I read about DMLC PART 1 in which it is mentioned that "It must identify, in each of those areas, the national requirements embodying the relevant provisions of the convention by providing a reference to the relevant national legal provisions as well as, to the exact necessary, concise information on the main content of the national requirements". Areas in this statement are the 14 points(min. Age, medical certificate, wages ,SEA etc) that are to mentioned in Maritime labour certificate. Could you please help me by simplifying this statement as it is little confusing.
Sahil, since unpaid wages contravenes MLC, the seafare should first try to resolve the issue with the owner, chartered or Manning agent. If unresolved, the seafarer has the right to initiate civil suit action against the company through lawyers or report the ship to ITF, ILO and port state control of the next port or Flag State.
