LUCKY FIND!!! Warning, it's addicting and so satisfying!! The first time I cleaned my house with a steamer, I cleaned for 6 hours straight because I couldn't stop.
@@CleanFreakGermaphobe I tried it on baseboards, dog prints on patio window, door track, but where it really made a difference was on my stove top, grates, and greasy vent hood. Heat took off the yuck. Now I need to find other jobs for it to tackle. Thanks!!!
If I clean my windows like this, will I get that beautiful mountain view? I was on the edge of my seat waiting to watch you clean the fabric softener dispenser. It looks just like mine! Lol.
Overall I've seen thousands of positive reviews for Bissell and a fair number of people saying they don't last. So it's a good brand but you might have to replace it more often. Sharks are like that for us. We need a new one ever few years.
Any suggestions re: mineral build up in this steamer? I have had mine about 4 years and I love it and hope to remove all the build up in it. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you! Sherrie
Fill the reservoir with one part white vinegar to two parts distilled water. Run the steamer until about half of the solution is gone. Let the water cool down completely, then empty the steamer and repeat with distilled water until you can’t smell the vinegar anymore.
I just bought mine for $7 at an amazon returns store.. i own an shark removable steam cleaner and it was soo expensive and it dont work well! Well atleast the handheld part! I cant wait to use this one tho!
Hello- Great video ladies. I have a problem with my under the rim brown toilet stains that will not budge. I have tried WD-40, Borax, Vinegar, etc to no avail. Do you know if a steam cleaner can remove the brown stains or have you tried it successfully? Please advise. Thanks!
I don’t think it’s a steady or high enough heat to damage it. You don’t hold it over one place for long enough. And if you use an attachment like a scraper it helps loosen anything faster while the steam softens it.
I have this steam cleaner. Any advice on how to use it? I can only use 5-10 seconds of steam pressure at a time. The light doesn't stay green for long and the steam loses pressure/heat, thus the light turns red every 5-10 seconds (to warm up/ build up steam pressure).
My Bissell Steam Shot will only do steam for 10 seconds at a time. Then it has to rest for 20seconds to go for another 10 seconds. This is brand new product. Am I doing something wrong?
@@CleanFreakGermaphobe hi i'm currently searching all over internet watching reviews of different brands just wanted to know did you use it on carpet and sofa ?? because that is the main purpose why i want to buy mini steam cleaning tool
Great question - no it doesn't. I wish it did. It has a lock which I thought was to lock the steam ON, but it's a safety lock so you dn't accidentally push the handle and turn it on. If I find a handheld steam cleaner that has the steam lock I'm getting it. The Dupray Neat does and it saves me. Now it's something I look for before I buy.
Mine is on the way. With 4 big dogs living in the country, I’m so excited to use! April Showers = mud,,,,going to be the best thing I purchased in a loooong time. Plan on videoing before/after. 👍🏼
Yes because we got a better quality one and used it on smaller details. Our first review was on a cheaper model, over a year earlier. And we were comparing it against a regular steam cleaner...
can i use this steam cleaner on sofas, stuffed animals, and beds? Cat has fleas and I heard steam cleaners work very well. Can I use this cleaner on that stuff?
Yes you can use it on all of those items. In the sofa is the only one you need to check first on a hidden area. Don't get the steam too close or it can melt the fabric (yes it happened to me and it left a permanent mark so I wish someone had warned me). There are better things to use on sofas but as long as you don't get it too hot in one place it should be fine. Carpet cleaners are better than steam for upholstery. Rather than steam you're using water and it sucks up the water along with anything it pulled out from the couch.
It should work for longer than that but I don't know which one you bought. You have to wait for it to cool down enough to remove the cap. To speed up the process you can put in warm or hot water. Then it won't take as long to heat up.
Great video. Some constructive criticism, some your cuts are a little bit to much, you gotta leave a bit more of both ends. (I don't know if I explained it well enough... ) But either way good job on this one!
Janet is the clean freak. Diana is the germaphobe. This is Diana's house and she has a lot of house and several kids. Plus is a physicians assistant. So her house isn't as clean freak as mine is. But it also means something to show a bigger difference. Sometimes we clean other people's homes for this reason. We're all on different parts of the journey. I'm still not a germaphobe though. But she works in a medical setting so that makes sense.
Where does the dirt go? Looks to me like some of it is lifted up in the steam and carried off..then I guess it drops out as the air cools... that can't be very 'clean' for the surrounding things.. I'd be inclined to clean off the worst with a conventional wet rag, then just use the steamer to get off stubborn stuff and sterilize.
You wipe off the dirt with a cloth. We use a microfiber one. You could wipe dirt off first but the steam lifts it. Still you can use it for details, disinfecting and tough to get off stains.
Think that needs to be made clearer in some of these demonstration videos. Still think it makes sense to get the worst loose dirt off with a regular damp cloth before starting steaming.
We could say that but we show it throughout the video. First steaming and then wiping off the dirt. We really wanted to show all the things you can clean.
i like to see you try cleaning first regular soap and water and then compare cleaning something similar with this steamer. try not to cut too much because it looks like you are trying to hide results. IMHO
