Elevation of the Holy Cross Feast Day 2024

The Feast Day of the Elevation of the Holy Cross was solemnly celebrated at the Greek Orthodox Church of Holy Cross in Box Hill, VIC, on the 13th and 14th of September 2024. His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne presided over the Vespers and Divine Liturgy, with the service being conducted in collaboration with the clergy of the Diocese of Melbourne. The priests included Fr Irinaios Koikas, Fr Stavros Kakavas, Fr Panteleimon Laskaris, Fr Demetrius Catrinei, Fr Anthony Vanikiotis, Fr Nicholas Georgiou, Fr Haralambos Pyrellis, and Parish Priest Fr Dionysios Rallis.
A notable guest at the services was His Grace Bishop Themistocles of Nicopolis from the Patriarchate of Alexandria. He delivered a captivating and insightful sermon on the significance of the Holy Cross and its deeper meanings.
To conclude the service, Bishops Kyriakos and Themistocles distributed the Artoklasia, or "Five Loaves," to the congregation, extending their warm wishes for a joyous Feast Day in honour of the Holy Cross.
