Thank you for showing people how to do this you’ve just saved me an insane amount of money to get started on one of the crafts I’m super interested in jumping into!!!
And I thought I couldn't afford a lathe of any type due to space as well as cost! Super thanks. What a simple idea.
COST !! IS !! SPACE !! YOU STUPID !! GIT !!!
@@davidwillard7334 My what a pleasant person.
@@old-moose LACKING !! BRASS !!??
That is one of the easiest and uncomplicated quick cheap and easy DIY wood lathes I have seen. Thanks so much. This will help me out a lot with doing small builds.
I was thinking how can a 7-year-old video quality be so high but then I realized this video is only from 2016.
Ah, corded tools. I still love them.
I'm still fascinated by the scythe. I want to mow my lawn with one just to scare the neighbors.
@@scottyj6226 What an evilly good idea.
Having cordless tools is really an asset of convenience along side having the corded version. I always go for the cord when I want to get away with something more aggressive or unusual and still have a tool and not a doorstop afterwards.
Corded tools are great. Saves me from having to by the same brand due to batteries being exclusive. If you're a pro though it would suck.
Have you noticed how cordLESS drills are getting higher and higher voltages . To bring them in line with corded drills. Unless you are moving around a lot on a jobsite cordless drills are redundant really.
I definitely don't need a wood lathe. But after watching this video, by god I will build one.
You forget about that?
@@PrimitiveSkater forget about what?
xlxcrossxlx Making one
Don't have to say that
FOR !! WHAT !!??
I also love the Velcro speed control, although a lot of commenters say a drill isn’t fast enough.
I love it. How to make a mini lathe in 10 minutes....In a six minute video! Dude you're my hero!
Super awesome idea, thanks for sharing!
Thank Man gonna build some fun ones with this little set up
A real clean solution with the skateboard bearings. Thanx!
Those mini ratcheting bar clamps work great for holding/adjusting/quick releasing the trigger, too. That's what I use.
This was great, I'm keeping it in mind for me to try out one day!
This is brilliant, from candle holders to small table legs. Thanks!
Fun! 👍
I'm LOVING your Monday and Fridays!!!
I like your "Think" hold-down with the chop saw.
Thank you for posting this and being so clear with instructions! absolutely awesome! will be making one myself no doubt! except I might try out some ceramic bearings cheers again!
Izzy!
You make things easier for novices like me. Love this build
I was going to build Matthias' lathe, but I haven't found a motor. This will do perfectly for small pieces. Thanks Izzy!
I was watching a Rex Krueger that referenced your mini lathe video. Watched your video, I am impressed! And that tee-nut with the tangs turned around for the drive spur - pure genius. Yes, I am going to make one of these - I have a lot of files and rasps with no handles. Thanks for the video.
Brilliant as usual. I love your build videos, which are doable by any DIY with basic skills and tools.
This idea is epic thank you.
I love the fact that he shows what to buy and where to buy the supplies as well as make the lathe.
I've watched too man videos on quick diy wood lathes, this one is by far the best one I've seen, I'm definitely building this one, THANK YOU Izzy
Wow, that's bloody brilliant Izzy!
Excellent, simple and easy to build !!! Thank you !!!
I've thought about doing this for years.
Nice design.
I love the use of Skateboard Bearings.
Much simpler than the other videos I've seen! You even explained that you were putting in skateboard bearings; the others just shoved them in and I was like "what is that?". Great Video!
This is REALLY cool. Thank you.
Oh lovely !!!!!!!!! Greetings from India.
Sweet!! Really going to enjoy this series. Money Saving Mondays!!
Been watching different videos on how to make a mini Lathe, I really like this one. Thanks Izzy.
THE POWER !! DRILL !! DOESNT !! EXCITE !! YOU !! OBVIOUSLY !!!
I wanted to make a lathe for so long, now I can make one. Thanks izzy
A 6 minute video of how to make a mini lathe in 10 minutes, WTF!!! Ingenious, great job!
That's brilliant i'm going to try it... after I try the 10 million other ideas I have up my sleeve - no seriously I will - I love it!
Wow, it's hard to get much more simple than that. Awesome and easy.
what a simple and effective idea! love it!
FANTASTIC VIDEO!
God send! Thank for sharing!! Super! I'm so excited,to make this! Thank U again!
