My dad has a feral cat like this, Phoenix, he’s had him for over three years now, he prances around. He’s claimed me and if the other two cats come near me he’ll either interject or won’t let me stroke him if I give them attention. I always say Phoenix is like a Emperor. His eyes and everything just say that.
I learned, years ago, how to give a cat a bath with as little stress as possible. You need a big 64 oz plastic tumbler type cup. Run the water about 8 inches deep in the tub and then shut it off. THEN bring the cat into the bathroom and shut the door. Put the cat in the tub and use the tumbler to pour the water over it. Then pull it out onto the bath mat and soap it up. Back into the tub, use the tumbler to rinse the soap away. They're a lot more calm about it without the spout thundering water into the tub, or getting sprayed with a shower head.

We adopted a stray cat that showed up at my parents’ house and never left. My now husband and I were a month out from getting married and moving into our own house. my hubby said he wasn’t a cat person, but that changed in seconds. He picked up this skinny, malnourished 8-month old kitten with bald patches, fleas, a parasite, infections in his eyes, and glaucoma in one and he immediately started purring and hubby fell in love. We took him to the vet and the pet store for supplies that day. We gave him all his treatments and a good bath that he was not a fan off and named him Lucky. 11 years later and Lucky is the joy of our lives. I had a ferret already when Lucky came into our lives. I looked into the humane society because I didn’t think my dad would let him stay and I didn’t know if Lucky and Sarabeth (ferret) would get along but they weren’t taking any cats, thank goodness. As it turned out Lucky and Sara adored each other. They played chase, slept next to each other, and Lucky would even patiently wait for her to get a drink out of his water dish when they were playing. When Sara died of cancer, I was terribly upset and Lucky somehow knew exactly what to do. He came to my recliner and hopped onto my lap (which he never does, he usually lays beside us or on our abdomen in bed). Then he never left me that night. It made dealing with Sara’s death so much easier. He is an amazing blessing and I am so glad we have him. He is a member of the family and always will be.
I adopted mine after she was so persistent rubbing my leg EVERYDAY whenever I was feeding other strays lol. Nah. Some cats just have different freak out triggers. I put my cat in a fluffy blanket when I trim her nails with a specialized safety clipper and feed her treats and coo to her and she still turns panicked and struggles. I guess you can just write me off as just doing it all wrong, but I think that's kind of a lazy way to just assume that people who don't have an easy time are just bad at it.

That cat was relaxed and cooperative because he's a relaxed and cooperative cat. There are pleeeenty of instances where people try to rescue a stray cat and the cat would rather tear their faces off than let anyone get near it. Some cats are affectionate and love the attention. Others are more in touch with their inner predator and stay in hunter-survival mode 24/7. Just depends on the personality of the cat. This cat just happens to be really sweet and chill.
He's so calm and affectionate, I bet he was someone's house cat :( it's too bad that he ended up on the street (I don't want to assume they dumped him, it could be an older owner that passed or something..)

@@joanfordham1305 Yes, you cannot just drop off a pet a few blocks away. They know Home and will not stop trying to go back there. This baby was definitely someone's little guy and just fell on hard times. Not a feral bone in her body.
@@ItsJustTeddington even so, if the original caretaker didn't want to get rid of them, then they should've taken them to an animal shelter (especially if there's a no-kill one) or tried to find a new home for them. It was still an irresponsible and abusive thing to do, to just dump them in the outdoors and leave them to fend for themselves, especially since they're obviously too domesticated and not feral or even a farm cat (too calm, well-behaved, and was too well-fed for a farm cat) :/

Could be also a cat that just likes it. I know a friend had a cat who would love to join her in the bath tub and get soaking wet. We also had a few rabbits that adored sitting in the rain and would go out of their way to do so despite being another animal known to hate getting wet.
I have one and she's the sweetest. She's white with splotches of orange on her head and her tail's full orange and white stripes. She would sleep on my chest or armpits. One of the clumsiest cat I've had. 😂 When I first got her there wasn't that much of a fuss when I gave her a bath. She ran away from her house when she was a few months old, the owner let me have her because they have too many cats and yeah, they seemed to be neglected because a few months later twin orange cats would stay at our home and won't go back but yeah, the owner had to go pick them up everytime.

Rusty my ex step mother had an obese cat that couldnt clean himself properly, so it was up to me to bathe him. He was very nervous with the water and tried to escape a few times, but he was still very tolerant and polite. Just gentle and good natured all around. I would have taken him if i could habe pets where i lived, but he did go on to a better home where they got his weight under control.
He only meowed while she was seeing what that black spot was on his tail and it was probably uncomfortable for him. But even so he just meowed and didn´t turned his head to try to make her stop, hiss or even lift a paw, like other cats tend to do. He´s one calm and nice cat.
my house cat absolutely hates when we clean him up he always makes a mess and we end up with scratches yet our other cat that was a stray and we rescued not long ago doesn’t mind the water at all, he’s the tamest of the two lol

Well, u rarely see cats drenched in rain. Most just find shelter to wait it out. My best bet is the cat used to be house cat thats why its calm when being bathed.

