      Having cordless tools is really an asset of convenience along side having the corded version. I always go for the cord when I want to get away with something more aggressive or unusual and still have a tool and not a doorstop afterwards.

      @jsagers2008 4 роки тому +2

      Corded tools are great. Saves me from having to by the same brand due to batteries being exclusive. If you're a pro though it would suck.

      Have you noticed how cordLESS drills are getting higher and higher voltages . To bring them in line with corded drills. Unless you are moving around a lot on a jobsite cordless drills are redundant really.

    To get the spindle and tailstock lined up, I would have clamped both sides together and drilled out a lead thru hole in one shot. Then counterbore for the bearings second. This saves you from any drift or being off center when popping those bearings and shafts in.
    By drilling both halves together, any error in drilling will still be on axis relative to each other.

    Hey Izzy, that was a great idea. I happen to have a cored drill that I never use anymore. And to think I was considering. buying a crappy lathe that I may never have used. So much smarter to craft something myself that won't cost a fortune, so nothing much to lose when it ends up sitting unused in the shed. Thanks so much.

    What a Great Idea from a soon to be 77 who’s dad had bought a wood lave to start making wooden toys for grandkids but he only got as far as the wheels before passing ... he had found that he couldn’t keep the dust off his camera lenses as he had a darkroom ie our Laundry/ Bathroom ... lol ... hence he bought the wood lathe etc. ... I just Luv the Smell of the wood being turned ... lol ... if some could capture that smell it would make millions ... lol ...
