Damn it. A week of watching you and I've eliminated cheese and eggs finally. Everything else I've given up a few years back .. but eggs & cheese were the hardest. Often, I would justify my purchase and consumption by choosing "open range" poultry and "humane" dairies, while I knew it was bulls*it.. and you just confirmed how absurd that psychology is. Watching you at the UK Dairy convention and learning from the brands you buy at the store here has helped me greatly and made it quite easy to stop emmediatly. Today, I bought more brands of vegan cheese, and found Quorn brand meatless products here in New York! Tomorrow, I'm making vegan tacos. I was raised in the Central Valley of California..lived next to daries/ranches..and was in FFA all 4 years of high school. They groom us to become farmers and livestock business. My animal totem is strong today and my connection to creatures is great, as I no longer eat my friends. Thanks again brother. Oh ..had my first vegan ice cream today. Coconut based. Amazing!
Joeyyyyy!! (& viewers..!!) Was shouting at my laptop when you were looking at the chocolate - forget the pricey and not always that tasty 'free from' bars and just grab Sainsbury's own 'basics' range plain chocolate from the bottom shelf of the regular chocolate aisle...it's something crazy like 60p for a decent sized bar and actually really good for munching/baking etc...'incidentally' vegan unless they've changed the recipe since I last used it. Also their 'taste the difference' date and pecan granola is soooo good and uses date syrup not honey etc (I add it sparingly to my overnight oats and that way it lasts ages) LOVED this video, looking forward to other UK supermarkets - and thanks for everything you do :D
Love this video, please do more! Sainsbury's is I find the best supermarket selection-wise out of the big 4 (Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Asda), where I live anyway, but some of the stuff is a bit pricey (haven't been able to try Daiya products yet!). @@michelemustafa7912 Great idea! He'd probably need to try some of the products on offer beforehand though he'd be able to describe them. I wonder if there are youtubers who have already done this. I'll do some research.
What about the animals being slaughtered as they produce your rice from the fields? Oh wait they are not cute and big like a pig or a cow. Fucking hypocrite
Thanks, I enjoyed this video. It will be great to see you do this again in other supermarkets. I know that asda and waitrose have a good range also maybe at Greenbay.
Brilliant there is no excuse in the UK so much choice its mind boggling. Its a bit basic where I live in France but I can buy tofu, soya burgers, falafel and a cheddar style cheese, peanut butter chickpeas lentils beans etc oh and plant milks and alpro yogurt not too bad eh!
I think it's coming together slowly in France from what I could tell. Hopefully it will change for the better soon. Have you tried the Nature&Moi vegan cheese? I know it's not widely available though (some Auchan and Carrefour for the big ones). They are bringing a camembert in November that looks so real (I was never too keen on camembert but wouldn't mind giving it a try).
@@yannattack5971 they have great products from time to time but only for a few weeks in our local carrefour, then they stop selling them. Luckily I love tofu and chickpeas!

wow you have so many more options than here in the US. my stores (besides whole foods or other "fancier" markets) usually only carry one or 2 vegan brands
I agree. It’s so easy to be vegan but sometimes it’s a bit “limited.” Even Walmart has vegan options (yay!), but only one or two brands of each thing. I love natural grocers though!💜🌱
Vegan is so easy to do. Thanks, Joey, for showing people all the choices we have today. And I love how you tell it like it is. I hope you never change.

I wish major supermarkets in the UK had a stands section where you can buy grains, beans, nuts etc by weight. I've only seen it in Lidl over here and only for peanuts, cashew nuts and pistachios. When I went to France this summer they had a massive stand in a small local Carrefour with all sorts of nuts and cereals you could put in paper bags and weigh yourself (I'd bring my own jars if possible though 😀)... Anyone know a store in the UK where I can buy those by weight?
I asked on Facebook and got lots of replies with locals places that sell whole foods in dispensers in my area which is great! Most replies were from non-voyants. Funny though how I never get likes/replies from them to my posts about animals...
