2 by Eminem but Nate has 2 verses also
I think the song was very mediocre but the story behind it was pretty cool. Then Eminem had to go and release a song about punching a woman in the face.
to the people who are still confused after two years, Nate wrote his part, and Marshall wrote his
thank u captain obvious :P
izzywolf22 But are they related
BrightProduction that's a different Nate lol.
eminem have lil brother called nathan . and thats a different nate..

RAP GOD
So overused
Pretty much the whole album is better

With RAP GOD
rap god is alright but i think the best songs that need recognition from the album are headlights, legacy, bad guy, and rhyme or reason
mike giuliano completely agree with you mike giuliano
it's the best song lyrically speeking :)

OK she's not the best mom? Is that why u get to go on youtube? Stop acting like your life sucks

GOAT song.
If I ever had an opportunity to do a track with eminem I would change some of my lyrics too big props to nate and slim
This song is based off of John Lennon's song "Mother"

This song came out 6 years ago????????? I was searching UA-cam and looking for videos like 2 years ago.
Jamming to it right now
The original song was "mother" by John Lennon
you are an idiot!
adhilAKApeekaboo Actually he is smart because this has the same beat as that song...

Love that song!
The original song was called jumping the shark I believe, look it up.
perfect song actually
The interviewer looks like Arwin from the suite life of Zack and Cody

Nate reuse and enimin you gu yes are such a good singer
Just want you guys to know Nate is his brother
Different Nate
Do nate and eminem share a father or only a mother?
I still don't get what your meaning? I'm so confused 😕

nice
Did he ever realise the original?
Isn't Nate Ruess Eminems little brother I'm confused
Dido probably saying the same thing her song was actually a hit and Eminem elevated it higher dido and Nate are both great songwriters
I made a typography music video feat Nate Ruess & Eminem for Headlights come check it out

Nobody knew him but after that ft. So he shold be grateful
Uhm... Not true. He's the lead singer of Fun. Everyone knows that band. Think before you write
Samantha Salmonson why are you so rude like fr
jj morrison shes not rushe shes right
Uh, people knew who he was before this song. Just because you didn't, doesn't mean "everyone."
I know
whatta cutieee 😍😍😂
Jumping the shark
Mad respect for Em but I think Id prefer just a vocal song on this track. Yes that leg cross is fem much lol
👍👏💕👑🎤👶
He looks like Mark Wahlberg lol
😭😭😭😭so Eminems part he didn't write
He did write it he changed it from the original
Lol! Eminem always write his music! But he wrote his part and Nate wrote his one...
Wait so the song was about him not eminem?? Im Shook!!
What?!?.
If Mark Wahlberg was an effeminate gay
So Eminem didn't wrote the song
He must have, because it's personal about his mom and includes in the text his little brother and shit.
Eminem wrote his part (Verses); Nate wrote his (Chorus)
Mayson00 Eminem wrote Nate's 1st and 4th verse just so u know, when i heard it the first time i thought the only verses was 2 by Eminem but Nate has 2 verses also
+Slender Man wtf question is that? Have u ever listened to the song? :P How could Nate write about Ems childhood? I mean c'om on
dat leg cross is so distracting aha
did em just use the hook theres no way nate wrote ems verses is there lol
Poor tortured artists.
could this guy be any worse of a speaker
Lier theres no nmn
Id be well annoyed cause it's ft nate when he wrote the whole song!!?
He wrote the hook. Thats all
Nate your very creepy. Who do u think u are? U are so lucky to work with pink n eminem. Get over yourself
I think the song was very mediocre but the story behind it was pretty cool. Then Eminem had to go and release a song about punching a woman in the face.