If you have no other choice but to let go of your pet you still DO have the choice to use a phone, your mouth or the internet in a million ways to find a new owner or a shelter or a rescue for a pet, even for a pet on the streets or for your own one. So I really don't think it's right to say that someone had no other options, even if they are poor or a kid or whatever. People can always ask for help from people who are willing to help, and yes, there are people like that who jump right away when there is an animal in need, but if the owners don't act for it, they can't do anything until - well just how we see here - until when it's already in this state... I don't want to curse these people because they can be irresponsible because of all kind of reasons, but I definitely don't find throwing out a pet an excusable act because they DO have options. I hope you'll also understand that. But I don't know anything about this kitty, I don't know if there were signs of abandoning, it's also a possibility that the kitty ran away and got lost, because sadly that can happen. Sometimes cats get out of a house and not get found even if their owners loved them to death.

Seen a lot of cute cat videos over the years. I mean that was what the internet was invented for right? But this might be the first heartwarming Cat video I've seen. And I'm not strictly a cat person myself. This though made me smile. You did a wonderful thing for another fellow mammal without expecting anything in return. You are literally that cats hero. I used to bathe my Thomas cat like this. He was HUGE(muscular) and could have shredded me to ribbons, but he patiently let me wash him. My brother couldn't believe I was able to do it all by myself. Some cats are just really good like that. I'd pat him almost dry, then put him on a pillow inside a tent I made from a clear plastic dry cleaner's bag. The open end of the bag was securely tied to the hose of my mom's old 1950's compact hairdryer. The warm air puffed the tent and dried my cat to fluffy perfection while he snoozed. He was a pure creamy white shorthair with green eyes. Had such a thick, luxurious coat. A real gentleman, so handsome and a totally spoiled, sometimes conceited, ham! For years, after he died of feline leukemia, we were devastated. We would see his little white hairs on our clothes, or randomly floating on the breeze from an open window where he loved to sunbathe, and we would say to each other, " It's Thomas.... saying he loves us!"
I have never seen a street cat so calm and sweet especially while receiving a bath. I wish I had the ability to live in your country and close I would have adopted her in a heartbeat along with a few more no doubt. Thank you for making sure Nabi found a loving and safe home and thank you for loving and taking care of all these sweet kitties.
@@ayanp353 Yes and I take care of them every day. For 9 years now I have fed the feral kitties and built shelters for them so they have a warm home in the winter time. I give up a lot of my personal items to make sure they have the things they need. I would rather feed and shelter them then have or buy items in my life that I really do not need.

Our cat never resisted baths. When he was a kitten he liked chasing water rays from my brother's water gun. Inevitably he'd get wet, which might have conditioned him to being so calm when he'd get bathed as an adult. Maybe this cat had a similar experience.
My cat acts like he’s literally dying. Meows so deep and long it surprises me each time. I warn my neighbors I’m giving my cat a bath so they don’t think animal abuse is going on 💀 I’m trying to find another way to bathe my cat though because he does pee himself each time and it breaks my heart 😔 Edit: some of you really don’t read comments lmao I only wash my cat now because he ended up getting fleas from escaping outside. I’m taking him to the vet now to get checked and find a better way to get rid of them.
Unless you’re cat is hairless or sick and can’t clean himself properly then he never needs a bath, it can actually be bad to give them baths because it’s messes with the oils in their fur and skin. Mine only get baths after going to the vet because they always poop or pee on themselves bc they’re scared

It was still an irresponsible and abusive thing to do, to just dump them in the outdoors and leave them to fend for themselves, especially since they're obviously too domesticated and not feral or even a farm cat (too calm, well-behaved, and was too well-fed for a farm cat) :/

Could be also a cat that just likes it. I know a friend had a cat who would love to join her in the bath tub and get soaking wet. We also had a few rabbits that adored sitting in the rain and would go out of their way to do so despite being another animal known to hate getting wet.
Mind you the rain was cold and this water is warm

I swear, short haired ginger/white cats are the most chill individuals. They're like the capybaras of the cat family.
I have one and she's the sweetest. She's white with splotches of orange on her head and her tail's full orange and white stripes. She would sleep on my chest or armpits. One of the clumsiest cat I've had. 😂
When I first got her there wasn't that much of a fuss when I gave her a bath. She ran away from her house when she was a few months old, the owner let me have her because they have too many cats and yeah, they seemed to be neglected because a few months later twin orange cats would stay at our home and won't go back but yeah, the owner had to go pick them up everytime.