Joey, please come to South Korea and expose the pathetic supermarkets with almost no vegan options. We only have a few soy milk brands here and that's it.
I agree with your statement over eggs and milk being put in quorn... why? Why do they put milk in tomato soup and veg soup? How does that make any sense?
Morrison’s has always been a bit shit for vegan stuff however the last few months they’ve stepped it up and honestly they might be better than Sainsbury’s now
Unfortunately many cereals are "fortified" with vitamins. Vitamins that can come from sheep's wool grease. It's not listed as an ingredient, but check online if you're not sure. There is a lichin alternative to sheeps wool grease but it's more expensive for the manufacturers to use, so they don't in the main.
RookieLicence yeah it does make me sick as I know where it comes from, when you’ve seen the violence behind these products it makes you see it in a whole different light.

I got rid of a "friend" of 30 years tonight because he refuses to accept his part in the animal holocaust by continuing to corpse munch. Insisted I take him to his favorite death restaurant for his birthday dinner. I said no way, he whined, and I was like, bye asshole. Some friend. Vegan for life!
Also in sainsburys, I asked one of the bakery workers if any of their donuts are vegan, the worker I asked was vegan himself!! And he said the raspberry and vanilla donuts are actually vegan as the "custard" filling actually doesn't have any custard in it !!! They are lush !!
Sainsbury’s also do great vegan burgers, 8 for £1.60! I feed my dog 8 vegan burgers with a bit of ketchup everyday along with snacks like carrots which he loves!
Unfortunately dogs are primarily carnivores so make sure they get some protein in their diet please. A lot of people don’t realize feeding only vegan to dogs can be considered abuse.

Thanx soo much Joey, lovely options in Sainsbury's, coincide with lots of products here in the Netherlands ^_^ Can you do Lidl in the UK if you haven't yet already??
I think it's important for stores to have these options, to make it more accessible for people in transition or just trying stuff out. But yes, whole food plant based is the way to go if you wanna live a long healthy life and not be broke lol!
Simon Simon You should never assume people don't know what they are talking about, and don't do their own research. That's very patronising and judgemental. I have been vegan for a long time, and do my own intricate research, I don't assume and don't listen to just one random source. There is also a huge different between roads and cereal. I cannot float down the street unfortunately (that'd be pretty awesome), but can choose not to eat something that I don't need to eat. I also do make a point of asking in shops for change instead of notes, but that's just me being me.
Joey you are a champion, a front-line soldier in the vegan movement. I hope that millions of people see this video for it demonstrates how easy it is to be vegan today. I live in Sydney Australia and our supermarkets also carry an increasing number of vegan foods. There is hope for the future!

WhAaaaat bruh this store has more vegan milk options than any that I’ve seen! Are more people vegan in the uk? So the supply and demand goes up? I’m in Canada haha! Still easy to find vegan options here
I live in Denmark. Here isn’t that many vegan options, which is really sad. Also it isn’t really socially accepted, so people really think I weird or a hippie, when they find out I’m vegan. I’m only 14, and my parent were really against it at first. Now they try what I make and usually they really like it. Animals first! Love your work. Thank you for what you’re doing!
Dear Joey, i like the way, you are talking, straight away, the truth. We all should speak our heart and if others are offended, they should reflect themselves and don't be offended by our words, but more about the practise behind their own food-choices. Best wishes from Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany.✌🌻☮ P.S.: btw, would like you to have an eye on germanys slaughterhouses, too. Especially Germanys biggest one ("Tönnies") could be interesting, as the CEO Clemens Tönnies is the perfect match of a disgusting unappealing guy, that earns billions of Euro by slaughtering over 20million piggies a year (alone over 30.000 a day in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, where the Main slaughterhouse and headquarter is situated). He is very well known in Germany, as he is still chairman of the supervisory board of the famous german Premier League Soccer-Club "FC Schalke 04" (that he supports with millions), although he just spread out some rassist phrases about people in africa and earned a shitstorm, but got away without any restrictions (spoken free by the "ethical-board" of the soccer league DFB, of course). He exploits as well the workers, that are hired from eastern europe countries and have to pay a lot for their accomodation (nearly like slaves). He always talks condescending about vegan food ("the hype is over") and he is a very disgusting and self-assured guy, who just cars about his money and like to bite into sausages on camera. Germany could need your help (he is nearly like pierce morgan).
