Ever since I heard this version played by Jeroen van Veen a few years ago, other (faster) versions can't satisfy me anymore. Every note goes straight to the heart! Thank you.
I own this album and I can't begin to relay the peace its brought to me. I bought it in Tenby in Wales for about £9 when my sister was staying there on vacation just as I was starting to collapse emotionally. I had never had a mental breakdown before that point and it was a weird time but this music got me through the drive back and ultimately I survived. I've been in steady work for a while now, I still enjoy the odd glass of absinsthe to celebrate this man!
Van Veen's version possibly bears on maestro De Leeuw's one, dating back from 1982 and possibly the very first with a true slow tempo doing perfect justice to Satie's work
Actually this is finally the Satie that we've been waiting for for too long. The deep relaxing "yogic" effect is a real game changer. Truly rebellious interpretation of a "lazy" rebel that he was is a move to support! Nothing real ever happened with his music except "Blood Sweat & Tears" adopting his theme for two flutes and a guitar on their second album which is as epic as it gets. This an "anti" social statement that fights for a right to be non competitive and not caught up in the game of illusionary domination victories of the small minded. Can not be too slow. He is saying "No!" on purpose. And "No!" means "No!". Definitely a big "YES!" from my side to the Brilliant Classics team! #YESMEANSYES
A marvelous and careful manipulation of materials inflamed by temperate spirit ... There are very few moments when the intensity of what is presented here is imposed at this point !
This Slow Music from Satie conveys inner wisdom to a Masterpiece. It's very beautiful! The picture brings somewhat of a peaceful and solid achievement. A fine piece of Art 😊👌👌

That feeling when a beautiful song is slowed makes you feel sad and emotional just because of how it flows.

van Veen absolutely OWNS the Satie....the best ever....stretched beyond limits of sonority and particle physics....BRAVO!

Perfect for meditation sessions, for observing the mind, for finding the creative joy of stillness...
Best album for studying, even my parrot fell asleep :)
The transcendent Satie. The Dada is present even here. Dramatic minimalism induces a powerful amount of chills!
this is the perfect speed for me thanks for the upload and love to the pianist

كرم موسيقي يلج القلب خلسة، يخشى الحرس، فيتعمد السير ببطء، آه عليك لا تتركني وحيدا وسط هذه السعادة الحزينة

musica di grande equilibrio e rara sensibilità emozionale
Très beau recueil . Belle interprétation . Pour ceux et celles qui aiment Satie , une compilation à conserver
Inderdaad ,maar een tikkeltje sneller zou toch wel mogen .

This is beautiful. Seriously. Beautiful.
This is actually one hell of a masterpiece, it enhances the dark and serene feeling of Satie's music. Absolutely beautiful, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing this delightFULL album!!! : )
My pleasure!
Music to watch sunlight reflect on dust particles as they settle.
Beautiful.
I loved Erik Satie
Healing's good.☺
True Modern music!
Très très belle!
I love Satie but the slowness is quite different.
Nice music😎👍👍 !
very good at nap for my kids ;) 우리애들 낮잠시간에 딱이에요!
En mi opinión es excesivamente lenta en esta interpretación.
Too slow for my taste. I prefer faster interpretation. It might be Ok if I listen to it while watching the rain at the window ;)
Maybe Pascal Roge’s interpretation is better for you
Lindo!
concordo: un controllo melodico che coglie l'essenza
Slow, I assume, is referring to the composer as much as the music
i agree, but also is refferring to the interpreter?
Quite Happy to die at any point listening o this....
Too slow, it loses its meaning at this snail pace, we are not waiting for the amber bead to form nor for the fern to become a fossil!
You're not engaged enough. If u were you'd realize it's at the perfect pace
@@joshtkd1706 I was half joking but I still think Satie would agree with me. I am extremely engaged with Satie's works. I have been for 40 years.
It's very slow...
I like it...
but i think...
....
I think I' m gonna... sl...ee...p...zzzzzzzzzzzzz...
Too much pedal and echo in the hall...
I'm almost certain that that's wanted in that way
:D
something is wrong with your record player. maybe check the batteries. T O O S L O W
Yes !! Not the interpretation Satie would have wanted to hear.
