Awesome game with fantastic graphics and music!
Every secret in the game is shown!
However there is a small issue where the text in the speech bubbles is displayed wrong at some point - most likely an emulation error or a game bug. -

Graphics by Henk Nieborg, one of the all time great masters of pixel art.
Thanks to your comment I discovered lots of his other amazing works. Huh, looks like it's a good idea to google people responsible for graphics in games with astonishing art.
Breathtakingly amazing
This game looks more like a Neo Geo game than a Sega CD game! Stunning!
And it looks just as good on a regular Genesis. Talk about graphic power!
This has got to be one of the best looking platformer EVER! People slag off the mega cd but it just goes to show that the mega cd was capable of producing very good looking and playing games! I love my mega drive/mega cd/32x/everdrive ;)
back2skooldaze The game was made with the Sega Genesis hardware alone. It had cartridge release only in Europe. It was later ported to the Sega CD and brought to the states. The only difference is the CD version has a cd remixed ost.
Wrong the game was created with the CD format in mind it has longer levels with more detailed graphics on the Mega CD and Amiga CD 3. The Mega Drive is a cut down version due to cartridge limitations.
wizzgamer is right. This has been confirmed by the creators. Plus, they had to cut two languages (Spanish and Dutch) in the Mega Drive version as well. Both of them are present in the Mega CD and Amiga CD32 versions.
WOW! the art direction in this game is amazing
+1Muzition1 it looks so good but plays so incredibly sluggish
What's even more impressive is... It was done by one person
me too thats very awesome looking game for a 1994 game same with sonic cd
that this game looks amazing and the graphics looks so new for a 1993 game in mega cd
Hugely underrated game and very skilled play!
Me puedo dar por satisfecho solamente con éste juego.
Muy impresionante aún ahora.
Damn, this is a gorgeous game! I thought it was kinda cool how they did the credits, too.
Never heard of this game before. Looks pretty damned good.
Now I see where Lomax on the PS1 got its art direction from! Never knew this existed.
sega cd didn't have many great games... glad we had games like flink.
Magical Quest + Adventures of Lomax = Flink
Just missed me the last level , thank you for showing me what was missing , I zeroed several times decades ago and did not know why not ended or open the cell !!!
First played this on release. It`s an amazing game. Well played!
I had this on Megadrive, the game was visually above most of it's kind.
and I must say I am enchanted by the music. so much better than the MD.
I just knew this was by the same guys who did The Adventures of Lomax on PS1. You can really see the resemblance in the outstanding pixel art! Some of the best I've seen. (Also see Lionheart on the Amiga by same guys).
wow, this game is so nicely drawn, it reminds me lionheart from Amiga.
Beautiful game, beautiful playthrough.
i got this on megadrive. its a great game i enjoyed it. they definately dont make them like this no more.
Never saw this intro, pretty awesome :)
Just gonna play once again to this great game :)
This is making me feel trippy
This is much better than the cart version the Mega Drive is a beast with it's add-ons installed and still decent without.
Lemmings cameo!
Nice to see a fun game taking advantage of the sega cd besides FMV and rail games:)
bellissimo questo gioco
Great game, CD is the version to play.
I really hope Sega will release some of the good Sega CD and 32X games on modern systems, perhaps as part of the Sega Ages collection! They may have been commercial failures, but that doesn't mean they aren't without some noteworthy titles that need more attention.
amazing skills. pleasure to watch
1:09:08 NO!! LEMMINGS!!!
This game has the most RANDOM music melodies I've ever heard in a game. It's like listening to someone have a seizure on a Casio.
In any case, this is a LOT better than the horrible SEGA Genesis/Megadrive version.
Even SNES has a better soundchip.
anybody notice how everytime he messes up a magic spell the cauldron does something different and if you also notice at 1:09:07 those tiny creatures with the green hair and blue shirt are lemmings LOL you kicked them right into the lava awesome!!!!!!!
What!? That´s a nice little easter egg right there, man!
I had this game was fun indeed
they lied..they were never back :( Amazingly skilled play!!! Best game on Mega Drive,,,
¿they are not the same from "the adventures of lomax in lemmingland"?.
@@jonathancristal Yes, they are, so they were back, they didn´t tell us they were back. Hahaha
DONT KICK THE FREAKING LEMMINGS DUDE
the greatest american hero and flink are like twins sweet
Mega cd version it's stunning, look like lomax on ps1(same creators, i know)
Loved lomax, one of my favourite platformers
This is like a wish granted, the music is better here.
I complained SEGA Genesis/Megadrive have a generic soundfont.