Sainsbury's is definitely one of the best for vegan foods. Very good, clear labelling. The exception is bread - as Joey said, watch out for eggs/milk - not always clear with fresh bead. I recently bought a bread maker because of the uncertainty (not just Sainsbury's but all UK supermarket breads). Shockingly, even my bread maker came with a list of suggested bread recipes which ALL included milk or milk powder! Sainsbury's also offer one of the best ranges of vegan wines - if you enjoy a tipple :-)
You can have your cake and eat it, too! People can't imagine their lives without meat and cheese usually, but the market is changing, and those people won't have to "suffer" to make the shift. 🙌
They should actually put happy cows on the vegan milk alternatives! This will then show the hypocrisy of dairy milk and the supposed "happy cows"...
Good idea!!
Love this idea!! 😆
Great idea and I can see the dairy industry being triggered at this. "You can't put cows on milk alternatives as it will confuse the customer" 😂
I don't ask cows to be happy.
They should put photos of what the cows really look like.. Like how they have those nasty pictures on cigarette packagaes. That'll turn em

Amazing!
Very cool video series idea Joey! well done!
RSPCA should be ashamed to endorse meat.
I went to Sainsbury’s today. I support and love you 😍 Joey...
What's it like in Australia Joey? What's it like in other countries I wonder.
Looks like some countries have it better than others, reading the comments, the UK having it pretty good!
Joey, take this idea and as you go to other countries, visit the super markets!
@@michelemustafa7912 Great idea! He'd probably need to try some of the products on offer beforehand though he'd be able to describe them. I wonder if there are youtubers who have already done this. I'll do some research.
Love this video joey ! Thank You for all your hard work the Animals need you
What about the animals being slaughtered as they produce your rice from the fields?
@@Blucamels that's a shame if their availability is limited in time but it happens over here too, and as someone else mentioned in another comment maybe they are trialling those products. Lucky for you, I love those foods too! 😊
People don't need an excuse to not be vegan.
Alpro really Is the OG of alternatives, sat here munching some lentil chips. No excuses anymore look how straight forward it is, thanks dude
*2019.......Year of the Vegan Activist!*
I'd go as far to say the 2010's are the decade of the vegan activist.
@@jonnythelegs2597 2020's will be the decade of the VEGAN mass adoption
Facts!
Every year is better than the last as veganism grows exponentially 🙌🏻
what is a activist
all it is are movements that wanted to be like JESUS the one and only activist
Im going vegan after watching your videos and this helped me a great deal so thankyou so much for everything you do
Really annoying indeed how they make those dairy products look all nice and green as if that somehow makes it good.
Great video Joey, wish we had Sainsburys here. I've forwarded it to my daughter she lives in the UK. Thank you
"Oh wow look I'm over here" lol @7:02
@Nicole Rose lol I was just quoting Joey?
I find Joey’s videos really useful to come back to when others cause me to doubt my veganism. Thanks joey!
Morrisons own icecream is my favourite. They have two plant based options. Only about £2 quid. 👌
Great video. ✊
The chocolate swirl one is so amazing. I haven't managed to get my friends to try it yet because it's gone too fast 😂
Thanks for the heads-up
Will give them a go
And thank you for making this video! Very informative. We don't have that many vegan products here in Copenhagen, but I see it expanding more and more!
love how pissed off u get shopping im the sameeee
Thanks Joey! Very helpful! Keep it up.
wow you have so many more options than here in the US. my stores (besides whole foods or other "fancier" markets) usually only carry one or 2 vegan brands
Ralph's, Kroger and Food 4 Less are catching up thank goodness I found Gardein at F4L the other day.