As a former lowrider owner, and a former skateboarder, I can totally appreciate this project! 👍🏼 Now, just put a spark plate on the underside of the tail so when you pop the nose up, you throw sparks from the tail every time it scrapes the pavement 👍🏼
Badass Izzy! Good, simple take on a DIY Lathe.
Nice, simple, and very well demonstrated. Loved it. Making one today.
Izzy, your a mad man. Love the crazy stuff you build!
Extremely simple! And simple is always better.
Awesome build with excellent tips on " How too "
Thanks very much.
This is cool. I've been wondering how I could make my own lathe. Thank you for sharing 🌞🌞🌞
Another awesome tip...Thank You Izzy!!!
Amazing, so simple, thank you
This video was a lot better than the one I watched prior to this one. Simple and easy!! Thanks for the great video!!
Now I just need to find some wheel bearings, lol. Thanks for sharing.
Sweet! Can't wait till I have time to spend in the shop and build myself a workbench and play with stuff like that. :)
Excellent jig. Awesome, thank you Izzy.
Grande projeto Izzy! Deus te abençoe.
To get the spindle and tailstock lined up, I would have clamped both sides together and drilled out a lead thru hole in one shot. Then counterbore for the bearings second. This saves you from any drift or being off center when popping those bearings and shafts in.
By drilling both halves together, any error in drilling will still be on axis relative to each other.
Oh, Jigmaster Swan, thank you for the great video!
I like the way you did this video short and to the point. Good complete instruction.
Hey Izzy, that was a great idea. I happen to have a cored drill that I never use anymore. And to think I was considering. buying a crappy lathe that I may never have used. So much smarter to craft something myself that won't cost a fortune, so nothing much to lose when it ends up sitting unused in the shed. Thanks so much.
Love the video. Never cease to amaze
Exactly what I needed! Thanks dude :-)
You have a wonderful sense of making a great instructional video!
I was only thinking of making a homemade lathe, thanks for making it easy, great video😉
A video on fixing bearings into wood will make things easier . Just Like in this video but a detailed one for only bearings and shaft fixing
This is going to be an awesome series!
That's excellent! Great idea and explanation, and the video is so well done it was a pleasure to watch.
What a Great Idea from a soon to be 77 who’s dad had bought a wood lave to start making wooden toys for grandkids but he only got as far as the wheels before passing ... he had found that he couldn’t keep the dust off his camera lenses as he had a darkroom ie our Laundry/ Bathroom ... lol ... hence he bought the wood lathe etc. ... I just Luv the Smell of the wood being turned ... lol ... if some could capture that smell it would make millions ... lol ...
DUDE!!!
exactly what I need, you are the bomb!
That’s really cool! Thanks
AhHa! You're solving the mysteries of life for me Izzy.. It's quite possible for me to make round stuff now!
Nice jig Izzy. I knew right where to go to find a jig like this. Well done Sir.
This is awesome!
SO CLEAN
Thank you izzy!
It could not be easier then that!
Very awesome! Such a simple design!
Great video Izzy! Thanks for sharing. 👍😊
love the simplicity! :)
That guitar tone isn't taking any prisoners.
How simple and a lovely clear explanation :-)
Truly amazing!
Great idea! Thanks a lot!
Nice job, super simple and easy to recreate!
Brilliant! Thanks!
Great idea!
I can't wait to retire so I can play around with stuff lol 1 maybe 2 more years. Thank you Izzy you are the perfect entertainment/Guru
Daniele Silvaggi why wait?
Hey I like your quick set up and explanation. It's like a 'lathe on the fly' method, very cool indeed.
Wow, really a cool build Izzy!! Thanks for showing this to us. Just to try something out before dropping a big chunk of money one could see a little how it is to use a lathe.
Great info. Thank you
I know what I'm doing this weekend. Thanks for the video
This is terrific. I've had a small project gathering dust for ages because of lack of a lathe.
Making tools with smaller tools! I love it!
Love it .
Wow izzy that is just so awesome. Thanks for the idea
Great video duder. That was solid
That's a great little lathe ! Kind of opens the door for some great projects, looking forward to seeing what you come up with :-)
Love this
Cool !! I like that. Easy enough to make, and I like the idea of using wood chisel to cut it.
Nice quick build. Pretty. I think I could actually build one now. Thanks for the info...
Awesome build!!!
someone posted this in the homemade lathe FB group...nice little lathe for light duty work!!
One word, excellent, cheers...
Awesome video thank you 😊
