If you watch the Phoenix police briefing on this incident you will see that the perp starts toward somebody off to the side. The officers gets his attention back on her and directed toward her. What you will also see if you don’t watch the “edited for clicks” version of the video is that she actually shoots him in the end.
She did her job. She may have saved lives that day. She is a hero and she deserves respect.

She broke the 21 foot rule. If a person with a knife gets within 21 feet of you and attacks, you most likely cannot stop them with a gun before you are stabbed. Stop the threat before 21 foot period
