      I actually think the Bullit looks better, especially in the color Matt selected. If I was making the purchase though, I would buy the base Shelby GT350. It is lighter and altogether more engaging with that tremec 6 spd manual. That flat plane crank V8 has an intoxicating sound also.

    I’m a lover for any performance vehicle that car companies provide for us to drive. 4 banger, 6cyl, 8cyl, etc.. there’s always something that fits your needs when it’s just you and your car. My current vehicle is a manual, but give props to this DCT and technology. Never have and probably never will get a chance to drive this gt500, but the reactions from these people driving this monster seem to smile

    Matt- you obviously had to finally launch at low 1,400 rpm to prevent wheelspin from a "not very well prepared" drag strip (not grippy enough). Also the track is 2,000 feet up, so less available HP. On a sticky track with a higher rev launch, at sea level and no head wind, it will be in the high 10 sec range.

    How would you compare the Tremac dual clutch 7-speed transmission with the ZF 8 speed auto?

    Curious what the deal was with the crackles and pops. Jay Leno's GT500 was crackling like crazy. He had the track pack, not sure if something is different about the exhaust, but there's clearly some difference which I find interesting..
    Definitely an awesome car, but I agree that missing the supercharger whine is a real bummer, that was always a key element of big SC hitters like the hellcat and the Cobra.
    Curious how this will do against the ZL1 1LE at the track and also curious about how it'll do against the hellcat redeye at the strip. Will be interesting, what a time to be alive!

    Great detailed review Matt, love that orange color. It’s certainly a beast not sure it’s worth the premium over a 350 though.

    Great to see another perf version of the Mustang but a couple things I don't like. The first is that Gloss black bumper piece in the grill, reminds me of the Camaro and generally ruins the "big mouth" look of the front, IMO. Next are the rims, the style is boring and don't fit the cars intimidating looks, plus their the default gloss black finish. Finally you can't hear the supercharger, would be nice to sound great upfront as well as out back.

    How the HELL did your camera man beside you stay quiet while you were completely losing it Matt? Is he a mute? 🤣 Sorry mate I couldn't keep quiet!!!! Great job C-man 🎥 😎👍🏻 Here in Oz we can't get the GT350R or 500R in RHD, so Ford Australia in conjunction with Herrod Performance have just released an "R-spec" model. Check it out Matt!!! Great review & yes mate I'm still loving my Bullitt too👍🏻

    Looks like you really enjoyed the acceleration of the new GT500...LOL. Loud supercharger whine is overrated by the way. TVS (Eaton based) superchargers tend to be quieter than the louder twin-screw superchargers like Whipple and Kenne Bell.

    How did you get the press credentials to film the driving when so many other youtubers didn’t?

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  5 років тому +1

      I was on the regular media drive. They were on a different event a few days later that just did the track stuff and didn't include the on-road driving. I regularly go on press trips with lots of different manufacturers and do more traditional reviews which is why I got to go on the regular press drive. The vloggers don't usually go on these events so they're not on the invite list typically.

      The GT350 also has a engine that screams to 8500 rpm, high revving n/a engines are the most fun to drive imo, the noises they make 👌

      Driveitsideways 1 - Ford GT and Bullitt also have a great V8 sound from engine and exhaust. They all sound great. Voodoo scream sounds raw and more edgy then the GT. Predator same as GT but much louder. All are fun to drive but manuals are engaging and make a more intense experience for driving enthusiasts!
