I assume you know by now depending on the delay between watching and uploading...but Ram said a hit to Rem's horn would knock her back to her senses. Subaru missed his first hit and then slam dunked her horn after the pup ragdolled him into the sky which is where the episode ended.
I think you missed a bit of dialogue. At the end he's trying to hit her horn to knock her out of the demon state.
