I flew BKK-ZRH in February, but with SWISS. I always loved flying Thai, but prefer Lufthansa Group now. Thai doesn't have Premium Economy, which I find a good comprise between price and comfort. I also miss Thai's A380, which I used a couple of times. Let's hope TG finds its way back to being a premium airline and possibly reactivates a couple of their A380s! Think I will use them again soon to spend some miles, which will finally expire at the end of this year. Enjoy your time in Switzerland!
*_TG has a total of 6 A380s (2 TG-owned whilst the other 4 still on lease) and are considering plans to bring them back into its fleet._* But I must say there has to be a steady increase in demand to really make this happen as it is very costly to bring them back to service. As a matter of fact, they intend to return the 4 leased aircraft back and just concentrate on the privately-owned 2 A380s. If there's no premium economy available I'd say just book 2 seats for more comfort (cheaper than flying business), just my 2 cents.
@@TomyumSisig There are 3 daily TG flights between Germany and Thailand (2x FRA, 1x MUC)! And as far as I know they are well booked. Shouldn't it be more efficient to replace the 2 flights from Frankfurt with a single A380? But of course I am not an expert on this, just dreaming to get "my" A380 back. 😁 Premium Eco gives more precious leg space, 2 Eco seats don't help here. What I have done a couple of times is to book Eco and upgrade to Premium Eco, if available for a reasonable price. I think that TG had plans to introduce PE before they went bankrupt. Seem to be good times for all airlines. I hope TG will recover fully soon.
*_Probably the best chance for you to re-experience flying on an A380 from southeast Asia is to detour via Singapore, take some days off and enjoy Marina Bay Sands and then fly off to FRA._* As for me, my legs aren't that long so defo 2 seats make do if I want more space and there's no PE on the airline I'm flying. If you prefer flying PE, I reckon you should choose Emirates, Qatar, Swiss, or Lufthansa as TG has no signs of offering PE as yet. 555
@@TomyumSisig Yea, will take some time before TG can follow the trend for a little more (paid) comfort for Eco passengers. Interestingly they were able to introduce 1st class on some of their new B777. If I remember correctly this was on request from some higher echelons and not for economic reasons. 😉
