I agree sounds like the water is moving too fast through the radiator to get cooled. We also had to install a spacer, the easiest sometimes is just to take an existing thermostat and "knock Out" the guts of the springs, etc..
Also....Port Royal is the epitome of racing and facility for us here in the Northeast. Im already looking forward to this event next year!

Shows the quality racecar driver and person you are, watching those gauges and putting on a buttwhipping at the same time......most of those drivers would have run that motor till it puked....great great job

Oh yeah the speed palace was there last Friday night for the world of outlaws sprints I wish I would have known that the modifieds were there I'd been there
Boy that car was hooked up and Mike was smooth and right back on the throttle as close to perfection as I've seen get a timing light on it and read the spark plugs to see if she's a little lean I think Jenny is a hot 🔥 babe Rock on with ya bad self. CONGRATULATIONS

Great win 🥂🏁❣️ congrats❣️Pss mike, restrictor plates are the answer , can't fail 😊 can easily be custom opening for flow . Trusting thermostats on planet earth 🥴 not . Without a thermostat , there's nothing to pressure the coolant up tight against the cylnders to pull heat from them & stop the tea pot boiling bubbles from forming . Mayby old school but never fails . Mayby a brief, high end lean out ? Created the heat so late in the race ?? Should show up on plug reads, but not in bold way. Thank You🥂 Mandy👍🥂🏁🥂

Got to wonder about the draws for the starting line up for the heat races Matt , Mike , Stewart all starting in the back off the heat races and what a drive Mike did on night two starting 10th and one time he was 11th and I'm telling u what a performance all other cars were up on the top and each driver Mike would come up on one by one he'd just drive under them and say goodbye great job Mike hop the engine stays cool for tomorrow night

Congrats on the win. Hope the heating issue is sorted out. Thank you for letting an old guy hang around and watch. Hope I didn't get in the way! Can't say enough about the friendliness of both crews (especially Mike's Mom and crew) and also the cooperation between the two crews. Racing as it should be! Thank you also to Billy Sr. for taking the time to chat with me and filling details of his time driving the Don Arnold owned #57 many year ago. Best of luck to both drivers tonight - a one, two finish would be great!

Congrats from Central California! I hope you solve the heating issue. Those can be very frustrating, but from what I read here there is no shortage of good ideas from experienced guys, so, with your on site race crew's know-how and all these great suggestions, I'm sure you'll get it "sorted" quickly! Again, congrats! Well done!! And thanks to Mandee for seeing to it that we can see it all from wherever we are! Great job!!

Was there even 200 people in the stands-??? Oromoters nightmare-! How come-????
Gauge? Curious what your infrared temps were on sides of radiator, top and bottom. What size restrictor used after taking out thermostat? WP impeller slipping on shaft? Got the correct impeller rotation? The list goes on to the more " OH SH*T!" causes...
Running 230 before 40 laps?....Will never make a hundred laps....Would have have to park it before motor says "SEE YA"
Are they grinding the tires in the right direction?
Looking good, nice driving and wow what a nice race track.
Would be curious to hear what was the actual overheating problem. I have had those aftermarket aluminum radiators have clogged rows.
Having been on a team and others with same problem. Timing moved 'retarded" or one of the jets in carb got plugged.
If this was a Sprint Car the "barrel valve" moved or you got to big a main pill in the car.
great job, maybe the water pump is pushing the water through the system so fast that maybe a restrictor might slow the water from running through the system so fast... I Just had to do this on my race engine. After the temp dropped 20 degrees - just a thought. Regardless I hope you find the problem. Good luck the rest of the weekend
Hate dealing with cooling issues myself and I swear every car is different. I put the same radiator, fan, restrictor and all in my new car that’s identical to the setup in my last car and it runs hot lol makes no sense I’m in the same boat
