    Girl, you are the Queen of Corrosion (and that is totally a term of endearment!) 😍
    Beautiful work. I love the intensity of the aging for this build. Brilliant!

    Things without resin: ie, your coffee pot or glasses. shrink plastic over 1/2 form and mirror image (best to make your whole form then cut in 1/2) place plastic over form, heat over a vac box, then superglue made parts together. I do a lot with pop bottle plastic and water bottle plastic the thin walmart one's form easiest for tiny parts. You can do clear or the tinted ones, watch your heat! I used medium heat and keep it moving. I learned it from my dad who does RC model planes.

      mini laithe:...Dremel on it's side in a crib holder. I used shelving scraps and the end can be supported by a pin socket...there's a really good example on youtube paoson? i think is his name.. my dad built mine when I was a kid, i still use it, nearly 40 years later. I use tile stamp carving/making tools on it and set of micro files from harbor freight (like 2.99)

    Gas burners are accurate looking when made from “lock washers”. (Have nothing to do with locks with keys) Lock washers are metal washers with tiny teeth in the center instead of round holes.

    Coffee maker 2.0! Amazing upgrade! ❤ I really like the first piece on it's own. It just wasn't the right appliance for the setting. (But thanks for letting me know about its existence. I've got a kiddo about to head to college! Perfect dorm room gift! Ha!!) ❤❤❤

    Another great miniature Ara. Regarding the metric / imperial measurements- we do both in the UK as well. Height is normally Imperial (Foot / Inches), whereas smaller items are Metric (Metres / Centimetres / Millimetres). Distance is mainly in miles as well. Can be confusing for some (especially ‘millennials’ ha ha). 💜🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿💜

      Wow that can be confusing! Thank you for adding a little more info to the discussion. Having been trained and worked in the architecture field here in the US... my brain is fully trained in feet and inches ;)

    To Bentley house minis happy Halloween to you and your family I don’t drink coffee I drink soda juice tea water and hot chocolate. There is a coffee substitute that I like it’s not caffeinated it has barely it’s called pero i think you’d like it it’s like instant coffee you just put it in hot water and add your coffee fixings then drink.

    What type of nib (for the precision glue container) clogs up? I have those precision glue containers that have metal nibs and have a cover that goes with it to help prevent it from clogging. If it ever does clog, I just unscrew it and poke a sewing pin through to push the dried up glue out. I've never experienced having it rust. I use elmer's wood glue in it.

    The silhouett studio program saves in .studio files, that only the silhouett maschine can open, but if you upgrade your studio program to: designer edition, then you will be able to save it to be used on other maschines 👍🏻

    have you considered doing an edited version of your live stream videos that focus on one project like this and condensing it down to a regular video as well? then you can link back to this one for anyone wanting to watch in real time but it will allow those that don't want to or can't sit for 2 hours to still get to see your work from the live streams.

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  6 років тому +1

      That's a really great idea! I initially saw it as an opportunity to skip editing altogether because it is a lot of work BUT I do notice that those streams don't get as many views because of their length. And some of them I think came out really well. It may be something for me to think of in the future if I have a bit of time I can re-upload shorter versions and maybe some subscribers who prefer shorter videos could also enjoy them. Thanks!

    Hello! I'm a new subscriber and I love your work. I am curious why you coat the entire thing in wood glue? Thank you for sharing your work.

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  5 років тому +2

      Welcome to the channel Kim and thank you ;) I coat it in glue because it provides a very smooth texture that makes it more convincing as metal once I paint it. I hope that helps!

    I work in commercial airfreight - specifically air exports from the USA to other countries - and every other country in the world does airfreight in centimeters and kilograms. Except us crazy Americans, who use kilos and inches. And then our truckers and most American crating companies use inches and pounds.
    So me, who is terrible at math, knows the cm -> inches, kgs -> lbs, and m3 -> cft conversion formulas by heart.
    The only time I've ever really needed to use centimeters is when the cargo is pushing the maximum dimensions of the plane's cargo hold. Cue me dragging a Teamster across the warehouse by the belt loop because I need to know PRECISELY how tall the stupid crate going to India is. If it's 94.5", it no fit, but if it is 94.3", then it can go. (It was 94.26" and could fly to India 🎉)

    I'm an American old and they tried to teach us metric when I was in jr. high. Then the adults started losing their minds for some reason and by 9th grade it was all over. *wah wah* But then, I spent two years in Italy and one in Turkey in the USAF and living in an all-metric country is probably the best way to learn it because you just have to absorb how much a kilo is, how far a km is, how big a 4.5 cm bottle is, how fast 80 km/hr is, etc. It really doesn't take very long; a few weeks at most.

    From what did you built this ? (The base)

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  6 років тому +1

      It is made from mat board which is what is used to make a nice border around framed art. It can be found in most stores that frame photos and art and in some craft stores. I hope that helps!

      Bentley House Minis thank you so much ! ❤️❤️ I think this is great alternative for wood ( what i usually use )

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  6 років тому +1

      I switched to this a while ago. I found it to be cheaper and stronger than bass wood. I can still get similar effects with this like I can with wood. Plus it can be sanded and carved to an extent. It's my go-to material ;)

    Is there are reason you use matte board rather than hobby wood?

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  6 років тому

      The mat board is smoother to start out with than hobby wood. To get a smooth metallic finish out of wood I would have to sand and paint several times. And I have found mat board to be as easy to sand and as strong (in most cases) as wood. And no splinters!

    • @marykayryan7891
      @marykayryan7891 6 років тому

      Thanks for such a prompt reply. I have been using matte board for somethings also, largely in the dollhouse it avoids adding so much weight.
