    It's videos like this that we will all remember after World War 3 or a huge economic collapse and we will be able to build amazing tech from scrap parts thanks to forward thinkers like M.N. Projects. Thankyou.

    Seeing that the led strip is probably about 15Watts/1000 lumen, and the led modules are cool white, so around 10W/1000 lumen each, that aluminium profile does not have enough surface to radiate all the heat. It probably runs very hot when you leave it on for half an hour?

    Have You made power consumption measurements ? With resistors in series You lose min. 14% of total power.
    Did You consider constant current power supply insterad of constant voltage supply ?

    • @kingchiefk.c.7662
      @kingchiefk.c.7662 5 років тому +1

      Do you need the resistor?? Should just be able to hook them up in parallel with no resistor if you have a driver right??

    A very neat build there, I was told that you also need to put an electrolytic capacitor over the supply in leads, this stops any large in rush currents that could destroy the chips, it basically gives them a soft start. I think I used a 25v 1000uF

    • @TheBlackadder-Edmund
      @TheBlackadder-Edmund 7 років тому

      He mentions he is using a 12V supply, which in turn will be DC/Capacitors etc... wouldnt the rush be the same adding a capacitor or not?

    I made a lamp by paralleling two 3.7V 18650 lithium batteries to two 1W LEDs. Can you tell me what the correct resistor is? When the two 3.7V batteries are fully charged, they are around 4.2V, so the LED heats up

  • @davidferguson8478

    Good job! But on video you compare brightness this two lamp, and you didn't compare power. You use 12 powerLED, and this lamp has 12W electrical power, while second lamp has 2 strip of 60cm, so this lamp has something about 5-6W.
    Tell us what is a total cost of your product? :)

    Одноваттные "звёзды" лучше клеить сразу к профилю термоклеем, предварительно отогнув ножки вверх.
    Таким образом из теплоотвода исключаются подложка и один переход "металл-термопаста-металл", что значительно улучшает отвод тепла.

    Nice video I'm trying to build 8 foot long grow lights for a greenhouse growing Heirloom tomatoes I'm wanting to install them in the trusses of the greenhouse I want to use 4:1 ratio 650nm and 460nm with a few 730nm far par I'm sure what I should use 10 watt leds? I found 75 in long heat sinks on line but not any longer (heat sink USA.com)
    I would like to wire up 240 volts and daisy chain a few if possible if not then I would run homerun power back the electrical panels but I don't know where to begin and I am trying to get 200 micro moles of light at the plants at 20 inches above the Tomatoe canopy got any suggestions for this project? Leds, power supply

    We Myde lighting now to develop a new wireless LED strip lights. This new light with no solder joints connected. So greatly reducing the failure caused by loose solder joints. In addition, we use a new type of PVC, eliminate the smell of the existing LED strip lights. Because of copper foil do wire, therefore cooling better to improve the LED beads use efficiency, per Watt lumens higher. We compared to existing LED light strip, the quality greatly enhance. the price with the existing LED strip lamp with almost, with a strong value for money. If you are interested, please contact us.

    hi, Great video. I eventually got around to making my own led lighting bar. only thing is, it flickers a bit like a strobe light. Any ideas?I've only used 9nr led instead of twelve. Would this make a difference? it's run of a 12v DC transformer.

    • @davidkomdeur
      @davidkomdeur 2 роки тому +3

      I'm late, but if you are still wondering it is because the transformer still has AC on the output, so put a full bridge rectifier over the output of the transformer and connect the LEDs to the output of the fbr

    Congrats you mad a 12 watt light. I can go to Walmart and buy 12 watt energy efficient bulbs in 4 pack for 2.99$ takes 10 seconds to install wallah light. Takes just one to light my room. However, was a good idea for a video on how to though. You should try and make them use less than 12 watt like say 8 or so. Then it could be a how to save on the electric bill video.

    Wouldn't it be better to reduce the voltage (diodes, adjustable led-driver) slightly, you would lose a tiny glimpse of brightness, but have less power input, resulting in less warmth and the LEDs could live a longer time?!
