Today was the big day, and stocks went insane!! The Fed decided to keep interest reates exactly the same at their FOMC event today. From here, the big thing everyone is watching for is what they will do in the future. They are still unsure and are assessing the incoming data but the market is pricing in the soonest rate cut to come in November. The price action has been wild this week, and it won't slow down any time soon as there are even more big earnings tomorrow night. Apple, DraftKings, and more will report. Starbucks reported earnings today and got shredded. It will be very interesting to see how Apple does. Here in Canada, a large iced coffee at Starbucks costs $7.50. All you get is a plastic cup and lots of ice. I stopped going a year ago.

Starbucks should stop asking for tips. Tips are for servers at restaurants where you sit and they come to serve you.
This is my biggest pet peeve. Passing the card reader out the window with them starting at you with the tip menu up.
Just hit no tip, the coffee is already over priced, they can afford to pay their employees better, but don't so that's on Starbucks, not me.
Servers bring you food. Starbucks employees MAKE your drink. I think Starbucks workers deserve a tip more than somone who just bring you your food. The real issues is why the hell are tips being demanded in the first place? I don't go out to eat anymore. Right now it is a financial mistake. I would rather take that money and buy leveraged short ETF in preparation for the crash that is coming.
@bpb5541 A waitress or waiter has to share tips with the bus boy and cook which do not exist at a Starbucks. I'm not tipping for a 2 min act of making a coffee, which is dumping it into a cup. The tipping is out of control. Back to 5,10 and 15 % is OK with prices being as high as they are, not 20, 22,& 25% of my food bill, that's nuts.
Starbucks, plain and simple, is not worth it. The value does not exceed the costs.

I stopped going to Starbucks because the employees have a meltdown if you dont tip at the drive through ...I make my hot chocolate to go at home now

I couldn't imagine tipping at the drive through. That is absolutely ridiculous for them to even think that's normal.

Its a pause for several more months. Cut will happen when it happens. The change to the bond program plus Treasury doing buybacks is going to be the big deal.
Also I think this was a bear trap being set after the meeting. Go look at the volumes on a 10 minute chart. There was a massive move in the 4-410pm window. One megacap with a hair over 50million in volume had 12 million volume in that 10 minutes. I will not be surprised if that was someone short selling the megacaps and then exercising their options. I could be wrong, but I will not be surprised if that is bottom for the next few months at a minimum.

They've been hovering around all-time lows, I think they could surprise, or at least offer good forward guidance.
As a long time investment professional, we are not worried about the proposal of changing 9:30 - 4 PM stock market hours. That won’t happen.

Concerning don't you think? If the dollar went down that means people are losing confidence in it. That might be bullish for stock but in the end if it keeps falling in purchasing power not even stocks will dodge that bullet. The governments only way out is to inflate or they can decide to save the dollar. They cannot have both. Either one gets us to the same exact spot, which is devistation... Unless you are already rich and won assets.
@@bpb5541 I just use it to look for market opportunities. Currently, anytime dollars down, I can make a profit on the market going upside. It was short lived today, but I made a good profit. Market is currently in a range, and I'm waiting to see which way it goes
During the Powell speech, the market had that run up at 14:30, then plateau and then drop - that wasn't "bullishness" - that was short squeezing out weak-handed bears.
It was due to no more hikes, but yea the shorts didn't help that squeeze lol

SQ appears to be setting up as a bear trap before earnings yet again and I'm surprised you guys failed to mention the action on this stock today. But SQ has done this for the past 3 quarters but it is even more pronounced this quarter with investors already leaning bearish. If earnings meet or beat this one is poised to be a face ripper yet again! My guess is we pop up at least $10 for at least a 15% move higher!
