Greetings from Rostov-on-Don, a city in the south of Russia. One year ago I bought such a car at something like EUR7,300. It was 4 years old but had run only 6,000 km by then, so there were absolutely no problems with it. Mine is assembled in Vigo, Spain, and is also powered by the same 1.6 VTI, but it has the automatic 4-gear transmission (DP0), electronic air conditioner controls, and an 8-inch multimedia and navigation system. Today I've got almost 13,000 km, and, putting it simply and briefly, my family and I, we really love and enjoy the car from nearly every aspect that an inexpensive urban-type family sedan could be assessed from.
The car is quite good, has enough power for longer routes, but for me, the 5th gear is definitely too short, or the gearbox should be 6th for highway driving ... otherwise, when you try to drive on motorways in accordance to the speed limits, the engine becomes too loud.
Fun fact: It's not actually the new 1.6 VTI engine from the EP6 family of PSA/BMW, but rather the old TU5 engine with some modifications for meeting euro standards, named EC5. It's more durable but considerably noisier than the EP6 VTI engine.
Nice ride. I prefer others PSA, but this is a reliable car. In Chile, where I come from, there are lots of taxis of this, all of them with at least 400.000 kms, without problems. PS. Love Poland.
Hi there! I will let you know that there is a car brand in Iran called IKCO, which has produced the 301 as a rebranded product. The car has recently passed Euro NCap and they are producing an all electric version of this vehicle. So possibly this car might be sold into Europe and be a good alternative to the e-Hdi.
Peugeot 301 is a saloon-type sedan car designed by Peugeot, the twin sister of the Citroën C-Élysée. Unveiled on May 24, 2012, this vehicle marks the beginning of the new denominations of three-digit Peugeot: the first denotes the segment, the latter designating the vehicles of conquest in emerging markets. The international launch of the commercialization of the Peugeot 301 took place on November 1, 2012 in Turkey. Intended for emerging markets and Central and Eastern Europe, the vehicle is not intended for distribution in Western Europe, except in Spain where it is produced, and in the overseas departments.
"the vehicle is not intended for distribution in Western Europe" Understandably, as it is not intended for serious driving. I've driven one and it was horrible - very uncomfortable.

We own one in the family and I've been daily driving it for the last 4 years now and lemme tell my story : This car isn't sold in europe as it didn't pass the EURO crash test so it's delivered to 3rd world such as my country , Tunisia. There is a problem with the ABS with every car. sometimes you get no brakes. It s so unstable on the road , the car starts shaking so bad in windy weather. The engine we get in my country is the 1.2 3cylinders non turbo engine , with 5people and AC on , a bicycle can overtake you. The body panels suck , you can bend them by just farting lmaoo. yeah it weights (900 ish kilos) No wonder why these cars aren't sold in europe
"sometimes you get no brakes." How did you manage to survive driving that car? Also, how did Peugeot manage to make a car so bad that the ABS doesn't work all the time?
@@thearousedeunuch I actually got into a wreck once because of the ABS but most of the time you'll have to rely on the engine braking , you downshift then release the clutch and try again the ABS. the reason why its not been sold in Europe at least western Europe is that this car (301/c-elysée) is built specifically for northern African countries, turkey, china and south America. its low cost car built for bad roads conditions and hot climat. now the problem with the ABS was only present in the early models (2013-2014) which was fixed in later models 2015-2016. the problem with ABS in peugeot 301 isn't as bad as you made it sound, it only happens on hard braking ,the ABS would sometime disengage and the wheels lock. in this video its the face lifted model 2017-present day which absolutely have no problem with braking. now for the engine in the first model that we have in Tunisia it is a 3 Cylinders NA 72HP VTI engine which is just fine to get around, its not a Ferrari and don't expect better performance from this engine or car in this segment. the new face lifted model (in Tunisia) have a 3 Cylinder NA 82HP Purtech engine which 2016 model had but with only 72HP. this Purtech engine is huge improvement over the previous (it won engine of the year award from 2015 to 2018 from 1L to 1.4L). i own the new face-lifted Peugeot 301 since October 2017, it have 97000 KM on the clock and never had any problem with it. its a good car equipped with a good safety systems ABS,AFU,ESP, it have a huge trunk ,gets good gaz mileage 5.5/100 KM on mixed roads. for the performance i didn't have any problems either, i maxed mine at 179km/h with 4 passengers, the AC does drain power from the engine and it feels a lot heavier but that to be expected ,its a 3 cylinder car. i daily drive my car 150-250km every day for the past two years never had a single problem with it performance or reliability wise. i would love a 1.6 petrol engine but we don't get that here, i would buy this car again without even thinking about it, i hope next generation (if there is) would have a more powerful engine for some added fun.
