Another 1?! I love fishing games.. it's so relaxing.. after a long day of work or out running errands and if fishing season is over, come home and play a fishing game. The graphics look pretty good.. hope you're having a good Tuesday so far Jeff
The shine on a fish is a real thing. I fish probably 200 days a year and I can tell you that I've sight fished for fish after seeing that flash in the water. Maybe they could just make it a little more subtle or correct looking tho. But it does happen often.
I guess the animation when using an OP rod setup almost makes sense. I'm sure we've all set the hook a bit too hard on a little fella and slung him clean out the water, or you get them up top and just ski them all the way in.

As a fisherman there still isn't any fishing games that really feel real or give you that immersion that you are actually there. This game didn't look all that appealing to me
My personal wish list for this game. 1. Get rid of the strike gong 2. Add Musky & Musky lures. Make them as hard to catch as they are in real life 3. Chance for fish to come off lure 4. Chance for fish to miss lure (especially topwater) 5. Make Pike fight harder 6. Ability to have multiple poles in the water 7. Different size boats. From kayak on up. 8. Add snags (trees, lily pads, etc.) that can cause you to loose lures. This would force you to be more strategic with your casts 9. Different cast types (over hand, side arm, etc.) This game has potential, but I'll wait until they're done some major updates before I get it.
I love fishing for pike, especially when trolling they are a good fight and good foo, I got 4 in my freezer after all (thanks grandpa for cleaning em since I am aweful with a knife)
Largemouth bass are opportunistic feeders in real life they are surprisingly smart they will not strike the same lure twice unless they are really desperate for food.
Also in real life Northern Pike love the weed beds because that is where they usually wait for a smaller prey fish to go swimming by. But Northern Pike love spoon lures or anything shiny because they rely on sight for hunting.
Kokanee is pronounced Coke a Knee... Or even coke uh knee... Just say it relatively quick.... Kokanee is a form of landlocked trout very closely related to Sockeye Salmon, although some would say they are just landlocked sockeye.... But there is a slight difference to the fish. Kokanee is also the name of a Pilsner beer brewed in the Kootenay mountains in Creston British Columbia.... Anyway, keep up the great work as always Jeff
My opinion is that if it's arcadey then so be it , they went with that direction so that's what we'll get. After a day's work it'll be nice to chill with friends playing this.
Just got done walking the whole map 🤦♂️ one thing i think would be nice is kayaking or something similar to paddling around. Smaller boats of some sort.
Some things I see that I don't like, for example the black screen when you catch a fish just like you said. But also a lot of good that I see. Would be the icing on the cake too see The Hunter Call of The Wild merged with this and be able too go fishing then hunt whitetail all in the same game.
Speaking of fishing. Are you ever going to play North Atlantic again. Been curious if you ever reached the goal of getting the big boat for crabs or lobster.
It's a really pretty game. I love having scenery. My go to lure in the evening was always a top water Jitterbug by Fred Arbogast. I also love my Rapala's. It will be really cool to see what monsters you can reel in.
Jeff liked it, therefore Steam and hardcore enthusiasts will hate it! It looks fun for what you played, I like the idea of an open world fishing game. That's also a difficult balance.. making the non-fishing stuff as interesting to do, otherwise you'll just have everyone fast traveling. I've played a handful of fishing games in the past, they're either too arcade or too sim. This seems like it strikes a decent balance.

The absolute best fishing I have ever played to date was Rapala: Pro Fishing. It was available on pc and ps2 (those were the two I had). One night I went to sleep and had a dream. I dreamt of an open world fishing game where you could pull a boat around and go to various real life places and fish. This has been the closest game to that dream and I was hoping it wasn't going to be arcady. Unfortunately, it looks like it is. I hope they add options to turn all that shit off at release (7 hours from now) as a day one patxh sorta thi g. I hope the animations get fixed, I hope the visual issue are worked out. This game has an immense amount of potential if the devs play their cards right, listen to the community. With that said, I can't wait to play!
Good video Jeff. I’ve been playing Ultimate Fishing sim 2 which I’m liking. Great selection of equipment and gameplay but the open world interests me. Hope they improve this a little.
I can't get over the "rotation" slider. Wow. And the black screen for a moment when you pull in a fish, and also when docking. What the heck? Hey we have very pretty graphics but let's black it out when the player does certain actions? So this isn't as good as I was expecting. I've been playing "Ultimate Fishing Simulator 2" which just entered early access and is more of a budget title but it does many things better than this. Thanks Jeff for the first look at this game.
I'd love to see a camping mechanic in one of these games where you could go fishing, drive back to your camp and like skin your fish, clean your game and cook it and just hangout with people around the campfire
Hi Jeff this game looks Awsome I don't get why they made a separate game they should have just added this to the hunter call of the wild so people can choose if they want to hunt or fish.
I know this is new but honestly I'm kind of disappointed in this and i was looking really forward to this game. That black screen like you mentioned in the beginning im %100 agree with you i would like to see me pull him out of the water and if i need it i would have to grab my net. No wake from the boat. would like a boat store where you have to drive to in person have to hook up my trailer like something like american truck sim ( have it pre parked out back gotta hook up like ATS) then drive around lake to lake put the boat in dock it and park the truck or whatever you are using. yano give the game some DEPTH some realistic feel, arcade is cool in all for some aspects but fuck i want a good fishing game lol. But being able to fish with other would be dope. Also agree you cant talk to others.... wtf. Honestly the Independent feeling in video game more feel push i guess you can say vs. what i was used to as a kid (aka you want to play with others) is getting old.. you have this huge big ass world but you cant communicate. uhh why?? The blurred circle around you would annoy the shit outa me. with some good tweaks would make this game really fucking cool. Think Jeff of all you and the guys grabbing your vehicles and boats going out and fishing, maybe competing in a tournament together or simply on the same boat just cruising around fishing shooting the shit. Obviously its new and shit can be tweaked and put in, well see in the future what this brings.

"Koh Kuh Nee" they're great fresh water salmon to catch. We used to catch them in Cheesman Lake and the South Platte in Colorado when I was a child.
