  • Murder Inc. was an organized crime group, active from 1929 to 1941, that acted as the enforcement arm for the Italian-American Mafia, and operated mainly in New York City but also across the whole United States. In this video we examine their rise and fall, from a small street gang in Brooklyn to one of the most feared groups in the country.

I must say the terror and tragedy of these videos shocks and saddens me, but helps me deal with certain aspects of my own drama, it makes me think positively about ways of dealing with people. In a way it is therapy. At least these psychos duked it out with each other and not innocents. Yet I am sure they hurt innocents, directly or indirectly.

In naming the two men that Louis "Lepke" Buchalter hired to kill Joseph Rosen, the narrator only got it half-right. Mendy Weiss was one of the hitmen, but the second one was not the hoodlum called "Pittsburgh Phil." (I forgot his last name) The other assassin was Louis Capone, who was mentioned a few times here. These two and Buchalter were all convicted of the Rosen murder (partly on the testimony of a man that "Lepke" thought he had killed, but in fact, only wounded) and were executed in the electric chair at Sing Sing Prison in 1944. Buchalter was so far the only big-time Organized Crime boss to suffer the death penalty in the United States.
Incidentally, Louis Capone was NOT related to the notorious Chicago crime kingpin, Al Capone.

Same as Capone. It seems that during those days the gov didnt have any hard evidence, like murder, against these guys and so they gave them hard sentences for small cases, just so they can go against the big time Mafiosi individually, not to destroy the organization as a whole. The point was for the prosecutors to go up in their political careers. Like Dewy...

The Godfather was not Fictional……….the major players were changed that’s all. The young Lawyer was not Irish or an orphan. He was Jewish and his parents were very much alive.

Brooklyn guys allways hide in manhattan if they know they have hit put out on them... at most they leave to Newark for two months, then come back.
You need to leave! Like atleast to Canada somewhere but not Montreal, Toronto etc.
