- Hydrovac Excavation currently stands as the least invasive form of digging/excavation.
Hydro Excavation is more efficient, precise, less harmful to the environment, safer and it sure as hell beats using a shovel.
Hydro Excavation is mainly used around utilities and will not damage exisiting underground piping and or infrastructure like water, gas, electrical and fiberoptic lines.
The process begins with high pressure water to move and break down materials ie. topsoil, shale, clay etc. After the material is broken down it’s sucked up by a Hydrovac truck with a massive vacuum system and in to a large debris tank loacted at the rear of the truck.

My parents used to get so mad at me for digging holes in the yard with the garden hose when I was a kid. Little did they know that I was actually just a visionary of a new industry.
Little late though, was invented in the 1800s 😉✌️

So the job requires a CDL, but seems that driving is a small part, correct? I've thought about hydrovac a lot, but don't want to work outside in the TX heat for long periods of time. I mean, I have run pneumatic tankers requiring me to be outside the truck for 45 min or so while unloading. But then I get to get back in the AC and get comfy again for 2-3 hours while I go get another load.