I agree. It’s so easy to be vegan but sometimes it’s a bit “limited.” Even Walmart has vegan options (yay!), but only one or two brands of each thing. I love natural grocers though!💜🌱
@Ribeye Demon stop being a hater gfto vegan videos. peace!
Vegan is so easy to do. Thanks, Joey, for showing people all the choices we have today. And I love how you tell it like it is. I hope you never change.
Went vegan after watching Earthlings. 60 next week and still Vegan AF 👍. More supermarkets joey please so I can share them. ♥️
💚
Wow, you went to my favorite supermarket and picked up (and liked) all the things I buy! Nice one, thank you Joey, it was great going shopping with you :P !
Wake up in the morning wantin' some breakfast. What am I gonna spread on my toast? Oooh, oooh, Vitalite!
Meridian peanut butter. 100% peanuts. No added sugar, oil, etc. The large tub is the best value. I'm wholefood so that's my go to peanut butter.
Aldi peanut butter is 100 percent nuts and no sugar much cheaper
Excellent Joey, is really well worth doing to show what is available and explanation of dodgy items like the free from section, particularly useful for the very many new vegans and many looking at possibly changing to be vegan.
13:00 "Ah I don't really go down there... EXCEEEPT... haha awesome lol. Loved this video and your honesty about the "death" section. That's how it is and so sad that people literally can get cruelty-free one step away. Wonderful man keep it going!
don't a lot of cerials have d3, an animal derivative?
Even though I've eaten meat for almost 28 years (I'm 28, just) I can't wait too start doing my but for the environment and the animals.. I'm not easily convinced but after seeing so many videos of what animals actually go through, it's quite sickening
Love this Joey! ☺️Looking forward to the series👍it really is so easy now, thanks to the work of all the dedicated activists ❤
Elizabeth Shaw Mint Crisps are accidentally vegan choccies if anyone with the munchies hasn't tried them yet! Great video. 👌
Love the way your so spontaneous... Makes it look really simple... As IT IS, actually! :)
I get a lot of my vegan products from Sainsburys, although I do pop into Aldi, Waitrose and M&S for their own brand lines. 4+ years Vegan and running marathons
Sainsbury's seems way more vegan-friendly than Morrisons
Morrison’s has always been a bit shit for vegan stuff however the last few months they’ve stepped it up and honestly they might be better than Sainsbury’s now
I love watching your content, thank you so much for doing all that you do!
That katsu curry is amazing
Omg I have to try it now
Unfortunately many cereals are "fortified" with vitamins. Vitamins that can come from sheep's wool grease. It's not listed as an ingredient, but check online if you're not sure. There is a lichin alternative to sheeps wool grease but it's more expensive for the manufacturers to use, so they don't in the main.
I can’t go down the meat isle. It makes me sick. If I see anyone with meat in their trolley I can’t look them in the eye
Oh get over yourself, you can’t look them in the eye.... makes you sick to go down the meat section.... calm down and get a grip
RookieLicence yeah it does make me sick as I know where it comes from, when you’ve seen the violence behind these products it makes you see it in a whole different light.
rachel rowley I’ve seen some videos online which was disturbing with American chics being killed alive, I believe they were males. It’s a difficult watch.
But knowing that and seeing footage which other vegan channels but up. It still doesn’t put me off meat. I understand where it comes from and I accept that.
Apologies if my original comment was to forward or rude.
My brother is also born in April 1987 and he is 33 and I feel familiar vibes, very authoritative personality, I love this to death, Thank you Joey for everything!!
Great videooo, I was at Tesco today and they have pretty decent vegan stuff there too, our moviment is changing the world and no one can deny it. Go vegan!!!!!!!! Keep working like this Joey, you're brilliant!!!!!!!!
