I'm so amazed by their teamwork and how humble they are... like Pablo didn't have a solo part in Golden Hour and Stell didn't have a part in this one, and yet, it's totally okay for them! When they are together they always think about what's best for the group as a whole... Ngayon lang ako nakakita ng group na indovidually, maangas at may ibubuga lahat, pero walang ego. I love them!

Maruya being a sweet snack is made by mashing bananas. So all that they’ve been through (symbolized by the mashing) can be turned into something sweet. They will not stop doing this (the sweetness) until their names (ngalay= shortened version of pangalan ay) are written on stone (lapida= headstones that hold dead people’s names).

They say that victory is sweeter after overcoming adversity and defeat. They'll try to remain successful until their identities are known and their achievements are etched on their tombstones.
You're familiar with Pablo and Josue's lyricism, notably Pablo's use of metaphors and his desire for listeners to apply logical thinking to understand his messages. I also loved how he uses maruya; many Filipinos, particularly Filipino Americans, don't know what maruya means, so they will strive to learn and figure it out. It's another way to share a little bit of our culture.

Hi, Camille!! My guess about the 'maruya' line is that they have turned their bitter experiences from the past into something sweet in the present. "Lahat ng sinapit, gagawin kong maruya." I don't know but in Filipino we usually say "mapait na sinapit" for miserable life experiences. So it's like transforming the mapait (bitter) into matamis (sweet), hence the next line that goes "hindi ko hahayaang ang TAMIS ay mawala." 😊 Lastly, "hanggang ngala'y masulat sa lapida" means until my dying day (until my name is written on a gravestone, to be specific) Loved your reaction btw!!!
