New Trail Exploration and Dedication Along the Indian Head River

The Indian Head Trail Coalition was thrilled to be joined by members of the Mattakeeset Tribe to dedicate and walk the new trail with the community. The IHR Trail Coalition is a partnership between The North and South Rivers Watershed Association, Wildlands Trust, Plymouth County, and the Towns of Hanover, Pembroke, and Hanson. Saturday's event marked a major accomplishment with the creation of this new trail which connects two very large natural areas. By connecting protected forested areas allows people and nature to have green corridors to traverse and explore beautiful locations in and around our communities. This trail is named for, and dedicated to the Mattakeeset Tribe. Dr. Larry Fisher, Sachem of the Mattakeeset joined us, along with fellow members of their tribe to officially open the trail.
