be good,

Not only is it innovative - it's made in the USA! That's impressive.
As a regular user of the typical notched straight edge I can confirm this is a decent upgrade for sure
Things that don’t exist is a great specialty!
Awesome tool. Again Tiim shows how the internet can be used for good. Mahalo for sharing! : )
That tool looks great Tim! Nice work & good luck with sales! Hope that all is well! 👍👍🎸🎸
Another cool tool for the arsenal!
Fucking genius! And so obvious in hindsight. Love my Center Finder and Mini Rulers. This is next on the list.
Love it!!
What would be nice is a reasonably priced jig or template for routing the truss rod cavity. StewMac makes this but it's part of their kit of tools. There's a company in the EU that sells a whole system for gobs of money but nothing for the home hobbyist to use with their regular cheap router. If anyone knows of a reasonably priced jig or template chime in. Thanks. 😊
Hey Tim! I've been missing you! Thanks for the upload and I hope to see something else soon, you're definitely always worth the wait because when you put something out it's always completely engaging to me and I enjoy it, thank you. I hope you and yours are doing well bro much love ❤️👻

Nice job bro. !!!!
Nice addition to your tool offerings Tim! Maybe someday you can offer ones for ukuleles? I'd potentially be interested in those if you ever offer them. Just a thought!
noted! but ukes don't have truss rods usually, so I don't know mow much good it'll do you...
@@timsway You are right that most ukuleles don't use truss rods. I was thinking more along the lines of using it to layout fret boards.
With the slots in the straight edge, assuming all the slots are uniform in size, it might even be able to be repurposed into a template for fret slotting.
A miter box with a locating pin would be needed and it might need to be made out of something more durable than aluminum, but it just might work.
I need one for my PRS SE baritone which I think has a 27.7” scale….
One thing that would be nice would be a fret ruler/straight edge for basses. Seems that people only make them for guitars!
Yea, I plan on doing that. Probably in 34"-35" which seem to be the most popular scales, but I personally make a lot of 32" so I might put that on the other side...l can't decide so I haven't made it yet :-p
Are you going to do packaged sets? Like a beginner set of tools, with expansion packs? Then an intermediate set of tools which has the beginner set plus a few other detailed tools, and an expansion pack, then the full set. That way someone could get the bare minimum set of tools and gauges from you to start but could get further items as their skills increase.
good idea! I don't know if I really offer enough different types of and variety of tools to call it a "set" yet :)
@@timsway That may be something to work up. You may be the next Stew Mac if you keep this up. :)
I was about to comment that the ruler isn't actually on your site. Then I realized the main page is not the full catalog. It's every too *except* this :)
I imagine others may visit your site and think the same. Maybe reduce the number of featured tools to one row or something and have the link to more right under that one row?
good insight. Yea, I can edit the front page to hold it and move something else if I need to. I will!
Isn't it customary to use finger quotes when mentioning "laser"'s?
Great tool BTW.
lol. It took a few years but I think it's ok to not make quotes now (and it's ok to play Stairway to Heaven in guitar stores again. But it will never be ok to yell Free Bird at a concert, unless it is a Skynyrd tribute band :)
I want a digital caliper that also calculates any fret scale and has a jaw wide enough for anything from a uke to a bass. Seriously (because I hate printers).
I hear you!
Is there a way, do you think, to make a miter jig that locks into the holes so you can cut the slots on A table saw?
hmm... let me think on that. I may have an idea...
@@timswayi was thinking a hinged arm or board with a pin, that swings down on top
What was that attachment on the Sqwayre?
That is the SqWAYre Edge, which is available as a free download for 3d printing at SqWAYreTools.com. I am in the process of offering them for sale, too., upgrading my 3d printer. ua-cam.com/video/vdjS-9ErVls/v-deo.htmlsi=L5P21u2nrjFe9WaH
Like deployed 👍
Would you make this tool for basses??
That would be next if I make more.
@@timsway thanks for the answer man!!!!
@@timsway also, would one of the sides be Rickenbacker bass scale??
@@HeadlessTony oh geez, probably not. You can make your own with an aluminum ruler and woodworking tools to cut it.
Could I add one more feature to your fret ruler. A light. I don't care how it's done. The problem: I find it hard to spot the tiny gap between the ruler and the wood. Let's face it. If the gap is so big that you see it easily, then the ruler is not your problem. The same goes for a level when checking to see if your frets are flat. There are a thousand ways to add a light - on or off the level itself. I'm still waiting for someone to invent it.
hmmm... I find just putting a light behind your work usually does it for me. Even the flashlight on my phone. I don't know if the light source could be part of the tool and still help see the gap.. too close? It would have to be an even source along the length of the whole tool, not segmented LEDS because those could cause false shadows and not at a fixed point on either end because the frets would block the beam. I think that's why you're not seeing it built in: In my head the tool is becoming big, unwieldy and expensive. A flashlight is handy to have on the bench anyway...
@@timsway True. All true. It's really just wishful thinking on my part. I'll just keep doing it the way we have for 5000 years - I'll keep a roll of white paper towels on the other side of the level.
