In India, We have a festival called Janmashtami (Lord Krishna's B'day)
Where people climb on each other to create a pyramid like structure and break the pot filled with butter (Lord Krishna loves milk products, especially butter).
They just placed these montages in the movie to show their deep friendship in no time.

    - "Eega" (also directed by S.S. Rajamouli)
    - "Kalki 2898 AD," top-grossing sci-fi film this year.

There is a reason for Gandhi not being put in the song, and that is this movie is about celebrating the unknown freedom fighters those who failed and died in the process, just like Ram and Bheem(:on whom the main leads are based on). Gandhi has enough recognition even outside the India and many remember him every year on the Independence Day.

Alluri Seetarama Raju and Komaram Beem are two real life characters. Rajamouli the director has taken inspiration of their lives and try to stich a story with their inspiration.
Even before Gandhi there were many freedom fighters in India. There are many freedom fighers who doesn't agree with Gandhi and who don't agree to his non-violance ideology. So it is no wonder for Indians on why Gandhi wasn't shown and we never even had that thought of why Gandhi is not shown in the film.

We appreciate your love and passion for our culture and movies. You are correct, British Govt installed puppets like Gandhi who misguided and corrupted India from within and delayed independence by almost 2 decades, india was still governed by puppets till 2014 then our Honourable Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of Bharat and we have been climbing new heights under his leadership.
Given that 165 Million Indians were removed from earth by Britishers just between 1880 to 1920 and looting minimum of 45 Trillion dollars, human experiments on WWII, open fire on innocent women and children in park, breaking down a nation into pieces, Artificial famines and epidemics created by them erasing all the industries....
In real life both of the brave characters who fought beyond what humans could achieve then were hunted and sh0t down.
There are thousands of cases of things that would put shame that a human can do to another human.
Kindly watch Sardar Udham 2021 movie one of example.

Some details about the movie characters & Historical backstory:
Originally Alluri Sita Rama Raju, wasn't a tribal himself, he went into forests for helping tribals, actually used to wear Saffron clothing and used bow & arrows resembling Hindu god "RAM" (was also a sharp shooter) It was his approach to stand as a symbol of inspiration for tribals to revolt (known as Rampa Rebellion, with motto "Mande Rajyam" which translates to.. Ours is this kingdom) against British in Visakhapatnam agency. (Some believe that Alluri Rama Raju taking "Sanyas" (divine way of living) after death of his love Sita, was the reason for his Saffron attire). Sita really was his lover's name and after her death he changed his name from Alluri Rama Raju to Alluri Sita Rama Raju. Born in the West-Godavari (a district of present Indian state Andhra Pradesh), in a Telugu Kshatriya family to Alluri Venkata Rama Raju and his wife Suryanarayanamma, after his parents died (when he was 12) was raised by his uncle Rama krishnam Raju. He was a well educated, civilized man who felt that the tribals are the ones being suppressed the most by british, and went to forests and dedicated his entire life for helping them fight british, although wasn't a tribal himself. He used to do guerilla raids on British police stations (after informing & challenging them that he's going to come & attack and stop him if they can) and collect guns & weapons, using an army of armed tribals by training them. It's said that it costed more than a million even in those days, for the british to finally find and execute him. They killed Rama Raju unethically while he's unarmed, performing a morning Prayer.
Komaram Bheem, a tribal himself from gond tribes of Adilabad (a district of the present Indian state "Telangana") is rumoured to be an extremely strong man, and to hunt a tiger by himself. He used to wear muslim disguises during his revolt against Nizam. He died fighting the Nizam's of Bhagyanagaram (Present day Hyderabad)
In Telugu states (Andhra, Telangana) everyone knows these things, maybe not in other states. They were referred as Sri Ram and Bheemasen (since long back before the movie even existed !!) from their names and features (Rama Raju's- Saffron Attire, his lover's name is "Sita", both are Kshatriyas, both went to forests and made an army using tribals, men of extreme commitment, Komaram Bheem- Physical strength, Crude attacking nature, Perseverance) being similar to characteristics of Lord Ram from Ramayanam and Bheem from Mahabharatam and out of the level of reverence they've achieved from people.
Both left their homes almost in the same period and then returned after some time and started their revolutions against British and Nizam respectively. After returning home, Rama Raju started wearing Saffron clothing till the day he died fighting for tribals, and Bheem came back as an educated man and started his rebellion with motto.. Jal, Jangal, Jameen.. with translates to Water, Forest & Soil.. As no one has a clear idea about what happened to them in that period when they left, and what made them become revolutionaries.. the movie writer wrote a Fictional story that they met and became friends and Bheem was the one who gave Rama Raju a Saffron attire and that he got educated himself from Rama Raju, connecting everything that was remembered in telugu people hearts.. if we see carefully, we can see all these details used in the movie clearly.. The mythological references are used in bgms.. as these freedom fighters are actually revered by referring them as Lord Sri Rama and Bheemasen.. in many parts of Telugu states...
Other details : -Rama Raju is also referred by people as "Manyam Dhora".. which translates to King/Chief of the Wild Forests and Komaram Bheem is praised as "Gondu Bebbuli".. which translates to Ferocious Tiger of Gond tribes. These names are also referred in the Original (Telugu or Tollywood) version of movie, which is on Disney plus Hotstar & zee5. The one in Netflix is Hindi dubbed (bollywood) version. -Also The Indian Flag used throughout the movie was the older Berlin Committee Flag (designed by Madame Bhikaji Cama, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and Shyamji Krishna Varma) corresponding to the time period. (Current Indian flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya, also from Telugu land) -The bike used by Bheem was the older world war version which were designed lightweight for men to lift and carry them when required.
-Names of Freedom fighters shown in the rrr movie ending song & which indian state they belong to & their language : -Subhash Chandra Bose (state west bengal/ orissa, language Bengali) -Sardar Vallabhai Patel (state Gujarat, language Gujarati) -Kittur Rani Chennamma (state Karnataka, language kannada) -V.O.Chidambharam pillai (state Tamil nadu, language Tamil) -Bhagat Singh (state Punjab, language Punjabi) -Tanguturi Prakasam panthulu (also RRR Heroes Alluri SitaRama Raju & Komaram Bheem) (state Andhra, language Telugu) -Varma Pazhassi Raja (state Kerala, language malayalam) -Chatrapathi Sivaji (state Maharashtra, language Marathi)

