Preparing is key…don’t be distracted from sin or worldly things. Nature helps my connection and calms my spirit to listen. God speaks to us in many ways. Even Jesus would get up early to be alone with his Father when he prayed. Make time🙏🏼

My son left home
In bad terms so my heart broke but yesterday i felt good but today my heart is sad i had a dream a week ago i was kneeling infront of our lady of sorrows she had a big sord in her heart i heard i voice say thank another voice say gift of faith .my son is 25 he didnt have a bad childhood he was supported all his life with his mother and father So please pray for him tommy is his name he is fond of drink and all other undesirable agents thank you .Amen
God will find him keep praying and have faith. I was raised Christian used to lead the local church in prayers when I was really young but in my early to mid/late 20s I became atheist, drinking and smoking weed I even tried to convince my mom that GOD isn’t real but she kept praying for me. Now I’m 30 GOD came to me and I couldn’t say no it was clear and obvious and now I bow to HIM. It’s being a tough journey and still is but GOD always calls back his children or HIS children always find their way back to HIM, like the prodigal son. GOD find Tommy and Tommy will find GOD, in Jesus Mighty name we pray. Amen

Thank you for prayers yes we have 5 childten one Girl 4 boys our daughter flying from Austrilia to Ireland well she got on flight from sinapore to heathrow worst flight ever she thought she going to die Andrew her dad gave her arosary before she went on hols she took them out on that flight home and started praying she did get home safely but shook. Then as i said my son Tommy .well my wife margaret was a sleep then woke up middle of night prayed Holy micheal prayer then knock at front door our son Tommy my wife didnt want to leave him in i told to she went to open front door handle came off in her hand so door couldnt open so me andrew lefrt him in back door and then tommy freaked out roaring shouting cursing my wife came back down stairs asked him to leave he couldnt look at her and left like a mouse then my other son Andrew 18 good lad playing soccer broke his left leg in two plsces ended up in surgery at same time my other son Patrick broke his finger so we are asking our lady to purify our suffering .Dont know whats going on but its a nutty situation at moment but our other son he now totaly believes in God he had a big change of heart he 20 years So everting thats going on all for the Glory of God .Amen
Littles run my life at the moment, so my prayer/study time is wherever my Bible lands, but being more disciplined in having my Bible open and ready to go is probably what I need 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I think one of the steps for preparing for prayer is to make sure you're in the State of Grace by confessing your sins.
While important to work out your salvation with fear and trembling of course, here’s an important point. Still pray even if you are aware of mortal sins on your conscience. While you might not merit anything in a state of sin, you can beg God’s mercy and ask Him if he can mercifully grant you things you are unable to merit. The fact that you’re praying already requires a grace from God, and you should certainly beg for graces to make a good, sincere, and fruitful Confession.

I learn a lot from your videos. I will be 60 this year, and I have come to understand how suffering brings us closer to God. That being said, I am interested in hearing why it pleases God when we mortify ourselves. I see this practice as doing violence to oneself, and I wonder how it helps us to grow spiritually. Also it's important to watch media usage too. If you have a hard time relaxing your mind and entering into the mental quietness and instead have a lot of mental noise then tech/media use can be to blame.
1) Prepare for prayer - avoid staying up late at night, limit the friction in decision points by setting a time for your prayer time and setting up your space (e.g., preparing your next devotional).
2) "Stretch" - Slow down, take some deep breaths, recognize what you're doing. Be intentional. Place yourself in the presence of God. You're here to encounter, to have a conversation.
3) Follow Through - Develop perseverance and discipline by completing the prayer time and perhaps lingering longer.

I forgot who said it: when you pray, don't lie.
The good sleep part worries me because I have a one year old and I work second shift so I don’t even get home till late at night. Any advice for this situation?
I once knew a deacon who told me: "Just do the best you can." You can't do anymore than that, especially when you have a little one keeping you busy. If you can't do a Rosary, just do one decade. If you can't do a decade and you can't meditate, just say short prayers to God whenever you can as St. Therese did, to keep the fire of love going between you and God. And whatever you do, don't worry about sleeping. I've been hearing people recommending this for years and all it ever did for me was put more pressure on me to try to sleep better. Well, I still don't sleep well but now I don't care. I just pray the best I can and I try to trust that God is pleased with whatever I can do.

@@grespinosa I know you absolutely mean well. It all started as a traumatized child, Then I got SEVERE FULL BODY RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME. And you got the picture. I found it interesting you'd pick pulmonary DR. I guess because of Sleep Apnea.

Not to be mean spirited here, but what is the purpose of these videos? Whenever I watch them, I come away with more questions than answers.
I think they're more to help get you thinking. It's good to have more questions, that means you understand what he said very well and want more. I've found talking to a trusted friend who you perceive is above you spiritually or talking with a Priest can be helpful.
@@mr.schachte I’ve tried talking to a priest. I’ve been recently told that there is no way to know if any attempt at a relationship with God will be fruitful. It’s quite disheartening
@@markantonelli53 All attempts to communicate and follow God are fruitful. Even if you can't "feel" anything or you believe you are doing something wrong. Pray as you can, not as you can't. Allow yourself to do your best, and don't worry too much. God sees only your heart, so if you're hearts in the right place, you have nothing to fear. I've been on the same path man. You just gotta be kind to yourself and trust that God is merciful and will provide in due time.
