- Using a GM Door Latch to fix Ford's weak factory door latch
13591437 GM Part 2014-2017 Chevy Silverado/ GMC Sierra
Part number crosses over to many other GM vehicles
Use to fix 2015+ F150 and 2017+ Super Duty (F250, F350, F450)
Install and use with caution. I cannot held liable for improper information or installation - Авто та транспорт
This guy is SPOT on! The GM'S have more meat, and they're zinc plated so not only will they last, but they won't rust.
Great info, thanks for the video. My drivers door has been driving me nuts since the cold weather has started to shift the awful county road next to me. Suppose I’ll throw some tape on there while I wait for parts.
I got the parts in the mail. I'll install em tomorrow fingers cross it works.
Update - Got them installed the passenger side was a little off. You have to close the door a little harder. I hope my 17 xl supercab is better now 👍🏻
Thanks for the video. I thought my door panel was loose. That squeaking was terrible. I ordered two off ebay for 9 usd each.
Have 2020 superduty, can't stand the rattle! Thank u so much for this video!
My 2017 super can makes a click from the rear door lower latch when I step on the side step to get in the truck. The aluminum rocker panel deflects a little bit and it makes the lower striker move causing the latch to click.
My 2018 Super Duty has recently developed a rattle I haven't been able to figure out. Sounds like it's in the right rear door, I'll try this.
You're the fucking man!
My driver door squeaked terribly when I'd hit any bumps, squeaking directly in my left ear.
This totally fixed it!
Only thing I'd say is there's a TON of thread locker on those bolts, so when you're taking them off be careful not to strip it out.
I have a 21 f350 and my driver door drives me nuts. I may try this! Thank you! Also you said you had to adjust the latch. How do you do it
Will definitely be trying this
What are the screw spacing measurements?
Excuse me my ford f150 2006 cab an half my doors shakes when i pass some holes what can i do to fix it
Thanks for this video!! Rattle is driving me nuts on all my doors. I have a 2022 f350. I’m worried about the backer plate falling into the pillar cavity. What can I do to prevent this? Will the plate just fall off when you take out the two screws?
No, the backer is captured it won't fall
F150 2020 does it it’s annoying didn’t do it before it was lifted but now it does would this work on a f150?
Gonna try that.
Good video thank you question sir I have 2009 F250 do you know about door swap 2005 f250 doors fits me truck thanks
The surgical tubing/vacuum hose trick works great for 99-2016 Super Duty’s, shouldn’t need to change any strikers
Thank you
Need to do same with my 2002 Excursion.
Did this work on your excursion?
Bought some and tried to install them. The OEM Torx bolts were so tight I stopped. I felt I was going to snap them off. So I have four if anyone wants them.
Does your door rattle or does it have more of a squeak? On my 2018 f-150 it’s a kinda like a squeak and I think this will fix it...let’s hope
Tough to say, maybe a squeak on highway expansion joints and more movement and rattle on dirt road washboards..
I'm gonna give your idea a shot. My 17 f150 supercab rattles and sqeaks. So far I adjusted the strikers, added tape, And put small rubber pads. Where the door bumpers come in contact with the body. So far its been quiet-ish 🤞
Will this work on 2022 f150, i'm having same issure? Or will i need a different parts #?
Super Duty and F150 have different strikers
would this work for the 2005? I've replaced the strikers with new Ford ones, but it didn't fix the problem.
I doubt it as the 99-16 design is different than 17+ Super Duty
@@BullittOutdoors ok Thanks
Do you fell the doors are harder to close after this upgrade?
Not at all, at least from what I have experienced
Any ideas for a 2004 f150, I already pushed the jams in
Might try the surgical tubing trick that 99-16 Super Duty guys go with
I wonder if this works in a F-150. I have a slight rattle when I hit a pothole.
No, the latch is different between the F150 and Super Duty. On my 2016 F150 I did adjust the latch in slightly to help the doors from moving.
@@BullittOutdoors Thanks
So my truck is a 10 year old f150 scab, could this be the same thud that I'm hearing on my truck?
I’d try the surgical tubing trick on that generation of F150.
@@BullittOutdoors I'll have to test that. There's so many different rattles and knocks coming from those doors, it could be any number of things.
Took the rattle away but caused wind noise. Thanks for the video tho
I have a 2014 f250 super what do I need??
I'd recommend the surgical tubing trick for the 11-16 Super Dutys
Soooo say Instead of buying a new striker could I just take mine off and repaint with some rubbery type paint
Probably could. Might not last long though. Hockey tape or the GM striker are both likely easier to deal with
U think this method would work on a 2006 f250?
For the 99-16 Super Dutys most do the surgical tubing trick in the door seals
Will this work wirh a 2011 f250 crew cab?
I’m not aware of anyone using this trick on 11-16 Super Duty, just the 17+ Super Duty
Did you try it? I have a 2013 with this problem
Didn’t work on my 2015 f250. Holes didn’t line up
2015 is a totally different truck that’s why
Would that part fix an F-150?
No, different latch. Try the surgical tubing trick or adjust the latches in slightly
has anyone found one that works on 11-16 f250?
For that body style try the vacuum tubing in the weatherstripping. Worked great with my 2006 F250
🤦🏻♂️My bad. Coulda swore I saw somewhere it worked on a 2015. Must’ve got 2 thing confused. Wish it worked on mine
The surgical tubing trick works great for 99-16 Super Duty’s
You think it would work in a 15 Ford F-350
No, totally different latch
With one you recommended
You can use a f150 latch on the 11-16 f250s
@@caseyadams4659 what year of F150?
This wouldn't work for a 2001 f350 I'm guessing
Possibly using electrical tape or hockey tape but I'm not aware of a replacement striker.
90k truck with 4K miles makes the noise that much more intolerable. Sold my 2003 cause of the odd noises.
It works f#!$ Ford
😂😂😂 there’s a strike with a piece of rubber on it like the f-150 uses that actually will fit the super duty trucks
That’s 99-16, 2017+ Super Duty and 2020+ F150 is completely different
Just buy the Ford one.
Does Ford make a thicker black one?
2012 f 250 , will it work for that year ??
did it work?
You'll need to try the tubing trick in the weatherseals vs replacing the latch