For me , the most impressive thing is writing. Specially for Ram's character . He made you feel every emotion in 3 hr runtime . You felt scared , adored , angry , sad , empathetic , happy , excited , amazed etc all in the same fucking movie . That for me is one of the best written character arcs in fiction cinema at least.
Also the Bheem-Ram arc , if you think about it , if Bheem hadn't saved Ram in the first half from the snakebite , he would've achieved his goal . In the second half , the reverse happens , if Ram hadn't saved Bheem from the execution, he would've achieved his goal .
    BRILLIANT !!!!!

I have personally ventured into many foreign cinemas but trust me the variety in filmmaking artistry and storytelling that you can find in India is next level . For example , the 2 most awarded movies at National Film Awards ceremony for 2022 were RRR and Sardar Udham , both have the same subject matter ( revolution against oppression ) but they are polar opposites in the way their stories have been told .
To summarise , there are 5 major languages in Indian Cinema , each with their own industry names .
      Bollywood ( Hindi )
      Tollywood ( Telugu )
      Kollywood ( Tamil )
      Mollywood ( Malayalam )
      Sandalwood ( Kannada )
We have a whole platter of movies and movie-making methods out here in India . From oscar worthy content to pure action entertainers , cheesy rom-coms to great slice of life dramas , horror thrillers to superhero movies . For now , I have a few recommendations from Bollywood that will definitely change your perception :::
      1) Barfi
      2) Andhadhun
      3) Dangal
      4) Taare Zameen Par
      5) Chhichhore

Its a spoof movie made on our own Telugu movies in an exaggerated tone. He was a dedicated actor for a spoof genre who is not any serious professional actor. He lives in a village, leads humble life. He was brought by the director to act in such films. He has stopped now as there are no buyers for such movies. He was over-exploited for spoof genre. It doesn't add any value to him and can damage his self esteem if he ever took it seriously. The actor was never self-delusional. His only intention was to entertain audience.

