Bret Hart vs Diesel Survivor Series 1995 is a classic and you could watch that match every 5 years and still be entertained. It never gets old and it’s just a great match. It never gets mentioned enough but it shows that if Kevin Nash never went to WCW for financial reasons he could be the best big man in wrestling along with the Undertaker. He just didn’t care anymore once he got paid in WCW, it’s a shame.
@@Tim82ATWAgreed. 1 AND 1A. Shawn was great at getting the crowd to "believe" in everything happening in the ring no matter how ridiculous. He put on a show. Bret sticks out more in modern times because so few people focus on making everything make sense.
I knew HBK and Bret would be Nash's favorites. HBK and Nash had that excellent match in 1996 at the "Good Friends, Better Enemies" ppv and of course as the "Two Dudes with Attitudes" were an excellent dominant Tag Team in the mid 90's. While on the other hand you had Nash having excellent matches in the mid 90's over the World Title with Bret Hart as well. Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett had great matches with Nash as well during that time as honorable mentions.
My theory. Ric wrestled the same match. As when he was wrestling as Champion in the 80's. You didn't see him every week. But he did the same match more to protect himself from injury. The rings were probably horrible & he has to wrestle every night. By the time the 90's came around & wrestling was more national. Ric was already the legend to the point. He didn't have to change his style for anyone.
I always held it against Vince that he never delivered a Kliq faction when we were weeks away from it. Fired Hall right before the Michaels return. He used the Kliq so much to get DX over and then he never gave us a Kliq reunion even when all the guys were there and active. So unbelievably weak we never got that.
About a year and a half ago I watched a bunch of 97-2000 WCW. Nash surprisingly sold a ton. In outsider’s matches, Hall was usually the one getting the hot tag and I thought that was cool for a big guy.
Scott Hall was the real deal. Worrying about the fans tells me all I need to know about a wrestler. He always put on a show even when he was stoned or whatever.
Shawn was more flashy, entertaining, athletically exciting. He was like watching Raiders of the Lost Arc, or The Avengers, or Star Wars. Bret was more psychological, more technical, more dramatic, more real. He was like watching The Godfather, 12 Angry Men, A Few Good Men. If you wanted thrilling, exhilarating spots, you wanted HBK. His ladder match at WM X with Hall is a perfect example of is style. If you wanted a psychological story you could get invested in, you wanted to watch the Hitman. His match with Austin at WM 13 is the best example of his forte.

Nash's best match was his match with Shawn at IYH 1996. Certainly better and more entertaining than the very good matches at RR and SS '95 with Bret. They had a very good match at WM 11 as well. As far as getting elevated is concerned, guys like Shelton Benjamin, John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, Jeff Hardy, and Edge got majorly elevated after working with Shawn. Shawn took Kevin Nash from the Oz/Vinnie Vegas abyss of wcw headed NOWHERE and got him over to the point he was given Hulk Hogan's spot essentially and he was Wwf champion for a year straight!
