America's a new nation built on the backs & hard labor of immigrants from all nations, which is what sets us apart. Nowhere in the world was this ever tried before & many in the old world were convince that our little democracy would be smothered in its infancy. 80 years ago those ties to the old world were still strong, many had family back there. We said nothing to make them go to defend their distant relative, their ancestral homelands.

Different generations all have their own unique set of issues to deal with. The world was just much more simpler back then, so their issues seem trial to us today, but who's to say if they grew up now that they'd be any different than the rest of us today & vice versa. I think the way we behave, think, perceive certain situations, act & our challenges we face as a nation, even a state, have allot more to do with the culture that we're brought up in than we know sometimes. All my 7 of my great uncles fought in WW2.

Screwed a few up for life, never talked about any of it. I think they all wanted to forget about it. It was horrific. 80 million people died as a direct result of it. Most didn't even want to be heroes when they returned home, they just wanted to forget & who could blame them?