Rusty my ex step mother had an obese cat that couldnt clean himself properly, so it was up to me to bathe him. He was very nervous with the water and tried to escape a few times, but he was still very tolerant and polite. Just gentle and good natured all around. I would have taken him if i could habe pets where i lived, but he did go on to a better home where they got his weight under control.

He only meowed while she was seeing what that black spot was on his tail and it was probably uncomfortable for him. But even so he just meowed and didn´t turned his head to try to make her stop, hiss or even lift a paw, like other cats tend to do. He´s one calm and nice cat.

Será el único gato que se deja bañar así de tranquilo. Aunque los veterinarios dicen que ellos mismos se bañan a peso de lengua. Solo se deben bañar en casos de que se ensucien con barro o algo que le sea dificil limpiarse. Pero si de vez en cuando bañarlos.😄

I think people often forget that some people don’t wish to throw out their pet, but some issue came up and they are forced to? Of course they had other options instead throwing it in the streets, but just if they had no other options left?

If you have no other choice but to let go of your pet you still DO have the choice to use a phone, your mouth or the internet in a million ways to find a new owner or a shelter or a rescue for a pet, even for a pet on the streets or for your own one. So I really don't think it's right to say that someone had no other options, even if they are poor or a kid or whatever. People can always ask for help from people who are willing to help, and yes, there are people like that who jump right away when there is an animal in need, but if the owners don't act for it, they can't do anything until - well just how we see here - until when it's already in this state... I don't want to curse these people because they can be irresponsible because of all kind of reasons, but I definitely don't find throwing out a pet an excusable act because they DO have options. I hope you'll also understand that.
But I don't know anything about this kitty, I don't know if there were signs of abandoning, it's also a possibility that the kitty ran away and got lost, because sadly that can happen. Sometimes cats get out of a house and not get found even if their owners loved them to death.

I used to bathe my Thomas cat like this. He was HUGE(muscular) and could have shredded me to ribbons, but he patiently let me wash him. My brother couldn't believe I was able to do it all by myself. Some cats are just really good like that. I'd pat him almost dry, then put him on a pillow inside a tent I made from a clear plastic dry cleaner's bag. The open end of the bag was securely tied to the hose of my mom's old 1950's compact hairdryer. The warm air puffed the tent and
dried my cat to fluffy perfection while he snoozed. He was a pure creamy white shorthair with green eyes. Had such a thick, luxurious coat.
A real gentleman, so handsome and a totally spoiled, sometimes conceited, ham! For years, after he died of feline leukemia, we were devastated. We would see his little white hairs on our clothes, or randomly floating on the breeze from an open window where he loved to sunbathe, and we would say to each other, " It's Thomas.... saying he loves us!"

I wish I had the ability to live in your country and close I would have adopted her in a heartbeat along with a few more no doubt. @@ayanp353 Yes and I take care of them every day. For 9 years now I have fed the feral kitties and built shelters for them so they have a warm home in the winter time. I give up a lot of my personal items to make sure they have the things they need. I would rather feed and shelter them then have or buy items in my life that I really do not need.

No this cat is just extra special 😂 my cats always pee and poop on themselves when they have to go in the kennel on the way to the vet, and they still act like demons when I have to wash them after we get home
Our cat never resisted baths. When he was a kitten he liked chasing water rays from my brother's water gun. Inevitably he'd get wet, which might have conditioned him to being so calm when he'd get bathed as an adult. Maybe this cat had a similar experience.
My females cat grew up partially outdoors. She runs inside every time it rains.

This video has literally warmed my heart!! I'm so happy Nabi finally found someone to take care of him and love him.
My cat acts like he’s literally dying. Meows so deep and long it surprises me each time. I warn my neighbors I’m giving my cat a bath so they don’t think animal abuse is going on 💀 I’m trying to find another way to bathe my cat though because he does pee himself each time and it breaks my heart 😔
Edit: some of you really don’t read comments lmao I only wash my cat now because he ended up getting fleas from escaping outside. I’m taking him to the vet now to get checked and find a better way to get rid of them.
Unless you’re cat is hairless or sick and can’t clean himself properly then he never needs a bath, it can actually be bad to give them baths because it’s messes with the oils in their fur and skin. Mine only get baths after going to the vet because they always poop or pee on themselves bc they’re scared
@@loganlovesrainbows we got give my cat a bath around 2 or 3 times a year, and that's because after a while she starts to smell like spit (from licking herself 24/7) or shit (bc she cant clean her butt super well) but other than those occasions, we let her lick herself to get clean
Yes!! My cat is the same way but he attacks me too! It’s been 5 years since I took him a bath. He’s like an dingy orange fur color and nobody wants to take him a bath 💀
