You go girl !!!! How did he talk you into going up the pole ? NO way in heck my wife would have done the stuff your doing ! Your earning your Captains bars for sure !
Fun Fact: Jason is afraid of heights. Hence why I went up 1st. He eventually had to go up, because I didn't know how to "tap" the stripped out screw holes so he had to get over his fears and go up himself 😂
Having mast steps makes it easier and are nice to have. Try it sometime in a boson's chair, on a smooth mast if you want a true mast climbing experience. The mast can flex under wind loading some, so hopefully you allowed the cable to move slightly when attaching it to the mast steps. Keep an eye on chafe.
Hi Mr. Jason, I must ask you a question. Why did you install the Radar cables outside the mast, if the inclement weather will attack it harshly, wouldn't it be better to pass them inside with a simple fishing line? Thanks Jason, you are doing a good job.
I didn't want to drill a bigger hole in the mast, and everything we are doing is very time sensitive, two yrs of driving that distance is too much. Need to get things done in the short time we have. Thanks for the advice and questions
So, this is light enough to put on your mast? Our radar up the mast makes the boat roll badly in a following sea. I was against it because we were sailing in the tropics, not in New England, so there was no need for radar. The only thing we saw on radar we could see with our eyes. Then the radar died, yet is still on the mast.
All I know is there was a radar up there before. This new radar is lighter then the older one. Nehan may be on the small side, but she is kinda heavy. What kind of sailboat do you have?
@@707getbent6 my boat is a 45 year old Bristol, with a narrower beam. Our radar is big and heavy. Until I saw the radar on the mast of my boat, I’d only see radar on poles about 10’ above deck on transoms.
@susanc.8009 we have a 10.5 ft beam. She seams pretty heavy. I've seen several other sailboats around us with the radar up the mast. The good thing is we never been on a sailboat before so we won't know the difference. But it does seem like a good place for it. Up and out of the way with a good view

I can’t wait to get bent to this new episode
Me too!
I'm patiently waiting for the next episode! 😊
Good job maritza!! Proud of you and your handy skills! I knew you could wire the radar all by yourself
That was impressive!

You must always set the radar on the screen to the north, so that the bearing and distance are true and not relative.