Your litteraly the biggest joke in the world you just dissed your own bro for something so petty my god u are the literal definition of a bitch
Watched this at 1 am and now I'm hungry 😭
@@Jade-tb3zv vegan dogs are healthier than meat eating ones. This is also a misconception.
@@dwarfi923 A dogs digestive tract cannot digest vegetables properly. If your dog has an iron stomach then fine. Abuse your dog in the worst way possible.
@@dwarfi923 Raw fed dogs are healthier than vegan dogs as well. Lemme see your mutts shiny coat after a lifetime of vegetables.
@@Jade-tb3zv I will be sure to send you pictures. Look at Dr Andrew Knight's work and V-dog brand which is a complete vegan dog food and has evidence based research behind it. Also love how you talk about animal abuse and advocate killing other animals to feed your own dogs at the same time
thanks for showing this,i showed my mom and today we went saynsburys and we found alot of things we bought also the chocolate and i was impressed because you cant notice the difference and we bought the ice cream im so excited to try it
Love this video! Great idea... refreshing! That’s so me when I go shopping! 🤣🤣 and you usually find vegan products in the middle of animal products, right there in the middle!! 🤦🏻♀️ thanks Joey.. 🙏
Absolutely! But it wasn’t a complaint of mine, just a tip for those trying to find what they are looking for because it took me a while to realise this ☺️✌🏻
Thanx soo much Joey, lovely options in Sainsbury's, coincide with lots of products here in the Netherlands ^_^ Can you do Lidl in the UK if you haven't yet already??
I hope my country will have this kind of market soon so its easy for us to go vegan
yeah but the easiest food to cook and most delicious if you cook well enough is a whole foods based diet, which equally easy in any country
I think it's important for stores to have these options, to make it more accessible for people in transition or just trying stuff out. But yes, whole food plant based is the way to go if you wanna live a long healthy life and not be broke lol!
Great video, Joey!!!❤️❤️❤️
Why is there such a small section in Belgium 😩 maybe i should re-locate 🤔😍
From London with love ;) Thank you Joey x
Kellogg's uses vitamin D which is made from sheep's wool grease, so not vegan. Great video 👌
@@KaptainKastle Kelloggs confirmed that they use vitamin d from lanolin.
I HAVE contacted Kellogs. It is a direct statement and I don't read any of that crap lol.
@@KaptainKastle Not 100%, more me just being stubborn..
Cannot post on here?? But have a screenshot..
Don't forget the long life milk section, oat, soy, coconut & many more plant based milks are cheaper there!
Joey you are a champion, a front-line soldier in the vegan movement. I hope that millions of people see this video for it demonstrates how easy it is to be vegan today. I live in Sydney Australia and our supermarkets also carry an increasing number of vegan foods. There is hope for the future!
Nice one. You could do it on other supermarkets like Asda, Tesco and Aldi 👍🏼
You can even get a vegan butter that is made out of almonds and shea butter. My mum said butter was the one thing she missed but is very happy with her vegan butter.I forget the brand name but it's in a black container. The nush almond milk yogurt are the best ...not cheap but well worth the spend. All the time they are expanding their range ...you can get follow your heart veganaise too.😊
WhAaaaat bruh this store has more vegan milk options than any that I’ve seen!
Are more people vegan in the uk? So the supply and demand goes up?
I’m in Canada haha! Still easy to find vegan options here
Alchemist S it will be a hypermarket, we have a lot of them in the UK now. ❤️🇬🇧
Best wishes from Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany.✌🌻☮
P.S.: btw, would like you to have an eye on germanys slaughterhouses, too.
Brilliant Joey love your outlook on animal welfare and yes myself and wife are vegan , can you do Tesco next I hear they have a good range too 👍👍
That place is huge! Support everything you do
Love this break down in the grocery store... How easy is it to go vegan these days..... Simply the easiest!
You can have your cake and eat it, too! People can't imagine their lives without meat and cheese usually, but the market is changing, and those people won't have to "suffer" to make the shift. 🙌
