Is there a Utube conspiracy to highlight hunting Blue Grouse this year? So many good videos that I’m thinking Chukar and Huns are behind the push to reduce their hunting pressure.
Love this video. I’m brand new to hunting but feel like I have a better understanding of some good approaches and tactics I can take into the mountains after watching this. Thanks!
@@joshuabillings2733 you’re welcome and thanks for watching! Hope we can be a source of information and help as you get your feet wet. Enjoy the ride and process 🤝🏼
I popped an honest 15 birds out of cover during archery elk in one day. Maybe 3 days before the season opened, lol. I was going to go out this weekend but I realized it's deer opener here in the ol UT, don't feel like finding my dog with a hole in his orange vest. Looking forward to chukar too. I wound up carrying my dog a lot last year, was the pricker situation worse in the desert than normal or was I just making bad choices? great point about the water, surprising amount if it around the mountains here but you have to plan ahead.
Lol I have "killed" many birds with my good habits unloading my gun to rest or eat or nap or any time we stop for a while. So I'm right there with you buddy! I can't wait to get my final rise pack out bird hunting this fall! Thanks for sharing
We ironically shot a little video after this hunting on that exact topic. I own 2 of them now and share what I like and what I’d do different on my next one. Great product though and can recommend with confidence.
Very cool vid thanks for posting. Ive been thinking about hunting grouse up around the Fish Lake region. Do you know if theres any grouse up there? Thought there might be duskies and ruffies.
@@finalrise Yeah I was honestly wishing I didn't get any october big game tags come August. Still wish, I got hosed with the heat. Batting duskies away, elk are in a different dimension, 5yo brittany at home.
@@Jciatt1997 narrow is the choice you’d need. A small forewarning that while our narrow bottles are sized perfectly to accept the Gatorade brand bottles, the grip texturing and grip of their plastic will be a hair sticky at first. I just rubbed a bunch of dirt on mine to slick them up. After a wash or two, and use, they slide right in without fuss.
Copied right out of the UofU grouse study🤌🏻🤓 Often, areas of habitat transition (e.g., aspen to sagebrush), especially areas with berry-producing shrubs like serviceberry, mountain ash, and chokecherry, are attractive to dusky grouse.

Chukar isn’t open here yet but as soon as it is, you’ll see way more of that than anything else 😂
Everyone just knows you like good grouse content Ron!
Beautiful, smart content. Thanks for all the effort that goes into it. Went to the website looking for that hat. Hope y’all make it available.

awesome video! what antennas are you running on your handheld and dog collars?
Click, “Guns unloaded…..I’d a killed that one…” thank you for keeping it real. Awesome video
Nice, must be more birds down in your neck of the woods. Birds in the Uintah's have been few and far between.
@@ribrobrooproop been a very good year our way. Can’t get away from them.. no complaints lol
I think the wasatch had a lot more rain than the uintas this year which is weird. At least the parts of the Uintas I saw.
@@jcarry5214 we had some great moisture. Everywhere I’ve hunted in Utah and Idaho this year are LOADED with grouse.

Cool video man! What gun is that btw?
There are two sounds that couldn’t be more loud. A click when you need a bang and a bang when you expect a click.

@@finalrise definitely. Haha.
Is that up on duchenne ridge above mill hollow reservoir I grew up there
Are you running 30 inches barrels?
Looked like service berry
For the Gatorade squirt bottles to fit, do I need the standard wattle bottle pouches or the narrow ones? I see you have both options on line

What gauge shotgun are you using?
Looking at the frame and barrels, I’m guessing a 28

Looks like snowberry. Do grouse eat that? Not edible for humans.
I believe it’s service berry 👍🏼