I prefer this version over the cartridge version simply because of the music. The cartridge version had terrible music that sounds like it was off-note
This and The Adventures
Of Lomax demand a re-release.
I fucking love this game!! Sooo beautiful!
Anyone know who composed the music for this CD version?
Yes - it was me. Long time ago.
I got this awesome game Aventures of Flink in my Sega Genesis Mini. 😁👍
Didn't know this game until today. Gorgeous pixel art and animation! Too bad there are no more games like this. This should be re-released (unlikely, Psygnosis is dead). I did'nt like the music, actually, I think its pretty bad. But I need to find this game for my old Mega Drive anyway. Henk Nieborg stuff should be in museums, last game I've played with his artwork was Shantae's Revenge: Risky Business.
Very similar to Berenstain Bears
Lovely
There is a cartridge version
I have the CD32 version of this game, but it is clearly inferior to this version. The intro is missing, there are less graphic effects and there is even a corrupt sample when defeating enemies. It must have been rushed, because I think it could have been as good as this version.
Gives SMW a run for its money.
Ive got the megadrive version and its very impressive. Are there any more differences between that and the cd version?(other than better sound/cutscenes obviously.
@benjamillion There is a very good reason for that.
I think this game was a bit better detailed on the Amiga, but it's still fantastic here...too bad the Sega CD's chipset was not better utilized though, for it was probably one of the most capable 16 bit systems ever released.
0:44 the flat earth, or floating island
Yes the graphics are nice, and the animation, at least on the main character, but golly beets it seems dull. I didn't get far when I played this in 2005 and am glad to see I didn't miss a whole lot. Maybe the player is just too good but this doesn't look difficult at any point except during those sky levels where all the heads attack at once. I actually feel bad for some of the hopeless critters that get bopped by Flink. He doesn't even NEED magic lightning bolts. The casual early game music used in the very last level also speaks to the lack of danger.
@@Bloodyshinta1I have definitely observed as much since leaving that comment! Too many of the videos on this channel seem to save state around even the appearance of challenge, which is frustrating. Especially preventing bosses from using interesting attacks in turn-based role playing games. It is more satisfying to see a game that LOOKS hard to beat.
Dang, in this iteration it just just startts to sound like some nintendo stuff rather than the grody and hard sega music
Mario mixed with rayman
1:10:00... lol at the poor lemmings
besides languages, music, intro and extro is there any diferent between cd and cartrigde?
More locations to explore.
The music has such weird and distracting progressions... What awesome graphics though.
At least it's a LOT better than SEGA Genesis/Megadrive.
I always thougt SNES port would make it better sound but now we got something better, a SEGA CD Port with all the highest Quality for music sound.
@@baulretromx4375 I highly prefer the Megadrive sountrack, it's more melodic and consistent
@@keyspirits95Megadrive version has the same soundtrack, it's only downgraded to console capabilities trying to emulate music.
Some themes sound broken, the real thing is listening their CD counterparts.
@@baulretromx4375 Yep, true. I composed the CD-Version first and the developers used it to make the megadrive version out of it.
Eu tenho um SEGACD, eu gostaria muito de ter esse jogo.
Was Psygnosis involved in producing Mickey Mouse: Magical Quest? Because this game is obviously heavily influenced by it in terms of game mechanics and graphics.
I think the most likely theory would be Flink is influenced by Mickey Mouse: Magical Quest. The influences doesn't imply that they are the same developers in my opinion
Capcom did the MQ series, not Psygnosis.
Mickey Mania was the only Mickey Mouse game in which Psygnosis was ever involved. It was thanks to this why Traveller's Tales developed it, as they started working under Psygnosis, and also why Sony got ahold of the game, as it was released after the Sony Psygnosis buyout.
Looks a bit like "Adventure of Lomax" which is okay because the developer is the same!
Psygnosis masterpiece.
It looks like adventures of lomax
same creators
cannot locate this game on Gamespot or IGN
Holy shit! The sound track was absolutely fucking butchered and gutted on the Megadrive version, the Sega CD version sounds amazing.
I played this yesterday, well... I just recently found out the videogame "Lomax" is a fucking good rip off of this one (probably same creators?). Very similar game mechanics, levels, colors, enemies and protagonist. Anyway Flink is fucking impressive to be a Mega Drive/Genesis game, but this version for Mega-CD look a bit better
Of course it's from the same creators!
It’s the same company, though this game seems like it took some ideas from Capcom’s Mickey Mouse for the SNES but I could be wrong.
Looks like a Lomax clone
cool game - but why does the main character look like a disgruntled teenager who works at McDonalds?
