When I was a kid I could not fall asleep at night unless the race was on we had them videotaped and I just watched them all over and over again and then in 2001 that was when my interest in NASCAR started to rapidly decline racing is just not the same anymoreit can never be the same without the intimidator on that track rest in peace do it for Dale
"Endurance" by Murray Munro is the name of the starting grid music here. Found it the other day by chance here on UA-cam, kinda stunned randomly clicking one of these NASCAR throwbacks and hearing it all of a sudden.
No, it wasn't. Joe Gibbs Racing ran the 1992 season with Dale Jarrett and Interstate Batteries sponsorship. The Daytona 500 in 1993 was the start of the second season in Winston Cup competition for JGR and the Daytona 500 that year of course was their first win (and only win for 1993).
@@LeoA2600 Correct, started in 1992 when Joe Gibbs was still coaching the Redskins. Then Gibbs retired from the Redskins to focus full time on NASCAR in 1993. Dale Jarrett drove the car for 3 years (1992-1994) before Bobby Labonte took over in 1995.
1:40:34… look at that top 5: 1st- Dale Earnhardt 2nd- Davey Allison 3rd- Bill Elliott 4th- Ernie Irvan 5th- Jeff Gordon With Rusty Wallace in 6th Me- my god👌
So many good announcing teams then. ESPN, CBS, TBS, TNN all had combinations of announcers that worked for more than one company. The golden era of Cup announcers.
Its sad to think Mark Martin had a chance to run the 28... and he was too good of a man he had to stick with his contract. Roush was a dead end for so many great drivers... Edwards and Martin.
'93/'94 were the best generation of stock car bodies....Change My Mind!!
GEN.
SIX.
@@jamiegioca9448cot cars are terrible and don't produce many close races.
Ima assume these all fall under the gen4 cars and they were the best imo
I agree
@@jamiegioca9448 Not even close. The Camaro and Mustangs are square as shoe boxes. No aerodynamics.
I agree, I think well into the 2000's cars had great design. Just seems kinda bland today, though I get the new style

That Gordon kid who finished 2nd has a bright future ahead and him
I was there for this and many more 600s somewhere around. 30 of them starting in1983.
Vintage type of night for that one dude all the Ford fans hated back then...

Man, I miss that black number 3 in victory lane…as a NC native it’s just not the same since 2001
I agree 🏁3
The Greatest Of All Time!
The 1993 NASCAR season was the first season for Joe Gibbs Racing, in which Dale Jarrett drove the #18 Interstate Batteries Chevrolet Lumina.👍

Iconic cars with iconic sponsors. Today’s racing you don’t know what sponsor is going to be on the car from race to race 🙄
I wonder what happened? when I first seen raptor on Byron’s Chevy I had to look that one up 😅
When does it go back to the Dyno to put the super tune in it
NASCAR need go back 93 and 99🎉
162,000 tickets sold. The sport will never be this popular again

Jimmy "Smut" Means LOL
aaaand another nudge by earnhardt, so annoying.
😂
Dale Earnhardt the best Wheelman in Nascar don't know how many times I've seen the 2nd or 3rd place car be faster but Dale out drives and Wheels them
Trash take by Ken Squier. Dale never touched him. Greg Sacks blocking a lap down
Think he never hit him either.
Sacks even said he did not think Dale hit him.
