    I don't do holidays/vacations. So when it's time for my annual vacation from work, I usually spend a couple of hundred or so on a RC car, have some fun with it for a couple of weeks in the countryside. Then I clean it up, put it back in its box and give it to some kid who can't afford such things. I know it sounds wasteful but I have a couple of relaxing weeks doing my hobby. Anyway, you would pay a grand plus for a holiday, then it's gone. This way, I make someone else happy and get them into this crazy hobby as well.

    As an engineer for RC petrol & nitro engines. Rub-in is not encouraged because most people who do run in their engines do so too rich and too cold. If the engine is not at optimal operating temperature the piston sleeve will not expand which all you will be doing is prematurely wearing down the piston rings and sleeve. Idling a brand new engine without warming it u with a heat gun first to operate temperature will prematurely wear it out. You want to heat up a new engine with a heat gun to operating temperature. Then sit it and run it by not staying in the same throttle position for more than a few seconds. Rev it u and down for one tank while driving it around. Second tank you are good to go full throttle. IMO for those who are not professional tuners and know exactly how to turn an engine.
    your better off just starting it up after heating it up with a heat gun and driving it gently not going to full throttle for the first half a tank and then start bliping to full throttle every once in a while for a second or so. Engine break-in is all about temperature management during its first heat cycle rather than how much throttle you use during the first run. If it's the same engine as the Losi 5B 220 to 240 degrees is the optimal operating temperature for run-in. Anything cooler you are prematurely shaving down the piston rings and sleeve. After breaking in, you can run cooler or hotter. It's the first startup Temperature that will make or break YOUR ENGINE'S LONGEVITY AND PERFORMANCE.

      fully appreciate your take on it and of course people have their own methods of break in and some even skip it entirely. I am by no means an expert in this field. I'm sure people will appreciate your advice on this :)

    Really good list Ricky, Well done ! I love that new Maverick MT, and the new Omni Terminator a lot. As far as really good budget cars that you have reviewed that I think should be on the list are those little LDRc 1/18 Drift cars, And the little 1/18 Austar Hobby AX-8560 1/18 trail truck/crawler. I would of put one of these before the haiboxing drift car , but just my opinion! No matter it’s still a great list!

    A great way to end the year. I have never been a fan of nitro, but I really enjoyed your first car - that soundtrack was fantastic. Really love the Hyper Truggy, too. I will show my age now, but if this was "Desert Island Discs", I would have to have those two. You have a Great Channel. Here's to 2024. World Peace.

    Great vid! Love hearing the nitro run.. got a hsp 1/8 nitro truck and a 1/10 hpi bullet mt 3.0 that I haven't run in maybe 10yrs now so I'm thinking on firing them up this spring for sure. (Electric just became so much better over the yrs) thx for keeping me entertained and informed! look forward to 2024!

    Great video man, your channel is coming along. Im a nitro guy, and I could see you are too watching you fire up that Hobao - great car. I'm wrestling with mine at the moment, she won't tune nicely on the fuel I have. But the sweet taste of victory when a nitro runs well is unbeatable. I loved all the featured vids in this clip - thanks for sharing. Happy RCing my man.

    where did you get the lancia body? I can't find it under delta plastiks? I need a 270mm WB body and that might work as its for a maverick RX which is between 1/10 and 1/8 wheelbases.

    It's loud as crap but you only went like 5 10 mph. Lol That's why I like my electric. That's another reason why petrol RC cars are dying off. They're so damn noisy and it takes forever to get any speed going. Unless you got a really built top quality high horsepower engine I can't see you having any kind of fun with it. Electric pop a battery and you're doing wheelies all day long. That's why it's dying off electrics just so much better cleaner faster quieter and way more reliable. That's just my thoughts.😮😮😮

    • @enricomiceli5517
      @enricomiceli5517 7 місяців тому +2

      Electric has up and downs, i sincerely prefer nitro because: it is nowdays cheaper than electric, FAR cheaper, and u can find good option at low prices too; the sound and feeling is far more realistic than electric, limiting your aggressiveness in favour of control and realistc acceleration curve; it is also far more safe to play with, outsode the smoke and spund, motor explosion and burns are far less probable even with cheap stuff cpared to electro. Yes, the instant torque and speed u can reach on electro is mad but some people do not want that

    • @Lander76
      @Lander76 7 місяців тому +2

      Regardless how fast electric rc cars are they lack the soul and character of nitro and petrol. Driving an rc car with an internal combustion engine is more exciting.

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC 7 місяців тому +2

      As @Lander76 said electric lacks soul and character. I do more electric videos on my channel than petrol/nitro anyway as that's what people want to see these days but as a petrol head myself and loving real life cars that have combustion engines i have to say if it wasn't for the channel and making videos which will be more popular i would be running petrol and nitro all day long. I never owned electric even when i first got into the hobby (about 20 years ago) i had about 5 nitro cars. Electric just lacked the character that i was looking for. There is something so awesome about an RC car with a miniature engine. Nitro/Petrol will always be my fav both in the RC world and the real world. I wouldn't drive a Tesla if it was given to me for free haha!! Just not my thing regardless of insane mode or whatever they call it haha!!
