I'd tried this Jennifer Mcguire technique, I tried every sandwich I saw, no help. I had my gemini for about 6mo and was about to give up, until I found a video on UA-cam one night about 2am. My sandwich is bottom Gemini plate+ magic mat + paper/die + top magic mat, and BINGO cuts like butter and prevents warping.
I have a Gemini too, and feel that the makers of the Geminis really ought to provide much better quality cutting plates. Mine were warped after a few uses. And the cost to replace them is horrendous. I’m interested to see if your/Jennifer McGuire option works long term.
Sadly, the magnetic sheet doesn't hold the dies. I just use a bit of washi tape if needed. I had to fiddle with a sandwich for embossing folders, and I get good results with them.
I loved my Big Shot and used to it for many, many years, but when it quit working, I had to buy a new machine. I knew I wanted an electric version, and I found this new for half price, so that made my decision. I rarely need the magnetic aspect, so this is working well for me. Happy Crafting!
Wow, that’s a beautiful machine! Congratulations
We'll have to play with it when you're here next month!

Glad you found something that works for you. I'm still using this sandwich, and I haven't had any problems.
Thanks! Ill try it tonight!
I had an old fiskars self healing mat that I cut to size to use in my Gemini, similar to the magic mat.

I've heard that using a Magic Mat to replace one of the outer plates, to cut into, helps to reduce warping.
Does the magnet sheet still hold the die in place? Have you had any trouble with embossing as I’ve seen varied results with that?

"Promo sm" 😕
What is the point if your not using the magnetic side. It won't work when you need to cut a stamped die. Sizzix big shot is so much better.
