Panem: A country based inside the past U.S.A. People raised out of the ashes (prob from a nuclear war) and rebuilt. They then established Panem. It consists of one man with absolute power over 13 (one partially-destroyed) "states". How much you want to bet, that after the Mocking Jay books, that the U.S.A was re-established and had the same flag (13 stripes meaning the 13 states).

I can see Christopher Lee as President Snow if the movies were made in the 1970's - 1990's
He probably would’ve accepted the role if his health had let him. The only reason he chose to play Saruman again was because he wanted another chance to play him before he died (he never left Britain for The Hobbit trilogy filming unlike other cast members since he wasn’t up for traveling). But yeah, I’m sure he would’ve considered playing Snow.
Oh I love it... Full Sound and still epic.
I just want to play this on my Phone while walking and just pretend I'm the Victor of the games.
don't know 5 seconds silent from start is intentional or not, but i love that.
Rest in peace Donald Sutherland 😢
He shall be missed.
I love this anthem it feels so epic and creepy at the same time because I always have to think of the pictures of the fallen Tributes with this music
Am I the only one who didn’t know this had words
Nope,, I didn’t hear any words rip
I didn't hear words either
@@misshollis7547 it’s been a year….
the symbol of panem is really.. hum... it makes me think of two famous dictatorships in the history..
really? i thought, of course, nazi germany bc of the eagle, and fascist italy, omg i'm happy i'm not the only one, bc everybody's like "blablabla.. talking about the anthem but.. blablabla.." and NO ONE has said one word about that! hahah
It kinda reminds me of the Roman symbol if you look a the SPQR flag
It is Like the Roman Empire and Socialism combined
Though, if used right, it can take on a different meaning... *cough*profilepic*cough*
Panem's government is a dictatorship that reminds me of the Soviet Union or North Korea. Those in the districts starve while those in the government live in luxury.
Actually the real lyrics are:
O horn of plenty, a horn of plenty for us all.
And when you raise the cry,
the brave shall heed the call
and we shall never falter.
One horn of plenty for us all.
O horn of plenty, a horn of plenty for us all.
And when you raise the cry,
the brave shall heed the call
and we shall never falter.
One horn of plenty for us all.
O horn of plenty, a horn of plenty for us all.
And when you raise the cry,
the brave shall heed the call
and we shall never falter.
One horn of plenty for us all.
Oh Capitol.
Your glorious diamond shine.
A tribute to the darkest days behind.
One horn of plenty for us all.
Viktor1999 Has
You has gay
You from Panem?
What’s district 3 like? 😂
Viktor1999 Ur right!
When you've read the Ballad of Songbirds and snakes...
Inserting the real words into this music...
GEM OF PANEM
MIGHTY CITY
Through the ages you shine anewwwwww
Or something like that
Jackson C it’s right
GEM OF PANEM
SEAT OF JUSTICE
Lol the district 12 girl from the ballads of songbirds and snakes is Katniss’s gramma
It gives me chills everytime I listen to it. MASTERPIECE
Gem of Panem,
Mighty city,
Through the ages, you shine anew.
This hits different after reading the new book and finding out the lyrics were changed because Snow had to sing the original anthem at funerals for the mentors.
The subtitles are so damn WRONG
MisterX2998 yeah
"Capitalism: Less govt, more individual rights"
No. It is an economic system. It does what it wants. No-one except you makes those 'laws'.
Panem ain't Capitalist.
Meanwhile in a parallel world people are looking up in the arena hearing this song while seeing the tributes who died
And our world is their Movie
Kinda crazy to believe this became the USA and Canada after WW3
Actually after a disastrous event
I mean there was no government so someone had to step up
Can you imagine all the other nations of the world looking at Panem and the hunger games like "WTH is they doin in there that doesn't seem right"
@@rochesterball3832 Well Panem only was in North America, could there be other countries in Europe or Asia but heavily deformed aswell
@@PeruvianPotato probably

