Nice demonstration. Not every day you see this much trapping demonstrated in karate. Can definitely see the white crane kung fu influence.

Yes, trapping is a significant part of okinawan karate.

Esto es el verdadero espíritu y esencia del goju.Fusionando la sensibilidad con la rapidez y potencia. Cosa que hoy es difícil de encontrar.Gracias!!!!

Is this the same person as commented above with a different account? I’ll say again, there are no punches shown in the video so I don’t really understand the point you are making.

@@mortgagefinancing5558 agreeing with what..that someone isn't 'punching through' even though no punches are being shown? - I really am trying to understand.

Punches are being shown but not real. They stop right infront of the defender. No body mass is involved nor is it following through ...therefore not realistic..static position. @@GKCgoju

@@mortgagefinancing5558 I believe that you are mistaking an interception of the person's guard as a punch. Imagine reaching out your hand to someone's face and they put up their hand to stop you; that's what is happening in the video.

Not practical in reality as these are not real punches following through with body mass...if there is no body mass and the practitioner stops the strike in front of the person its not real.

Thanks for the comment. Although I’m a little confused as no punching is demonstrated in this video. The purpose of the video is essentially to show how to release tension as contacting (in this case pressing) is made.

But if you are not demonstrating it in a real punch situation it wont work in reality. Its like showing the proper way to fly fish..that would be great but if the lake is frozen in the winter time fly fishing doesn't apply. @@GKCgoju

Jim, Physics is important for fighting but there aren't any punches, so what?

@@JimCunningham-jr7qv No, it's like showing principles of redirecting in judo or bjj where no punching is taking place.