SS Rajamouli is legend he broke the languge barriers in movies inside India with Bahubali (Big thing he dosent even work in the main bigger and more known industry Bollywood) and with RRR he took it internationally. He has his own genre of movies. He says he likes his heroes doing impossible things. And he is wild with imagination.
Watch his Bahubali series Heighest grossing movie in India.
Dangal(Aamir Khan movie from 3 idiots) is basically highest grossing Indian movie internationally because of China release.
The lips dont match because you may have watched dubbed version in Hindi. The origional version is Telugu language
The multi genre movies India are called Masala movies (mix spiece of diffrent tastes), mix of every emotion. I dont think most of Indians can enjoy a great movie like Dune or some other big movies it could be very boring for them. They want to feel hard emotions. That is why MCU movies are popular here.
And just to inform you, no we dont name movies after actors. As you know RRR was a just production title the marketing team told them to keep it because due to pandemic production was on hold for so long that RRR stuck with the people.
In Tamil language industry fans started calling the movie with the name of the actor+ movie number for actor till the original title is announced.
Now almost all industries refers to movies as such till the original title is reveiled.
The reason for no Gandhi is that the chracter they are playing were the ones who picked weapons against british. So every revolutionary in that song is the one who fought with weapons not with Gandhian ideology

British didn't introduce Christianity in India. Thrissur, Kerala in India and most of South India had Christians from AD 1 or 2. From St. Thomas. Like 1700 years before British coming to India. Maybe much before Christianity reached Britan. FYI, Jesus is also an Asian.
Islam also was in Thrissur, Kerala and South of India much earlier than rest of India.

The ending song shows the various freedom fighter who gave their life for freedom from various parts of India. Its awesome the director showed the tribute to them in such a way.
The character of ram is inspired from the real freedom fighter alluri seetaaraamaraju and bheem character is inspired from real life of komram bheem. They never met in real life but their approach for the goal of freedom used to be different and as per history they left their homes at same time and returned back after three years. There was no actual historical reference of what exactly happened during that time.
So the director took the liberty of making a fictional story in that time period and assuming they met. The director implemented their real life character traits of both those freedom fighters in a larger than life canvas
Komram bheem used to sing folklore songs to inspire the people of his village. Love the way how the director implemented his character trait during the flogging scene.
Similarly for the alluri seetha rama raju who used to have the attire of orange robe with bow and arrows similar to Lord ram and there are many such instances of their traits being potrayed

Hmm, about the dubbing quality you have pointed out but before that I must say your are quite accurate about the way India films a picture.
Coming back, I say Indian Cinema considers dubbing as 'second time acting' for the same scene.
So I say we had long perfected the sync and for this scale of movie(:practically an SSR) there shouldn't be a problem.
Maybe it has to do with original language or even dubbed Indian language you might have watched, because in our films whenever a foreign language(:out side India) is spoken we voice over it our native lang. once again and you noticed what you can say an unsync.

Mutiny began with a new cartridge being introduced by British officers which was made out of pig and beef fat and its seal had to be opens by biting it off. This actually triggered both Hindus and Muslims, further the revolt was backed by some Indian royals. And the talk about India and other counties still being controlled by British is just a conspiracy theory, our freedom fighters gave their blood and sweat to gain independence. 1:06:22 I love the discussions so far and I hope you guys watch more Indian movies.

A small correction. Indian movies are not named after the actors. That's not how it goes. The story is when RRR was first announced, they didn't have any title in mind. 50:30 In South Indian cultures, it's common to marry a cousin-such as the daughter of an aunt, a father's sister, or a mother's brother. This is how Ram Charan’s character ends up marrying the girl in the film. In the movie, Ram Charan plays a lone wolf who had a deceased family and brother. In those times, socializing with friends was a common pastime, and he finds a friend who shares his traits and is equally steadfast in helping others. Additionally, Bheem, like Ram Charan’s late younger brother, has a habit of eating with his left hand and all his actions remind him of his younger brother. If you're interested in seeing Ram Charan in a somewhat secondary role, check out the film "Rangasthalam."

'Ram Charan' is the second generation actor, after his father Chiranjeevi, who is very HUGE star.
'NTR JR' is actually the third generation actor, after his father and grand father. But his father didn't make it too big, though his grand father is the LEGEND of the Telugu Cinema. In fact his name was NTR.Sr(Nandhamuri Taraka RamaRao) which is passed down to NTR.Jr.
Regarding both the actor being always the 'Protagonist'. That's how Indian Cinema works. Many strive to be the HERO of the films. It is rare you can see them making an appearance in other movies. And that is exactly why this is SO BIG.

India fought for absolute freedom, and it remained that way. Brits couldn't interfere with India affairs after India became a republic. India even a paid a price for it with Pakistan allowing similar interferences and getting into war with India. The hostility towards India during cold war led to India becoming close to USSR during that era infact.
