Wooooooow. I am imagining what would have happened had you done audio for his BBU round. That would have killed. You really managed to bring out what I love about his sound. Props!
I would have loved to mix his round, but Helium doesn't like to mix or manipulate beatbox because "it's not natural beatbox anymore" (whatever that means, haha). But thank you!
@@sirius-brawlstars2110 Helium VS KI; Helium was the winner (at least for me). But the sound quality wasn't good and played against him. The correct term is sound mixing, not editing (edit would be more what b art does and hence the counter of HISS). Every professional record or song you hear on the radio or streaming platforms goes through a mixing engineer and then a mastering process so your music can match levels, eq and standards of loudness on the market. A song goes through automation to enhance critical moments in the music to make the listener connect more with the art. It doesn't stay flat within the length of the piece. Why not treat beatboxing as professionals in the music industry so it can compete with the mainstream? If you listen to any song on Spotify and then listen to Helium (only in terms of sound quality), anyone could say Helium sounds "Amateur." Obviously, beatboxing-wise, he is one of the best in the world but sounds like an amateur production in a bedroom. As an audio engineer, I try to reach market standards to make the music shine the most and make beatboxing more professional. It is a shift on the scene that, IN MY OPINION (everything I say is my opinion), needs to happen. But, some beatboxers and people that consume beatbox are used to listening to raw beatbox and don't like it when someone mixes audio. It is normal. The piano's predecessor is an instrument called the "harpsichord," where the strings were plucked instead of hammered. The harpsichord doesn't have any dynamics and sounds super monotonous (listen on youtube to the sound of that instrument if you are not familiar with it), and when the piano came out, a lot of people didn't like it because they were familiar with the harpsichord. It took a lot of time for people to get used to the sound of the piano and find out it had more possibilities and it is more beautiful. Something similar happens here with some people not liking mixed and mastered beatbox because we are not used to it. But, I believe in the future, that will change. Of course, there will always be some "purists" who will stick to their old ways, which is normal, nothing but respect for them. No matter what you like, be respectful and spread love in the community. ESH
@@JordoXBeatbox I agree with audio mixing and mastering for beatbox. But also it raises an issue during live performances. Since, beatbox is all done from a single mic, there isn't much of a sound testing dynamic range to it than what a usual band has (lead guitar, vocals, drums, bass, keyboard, rhythm guitar). For produced beatbox music, mixing and mastering will be very nice but then live performances will not be similar to the produced ones. Helium can sound same in person (live) and on video meanwhile people like DEN sound really different in person (live) than their videos. So, this creates a dilemma to whether mix thinking about live performances or mix for videos only.
I just produced a beat in tribute to this beatbox. It was just too dope not to do it and I don't regret making it😭❤️🔥...Hit me up if you want me to send it some way.
