I'm looking for a comparison in history and come to the conclusion that the Sardaukar are a mixture of the Janissaries, kidnapped and Islamized, fanatical Christian children who fought for the Ottomans and the German SS. Historical models don't really work well with Dune because it is just so damn far in the future there is very little direct cultural connection with Earth, but if you had to use a historical model, yeah.

The Denis Villeneuve version of Dune shows a single scene where it just happens to be raining on Salusa Secundus, UA-cam creators now assume it ALWAYS rains non stop on Salusa Secundus.🤣🤣

Maybe it isn't like in the book, but its a good kind of "show don't tell". Its just a short scene, but you felt what kind of people the Sardaukar are and the horrible planet they live on is. Again...maybe not like in th book, but it fit perfectly. And it has also a kind of symbolic nature with it. One a desertplanet with the fremen, the other a dark, rainy (maybe toxic rain because you don't see much plants of any kind) and the Sardaukar. Two opposite enviroments in the extremes, that made humans adapt or die.

I know there are tools to deactivate incoming video data to save these "tiny" amounts of power but not everyone is using them. Also, not everyone has his default video res at 144p, so we may have many people running this video on high res without actually watching them. And then what should the full HD be good for? When UA-cam videos run, you not only consume power on your device all the infrastructure required to store, recall and transmit this data to your device consumes power too. Data centers need to operate and use extensive amounts of power for running the servers, COOLING them... I like this type of music, it often helps me to focus, but for gods sake. There is something called climate change going on. And there are already people suffering from it. And we need to reduce our CO2 emissions and do not yet have made the transition to renewables yet. So please. Still make the ambience. But upload them to a platform without video. Because I think the vast majority of us is not watching it and if they need some background, there may be an on-device solution or screensaver for that. Thank you very much.