Yeah
Same 😂😂
These arent even the lyrics😭

I've watched this series hundreds of times and I've never heard these lyrics till now.
”Our nation will never fall again.”
Katniss Everdeen: Hold my berries
No one:
Catching Fire: Let's keep playing this song
Reading the wrong anthem in A Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes just hits badly.
Here are the actual lyrics:
Oh Horn of Plenty
One Horn of Plenty for us all
And when you raise the cry
The brave shall heed the call
And we should never falther
One Horn of Plenty for us all
Oh Horn of Plenty!
One Horn of Plenty for us all
And when you raise the cry
The brave shall heed the call
And we should never fall
Oh Horn of Plenty
One Horn of Plenty for us all
And when you raise the cry
The brave shall heed the call
And we should never falther
One Horn of Plenty for us all
Oh Capitol
Your glorious diamond shine
A tribute to
The darkest days behind
One Horn of Plenty for us all
One of these fit more, but other's don't sound like it
Imagine an old lady singing this louder than a rooster's crow early in the morning
say what you want of the capitol, it has one of the greatest anthem ever!
0:22 I love this irking dangling "again" at the end as the entirety of the series is captured in that one word.
The beginning turns my fight-flight mode on. The series are amazing😌
I suppose we'll only find out if Suzanne Collins decides to write another book. Personally I'd like to read a prequel of the events in The Hunger Games.
Dario Gagliano Me too. We could also read about Snow and his rise to power,
Clader213
That'd be a treat. With the success the books and the movies have been enjoying, who knows?
Dario Gagliano Yea! If I was the author, I'd say YES!
***** Same general area. And if you look at the map, the water levels have risen dramatically. Also, the Canadian part is mostly forest and unexplored while the Mexican area is left alone. But still, you're right.
Romans would just laugh at a nation called "bread"😂
Lmao
A man of culture I see
Italians too 😂😂
It's also Polish for "Lord"
Actually, I think that the point.
If this is the only evidence aliens found that we existed they would have lots of questions
when it says my our nation never fall again, doesn't it fall every year with the hunger games?!?!?1/1
Huh
Hunger Games Fan Titus No
Hunger Games Fan Titus- no that is "what keeps their nations from falling" as the capitol would say the hunger games strengthen the nation, more like instills the fear of being beaten by the capitol and failing at a rebellion
It means the long ago rebellion aka dark days
Trident Gaming true
Oh my gosh!!!! I've been looking for this song since I've wacthed the movie for the first time \o/ It is so epic that almost makes me cry and like Panem
This is exactly what I always thought a facist dystopian anthem sounds like, genious take from the production
It's all fun and games until this starts playing everywhere.
Sounds a little like the USSR talking about plenty of bread when its citizens were starving
Or you know them sending that bread to the starving citizens unlike Winston Churchill in Bengal when he could have prevented it unlike the USSR which couldn't due to the previous empire and natural disaster.
This damn song gave me chills, it makes me wanna watch the hunger games again.
This one song makes me love the capitol
These are the real words.
Oh Horn of Plenty
One Horn of Plenty for us all!
And when you raise the cry
The brave shall heed the call
And we shall never falter
One Horn of Plenty for us all!
Oh Horn of Plenty
One Horn of Plenty for us all!
And when we raise the cry
The brave shall heed the call
And we shall never fall
Oh Horn of Plenty
One Horn of Plenty for us all!
And when we raise the cry
The brave shall heed the call
And we shall never falter
One Horn of Plenty for us all!
Though dark may fall
Through darkness light will shine
As they believe
The darkness is the light
One Horn of Plenty for us all!
gotta love how they added "again" after "may our nation never fall"
Its crazy how I react to this song. Within seconds goosebumps travel all over my body
Imagine panem athletes competing in the Olympics and this playing as they step on the podium to receive gold 😃
I am starting a petition to make this the new American national anthem
Came back to this after seeing a Ballad of Songbird and Snake
Everyday we are getting closer to end up like panem
Who else listened to this song 40 times in a row?
are you aware that the lyrics are wrong?
the actual lyrics are:
Oh Horn of Plenty.
One Horn of Plenty for us all!
And when you raise the cry
The brave shall heed the call
And we shall never falter.
One Horn of Plenty for us all!
Oh Horn of Plenty.
One Horn of Plenty for us all!
And when we raise the cry
The brave shall heed the call
And we shall never fall...
Oh Horn of Plenty.
One Horn of Plenty for us all!
And when we raise the cry
The brave shall heed the call
And we shall never falter.
One Horn of Plenty for us all!
Oh, Capitol
Your glorious diamond shine
A tribute to
The darkest days behind

and nothing about panem raising and reigning above
Pi Miner I never knew. Thanks for that
@@namepending7526 you can find the lyrics here: thehungergames.fandom.com/wiki/The_Horn_of_Plenty

Katniss: “hold my Peeta”

*kisses my 3 fingers and raises them in the air*
It's astonishing how anthem-y this sounds
"I volunteer to tribute but only if you get me McDonalds after, I'm hungry." What any 12 year old would say if the Hunger games happened in the USA
”the horn of plenty overflows”
District 12: am I a joke to you?
The Capitol: Yes
"The horn of plenty overflows"
