I really liked Mariah’s voice at this stage of her career. Just after her first 2 albums (where she belted most of the time), she’s got more finesse with her dynamics and more relaxed in her delivery. Boy, was she in good voice on this night. Every aspect of her voice was on point. Head, chest, falsetto, whistle...was all there. I’ve seen some not so stellar performances from her prime but when she is on, SHE IS ON!! What a perfect night to be on because this Unplugged album is imo one of her greatest. BTW, this was my very first Mariah CD.

@@seven92023 she has all of those things but it is widely accepted that Mariah is known as "The Songbird" and Whitney "The Voice". I think it is fair. Mariah can be more gentle and writes her own songs but when you hear "The Voice" you think power and, though Mariah undoubtedly has that too, that is the one aspect where she does not beat Whitney. Unreal, generational, gargantuan talents either way though.
When people ask the difference to me personally I always say: Mariah is the best, lead singer of the choir. But Whitney *is* the choir
