Apologies for the wobbly camera work early and the "cat" interruption that begins around 14:20.

Good analysis. This isn't the game I was recalling from my childhood, which was Waddington's 'Battle of the Little Bighorn' - played on a board with plastic figures and far less sophisticated than this.

I was given the game you mention for Christmas in 1968 and have fond memories of such. It represented the understanding of history at that time when they believed Custer had attacked with his whole command of 5 companies, was repulsed, driven back into the hills, and wiped out. I remember replacing the individual game figures with groups of Airfix (1:72?) plastic figures (the type that came in boxes). I believe there are still occasional copies of the game for sale on Ebay and admit being tempted for the sake of nostalgia - I think my copy was given to a nephew and subsequently lost 😢.
