There was another youtuber, Mike Oydessy (sorry for spelling if off), that reported there are issues with Amazon and Nintendo, but he said his source stated that Nintendo is battling Walmart because their site isn't up to demands Nintendo is making to help preventing scalping. Can't say Nintendo hates America when it is just those to places, when stores like Bestbuy, gamestop, target is having no issues with online preorders.
So other than the pre-orders Walmart and Amazon will have the game when everyone else gets the game?

@kirikun5636 Yes, that is what is happening as far as walmart goes. They have stated they will have them in their stores. I'm not sure, or have I heard anything about what Amazon is doing, so I can't speak for that.

Also Scalpers are a real issue with online shopping. There are some assholes who feel entitled to buy an entire stock of a much anticipated game, then resell it a few days later at an inflated rate. They did that ALL the time with Amiibo. I imagine Nintendo very much cares about their fans, so much so this move was intentionally for those asshole scalpers.
I blame scalpers and leakers.

I don’t really think it’s because they hate Americans, because that’s ridiculous. If they were going to do it like that, they would just sell their merch to anywhere other than North America. And it would be a big shot in the foot being their headquarters is located in Redmond, Washington-which is IN America, btw. 😂 But there’s probably a demand order at work when it comes to Amazon and Walmart. And I pray it doesn’t spread to other places because you shouldn’t make a promise to your consumers that they can get what they’re releasing, and then something happens which makes you lose out on it. Not a very efficient business practice.

Nintendo's headquarters are in Kyoto, Japan. Redmond is the location of their American branch, Nintendo of America.
@@ericriley1985 The point is that they still have an American base of operation, regardless. So it doesn’t make any sense to say that they don’t care about Americans when:
1. They have a headquarters stationed in North American soil, regardless of it being major or minor.
2. Most of the retail sales include those from America.
3. While I know that there are some games that weren’t brought to the west, their remaster of Paper Mario IS going to be sold to the west. And a release date , as well as giving that customer the right to pre-order it, is the same thing as promising those who are interested in purchasing it. And when you roll back a promise that people trust, that’s a good way to lose your customers because that will give them doubt for wanting to get anything without going through a hassle.
I mean they used to ignore europe(Super Mario RPG original,Kirby’s Dream Collection,Xenogears,Chrono Trigger)sooooo….
Yeah but that's the thing, they stopped caring about America. They never cared about Europe to begin with.
Xenogears is a Ps1 game and it along with Chrono Trigger are Square Enix games so that's on Square Enix not Nintendo

Personally, pre-ordering a digital copy never made any sense to me, and I hope someone in the thread can explain it to me. You can't run out of the digital version of the game, right?
I think Nintendo is (understandably) trying to prevent the game from being dumped & leaked online before its street date. Considering this has often happened with their major releases, I can understand why they may be reticent to allow the game to be sold at retailers that may, intentionally or accidentally, ship the game to consumers before May 23rd.
Nintendo does (kinda) still care about their American fans. They may have done stupid things, like the pre-order cancellations for TTYD, but I would not say they do not care about their American fans anymore.

I definitely agree that Nintendo seems to hate the US. I mean, why doesn’t the US have ANY preorder bonuses for TTYD, while other countries get cool stuff like a diorama or keychains???
I mean they probably didn't give Amazon that many copies because it's a small release, Like despite the fact that what fans of this remake will say the older paper Mario games are not the biggest sellers compared to the new ones

They were shipping copies too early. I know in the past I got games a day or two early before. They probably violated policies several times and Nintendo was sick of it.
Small release?????? TTYD is a game that literally everyone has wanted since the original costs upwards of $150+ on the retro market. And Mario in general sells well. Haven't touched my Switch in months but busting it out for this one.
Last time they did this they raised a game from $60 to $70
I'm gonna have to take that info with a massive grain of salt, but I hope they got good reasons for doing so

Well maybe if the fans stopped harassing and insulting people for enjoying games on switch hardware, supporting the Super Smash Bros Community filled with terrible people, Defending a criminal for doing something he shouldn't have done, wanting Shigeru Miyamoto gone or dead Considering the fact he has nothing to do with the DMCA legal team in Japan that makes those decisions, wanting to gun down any employees or developers thinking they were the ones that were making the DMCA legal team decisions and So much more....

File complaints on the Mitsubishi-Nissian-Renault alliance (which owns Nintendo and other companies through the MasterTrustBank of Japan and The Nomura Trust and Banking Co., Ltd.) on making them do decisions like this, spread it out through the entire web, encourage everyone to boycott that scummy alliances products to make them give back a percentage of the companies back to their original families, contact the Yamauchi family's office about this, let them know what the company has been doing all along, and let them undo all the damage that's been done to the company.

They may also be cutting ties with Wal-Mart and Amazon due to their poor quality of shipping products. I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve had to return or exchange an item from them due to the item being damaged.

Nintendo as a whole doesn’t hate them it’s the dmca legal team in Japan and Nintendo of Japan. In Japan the laws are very strict and the shutdowns are manly made by them.
I know that’s not on this topic but I’m sure this is to stop leakers from spoiling their properties. I don’t own a switch so hearing this announcement doesn’t bother me to much. They’ll probably think of something to get this situation under control.

Fun personal story about paper mario ttyd.. this is the game that got me in to zelda! A friend of mine back in 2004 or maybe 05 was going to let me borrow ttyd and I got my hopes up to play it. Well it turned out he didn't have it anymore because of his brother so I was bummed out and went to Walmart to get a budget game to play. I didn't have much cash so i bought the wind waker since it was a 20$ greatest hits game. This ended up being the best thing to ever happen to me in gaming because I fell deep in love with the zelda franchise and found a way to play almost every zelda game in the coming years. Zelda means so much to me now and I owe it all to ttyd lol. Years and years later I finally obtained ttyd and it itself is amazing too!
Here's my only thing regarding the supply and demand issues with this game, especially knowing the history of how recent paper mario games have not been up to scratch when compared to the first two games. THEY SHOULD HAVE EXPECTED THIS, KNOWING THIS GAME'S HISTORY, AND SHOULD HAVE PRINTED ENOUGH PHYSICAL COPIES AT THESE STORES! Nintendo is known for doing this with their products. Anybody else remember the whole amiibo fiasco back during Easter when the Ness amiibo and other popular characters were in high demand and sold out instantly? There is absolutely no excuse for this type of behavior from Nintendo, and it is effing BS that they are doing this! The whole point of pre-ordering online is so that you have the convenience of buying the game from the comfort of your own home without having to drive over to a local Walmart and pick it up. Let alone, the fact that amazon isn't gonna deliver it now due to what Nintendo is doing. This is exactly why I always buy my games digitally. Because I'm tired of the bs anticonsumer practices with physical copies. I'm done. That's it. That's the rant. Thank you all for taking the time to read this.

I'm honestly not that upset, because I rarely preorder games, (and I've still gotten some games like Super Mario RPG on day 1) and I don't begrudge Nintendo for this, because they've had supply issues before, scalper issues, and such.
Hopefully, they can supply more physical copies of the "World Championship." They did reissue the NES Classic when demand became high for it, and they recently reissued many old Amiibos. So it shows they care about fans somewhat to reissue these things.
